I live like, 4 doors down from Rightway Market. I’ve come here more times than I would like to admit. But they always have what I’m jonesing for. Tonight, I needed cream for some quiches I was baking. Last week, I needed some Apple Licorice for Bridesmaids. And on a regular basis, I need Snickers and Diet Dr. Pepper 2 liters. They also have solid produce. I pride myself in making one of the best salsa’s you’ve never had. It’s amazing. And Rightway always has all of the produce I need, or at least a major chunk of it. Habaneros, Jalapenos, Tomatillos, Cilantro, Green Onions. And they usually have some decent mushrooms. Although I try to only buy my mushrooms from the Mushroom Dudes at the Farmers Market. Alex usually works behind the counter. He’s a good one.

When traveling I miss fresh fruit. This place was not too far from the hotel. Well priced produce and I love that a lot of the fruits are fully ripe for immediate consumption. While here I witnessed the long haired cashier being super kind to a homeless man. He was treated with dignity and a gesture of non condescending charity. Love that.

The cashier provides a very prompt and friendly service, so I make it a point to buy my groceries from this market as much as possible. The selection in the market includes very cheap snacks and other reasonably priced food items. Also, It is right across the street from my favorite burrito place(El Tesoro), so i like to run in here for a few things while i’m waiting for my order.(Both places provide quick and friendly service) Highly recommended!

The Right Way Market offers the LOWEST and BEST prices in the entire Nob Hill, TL, Union Square, SOMA, and Financial District areas. The store offers a great variety for a small space, and even has a deli. The produce is AWESOME, and also very inexpensive. Traditional pan dulce is made daily, and I eat WAY too much of it… 2HUGE pieces for $ 1 FURTHEREXAMPLE: I purchased goods for an entire meal, pasta with sauce from scratch, Tomatos tomato base in a can chorizo bell peppers pasta garlic croissants cheese TOTAL: $ 12 and some change PERFECTO The store staff is also exceptionally friendly and welcoming, recognizing the neighborhood regulars, and making you really want to come back. The long haired latin fellow that is typically tending the shop is perhaps one of the friendliest people in a customer service position I have encountered in a long time. Even if you aren’t from this neighborhood, I would recommend visiting Right Way to save yourself some money, and have some great food.

Right Way also was seen(with a different sign) in the documentary«American Pimp.» Don’t let this little fact deter you. Rightway has a good selection of just about every kind of mexican canned, boxed or bagged product you could think of — from sauce in a can to mexican corn starch, popcorn and doritos(not the chip kind). Plus, they have yummy mexican pastries(which I have to run by the sweet baboo first to make sure it’s something I would like), 3 for $ 1. Oh yeah, and the frozen fruit bars. Rightway doesn’t carry liquor — but they do carry fresh sour cream and salsa. Rightway, Econo Market(owned by the same people) and Lifetime Market(on Geary between Jones and Leavenworth) are everything you need to make the perfect meal.
