This store blows hard around dinner time during the week. It seems like everyone gets off work to go buy dinner, and the store closes all but 3 lanes, leaving LITERALLY30 people in each line. Each line extends ¾ of the way down he entire aisle. And there is a giant sign to stare at while you are waiting that boasts their quick service, and that they will gladly open another line if there are 3 or more people waiting. Not just once, I’ve experienced this half a dozen times in the last 2 months. And if you think of something else you want to get while you are in line, forget it – unless you want to restart your 30 min wait. Right there is missed business opportunity, not to mention the fact that they are pissing off 90 people at a time for a 2 hour block. Get it together guys.

This review is just for Kellie in the pharmacy. I’ve been coming here for years and everyone knows in general, this Safeway is a crowded mess of a store 90% of the time. However, Kellie is always wonderful and kind, making what usually is a hectic experience to the pharmacy, just a little bit more bearable. Thank you!

For better or worse this is the Safeway that I’m closest too and given that I’m a Rock and Roll Vampire the fact that it’s open 24 hours is definitely a lifesaver for me. The prices aren’t great and i usually just find myself picking up whatever is on sale. It’s amazing how much further my money goes when I’m shopping out on Irving, but when i shop there I’m mostly buying produce, here I mainly just buy«staples», Bread, Eggs, Cheese, Wine. As far as getting the staples here, for whatever reason their egg section almost always looks like it was pillaged by Vikings and laid to waste. They reliably do not have the eggs I like to buy, the ones from Rock Island, get it together and order more if you always sell out They do have my favorite Sourdough bread from Santa Cruz & I appreciate that. As far as wine I have to admit their Crane Lake zinfandel is surprisingly drinkable considering it’s $ 3 a bottle, I prefer it over TJ’s $ 2 Buck Chuck. One thing that I notice is that I don’t have to wait in line at a register at night like I would have to at Potrero or Bernal, but then again there’s a lot less happening out by Fort Mason. One pet peeve is that one of the cashiers always IDs me and as I tend to be fond of my adult beverages & have been going there for years it’d be nice if he remembered me. I used to have a magnificent waxed mustache, think Rollie Fingers or Dalii, if that doesn’t make you remember me & I’ve seen you there for a couple years…
