Time to run — as far away from this event as you can. This was the absolute worst. Stood in line for over an hour to check in, they ran out of shirts, ran out of dye packets, didn’t have the color stations manned, so the first wave used up the color.

I have completed two Run or Dye 5k’s this year: one is Santa Rosa(11⁄13) and one in San Francisco(12⁄13). Both of the runs were well planned, efficiently staffed and most importantly, super fun! I will definitely be doing another Run or Dye in the future!

How do I hate thee? Let me count the ways. I hate thee to the depth and breadth and height my soul can reach… Because I hated the ONEHOUR check-in! Because you didn’t provide access to candlestick park, only the parking lot, Because Dye was extremely hard to remove, Because standing still for one hour to check-in, on a San Francisco morning, in runner’s short is torture. I have run many organized races and nothing was ever as bad as this race. The race consisted of zigzagging through the parking lot of Candlestick Park using cones while people threw dye at you. Avoid Run-or-Dye events, in theory they sound like fun, but in practice the organizers lack experience and removing dye is a big pain in the butt. Inspired by Elizabeth Barrett Browning like whaaat!

Candlestick Park PARKINGLOT was the worst place to hold a 5k. They didn’t even let us into the stadium. They just set up a bunch of orange cones and made you run around in loops in the empty parking lot. Running on the concrete messed up my knees for a couple of week. Horrible. I would not recommend this run to anyone. The color dyes(which are Holi powder) were fun to throw in the spirit of things though.

Too much fun! We came with a big team celebrating a friend’s birthday. Great organization, just enough hype bro dudes and decent high energy music to get you excited to Run and Dye EVERYWHERE you go! I hate to compare it to the Color Run, but its hard not to. Run or Dye was far better! The course, the amount of dye and the timed intervals at the start. Definitely a FUN run. Don’t come trying to beat a good race time or anything! Do come ready to get down and colorfully dirty!
