Great haircut by Kelly! She takes the time to ask questions and listen to the answers. I’ve paid a lot more for a haircut, but never gotten a better one. Best haircuts on Polk.

This is a review for their talented esthetician Icy who offers facials at the salon. I originally bought a Groupon for 2 microdermabrasion + glycolic facials and have been hooked as a regular loyal customer ever since! I’ve had a lot of facials in my life, and this is seriously the best facial I have ever had! She is the only person I trust to do extractions since I never break out afterwards. She offers a great value for everything she does to you skin: cleanse, steam, mircoderm, extractions, cooling mask and a red light to kill bacteria, and then a brief glycolic mask to stimulate collagen production(don’t worry, you don’t peel afterwards)! Icy has helped my skin tremendously and I get compliments from my friends on how much more smooth, even toned, and glowy my skin looks :) If you are ready to ditch the make-up and have beautiful, natural, healthy skin… I highly recommend going to see Icy!

Good blow dry and styling by Kelly. Am definitely going back when I am next in town. The hot iron to straighten hair actually helped the hair styling keep shape the next day too.

Avoid. Unprofessional and the ‘stylist’ didn’t know what she was doing. I was a little nervous that they were the only hair salon that was completely available(and empty) at 2.30 pm on a Sunday — I had called 10 others in the neighborhood before that — but figured that it was still pretty highly rated. Should have obeyed my instinct. Not the end of the world for me, my hair grows pretty quickly so this disastrous hair cut will not last long.

Simply an overpriced Chinatown salon. Better to go elsewhere. Lady speaks broken English and ignores any pictures you show so don’t waste your time. Comb drops to the floor and she continues to use it. Unsanitary. Definitely not coming back.

Love this place! They do a fantastic job, they definitely stand beside their work… and it doesn’t break the bank! Great quality, great value. Can’t recommend enough. They do a great job on my extra long, layered hair, and on my boyfriend’s pompadour style.

Went by the reviews here at Unilocal. Not disappointed at all. All the staff including Kelly are awesome. You get a good haircut for the price. This will be my go-to saloon for my regular hair cuts.

I went here for the first time. I liked the place. The lady is nice. She kept asking how I wanted my hairs and does how you ask her to. Perfect. I look nice now :)

FINALLY… A place that does my hair the way I want it! Have spent the last 5 years looking for a place/hairstylist to replace Hon(Polk St. Hair Design) that has the ability(talent) to cut/style fine hair in the way I’m used to – Steve @ Precision is the man. Steve took the time to hear how I wanted my haircut and then did his best to make me happy. Came home & later called him to request a slight touch-up(layering just a bit too long), and he was more than willing to have me come right back to make sure I got what I wanted. Returned today and, while trying desperately to convey exactly how I wanted the length of layering to be, he didn’t miss a beat and trimmed it perfectly. Now have the only hairstylist in the Western World I’ll trust to cut my hair.

I appreciate a quality haircut but balk at paying a scalp’s ransom for one. Afterall, i go through this grooming ritual a dozen times a year. Need my scrilla to pay rent yall. This is why I go see Annie at Precision Hair. She knows what she’s doing, takes her time, and I always leave looking better than how I entered. $ 25 after a fair tip for a job done well. The shop is run by a pleasant woman named Jenny. The physical space is no frills– the décor doesn’t contrive to transport you back to a time when it seemed appropriate to sport a handlebar ‘stache– but if that’s your thing there are plenty of other, more expensive barbers for you in this city.

