Time: 8:33am/63°F partly cloudy Purpose: Saw this vendor through window at Tierra Mia Coffee while waiting on my colleague. On my way out, I said lets walk over for a minute heh? We walk over to see what’s the commotion and if anything might suit us. Set-up: It’s not consider a food truck, but a hitch trailer. A food truck by definition has to have engine included with chassis bay of vehicle. Don’t ask me why? I just heard from vendors having a hard time obtaining a permit. Can’t miss this trailer as the color are that of the Oakland A’s, yellow and green. Trailer sit between Franklin and Broadway on 20th street. They can be on either side of 20th street depending if theres a space when pulling up. Trailer with side windows prop and door open with menu hung form inside. Sidewalk dry erase ad board with fading description. On window ledge with water dispenser, box of napkins, couple of brownie bars and snacks. Soothing piano key strokes playing through wireless speakers from inside. Staff: A man and woman behind the scene told us to try a sample. I ask if she’s planning to have a shop for her offerings? She simply said, we’ll see. I doubt it, as retail space are soaring due to gentrification in this area. Cleanliness: Grade A, clean no complaints. All food and drink sealed and cover. No exposure of food seen even water dispenser wipe down spic and span. Eats/Drinks: One 16oz deep cold press juice $ 8. Real refreshing having it this early and probably tasted better if I didn’t had coffee earlier. You can really taste listed ingredients of kale, ginger, apple, arugula and celery. Wasn’t water down at all as the sediments are felt on tongue. I actually just drink half of it share it with colleague. She had extra paper cup from café and unuse. Pour half into cup as we both made off to work. The ginger was the kicker of all taste. A little zing to wake you up, eye opener. Products/Services: Wheatgrass and ginger shots, smoothies, cold pressed juice, fruit bowl, brownies, premade salad, mini banana loaf. Takes major CC and Square. Punch Lines: Early hours, friendly, samples, made to order, accessible by public transportation, downtown Oakland, with minutes of lake merritt, no line, 2 – 4 minute average wait time, price from $ 4 – 8, no slum dogs. Tradeoffs: Has the basic health ingredients just not a full set up like Jamba juice. You buy according to what they make that day, or you simply go elsewhere. Final Thoughts: It’s a good idea to differentiate itself from others. With so much airborne toxin pollution and in our food these days. We’re running out of options as to whether believe the labels or not. So, whenever I see a healthy alternative, I hit them up. Can’t put a price on your health. You need good health to make good income and not the other way around.

Had the yellow Mangonada with a shot of greens which both looked and tasted delicious. It was operated by young and friendly business owners who went out of their way to make sure you enjoy your drink. Will definitely come back for Ruru’s juices again!

Bumped into this amazing juice truck on my way to work, and loved their fresh + organic recipes! I got a «deep» which was a healthy and tasty way to start the day. Cashier was very sweet and made sure i was happy with my juice. I will certainly go back for more juice and treats!