This is the first time writing a review on Unilocal, and unfortunately, it’s a bad one. I came here based on the reviews and nearby location, with high hopes of finding a new go to spot since my normal hairdresser was closed for the day. This was not the case. I was greeted by an Asian lady(a little on the heavier side — not to be confused with the thinner Asian lady who also works there), who guided me toward the hair washing station. I immediately found out that she barely spoke any English, so I knew this might be difficult. I’ve had a language barrier with a hair dresser before(who is WONDERFUL and works at Shear Image on Geary), so I still had high hopes. The hair washing was okay, but took a bit longer than most washes I’ve had. It wasn’t until she accidentally got water in my ear that I thought to myself, «Uh oh, I have a feeling she might do some sloppy work.» But what distracted me and kept my hopes high was the lady next to her(washing another customers hair), admiring my Superman tattoo, haha. Haircut time. I tell her AND show her a picture of exactly how I want my haircut. Nothing fancy, just chop it short to align with my jawline. She says, «No, a little longer.» I tell her, «No, that’s too long. I really want it short like this,» motioning to my jawline. She assures me that it’ll be short like that in the back and just a little longer in the front. I’m convinced as well as pressed for time, so we proceed. She somewhat clumsily and slowly gets all her tools ready, and adjusts my chair. What does she do next? SHESITSDOWNBEHINDMEANDSTARTSTOCUTMYHAIR. I have NEVER had anyone who cut my hair SITDOWN. Who does that??? I cringe at the thought of what my hair must look like in the back. I also don’t have my glasses on(I’m practically blind w/out them), so I can’t really see her progress. Eventually, she gets the blow dryer out and blow dries it WAY too much — to the point where it was starting to frizz, ugh. Not only does she spend too much time blow drying and«styling» my hair, she accidentally HITSMEINTHEHEAD with the blow dryer(ouch!). I look at her through the mirror(fuzzily since I’m still glasses-less), and wait for her to apologize and ask if I’m ok. Instead, since I’m not writhing in pain, she looks at me and starts to laugh. Wtf? WHODOESTHAT? I can tell in the mirror that my hair isn’t short enough, but I’m thinking, «Maybe she’s gonna continue cutting it after drying it???» It gets to the point where I realize she’s done cutting, so I stop her and ask how short it is in the back. She hands me my glasses(which she also dropped), and it isn’t anywhere near the length I asked for. I’m not usually one to complain, but I was NOT about to pay for a haircut that I didn’t ask for. Once again, I tell her how short I want it(while apologizing to her… wtf is wrong w/me?) and that it needs to be so short that she has to shave my neck. She agrees to «fix» it. Now I’m thinking, «Crap, now she’s just gonna do a hack job on me.» Guess what? I was right. After what seems like 20 – 30 mins of spraying, hacking my hair and weed whacking my neck with the electric shaver(cringe), the length looks right, but it looks nothing like the picture I showed her. I didn’t get a good look in the mirror bc I just wanted to get out of there, but from what I saw, it looked very sloppy and uneven. Finally, after paying, I head out of the shop and walk home w/my hood on bc I can’t bare to let ppl see this awful haircut I just got. When I get home, I look in the mirror and notice that not only is my haircut uneven on both sides, there are also small patches missing from the front and back of my hair. TLDR: 1.) Got water in my ear when washing my hair 2.) Argued with me on how short my hair should be 3.) Accidentally hit me in the head w/the blow dryer, didn’t apologize, and laughed it off 4.) Had to re-cut my hair to the length I originally asked for, and did a horrible, uneven, hack job. 5.) Spent $ 28 on one of the worst haircuts AND service I’ve ever received ½ a star for the free hair wash that’s given to first time customers. Another ½ star to the lady who loved my Superman tattoo. Never. Coming. Back. Again.

I was lucky enough to have my hair cut by Kelly. She took her time to make sure my hair was cut exactly to my liking — talk about precision! The place is nice, simple, clean and affordable. I would highly recommend Kelly for your next haircut!

Steve is great. He listens to what you need and advises you on the haircut type. Very happy with my haircuts from him and I am particular about my hair. Worth a shot if you’re looking for a new local barber.

After my second time and an appointment with Kelly I feel much better than after my first visit(and I look better too!). They truly do care about the client I have learned and deserve credit. If you stop by I recommend you ask to have your hair cut by Kelly! She is wonderful, talented and takes the time to shadow your hair just the way you want it. I will be coming back in the future for sure.

Only having recently moved to San Francisco, finding a barber wasn’t an easy task. I’ve gotten two haircuts from Steve here and he’s done a really great job both times. He’s always polite and getting a great haircut in under 15 minutes is amazing. You can’t beat the price either, only $ 21.

My hair and bangs turned out way shorter than requested — I was actually trying to grow out my bangs and asked for a «little trim», the nice gentleman took off about half of it. Although I asked to keep the ends blunt, he made it took so choppy that I have no idea what I’ll do with my hair for the next few months while it grows out. This is literally the worst haircut I’ve gotten in a long time. My hair is naturally kind of poofy and there’s no layers and just choppy at the bottom. It looks like an upside down jagged triangle. I mean I guess I should’ve known better when my haircut cost less than my Brazilian … added on two stars for the amount of focus he actually put in lol and the shampoo was nice. There was no blow drying though. Walked out with wet hair. To end on a good note, I think this place is better for men. Three dudes came in and out w fresh haircut whilst I was getting my hair hacked up.

Made a trip after reading Unilocal reviews and I had to get a last minute(during my lunch break) haircut for Lunar New Year. Walked in and told them I wanted a cut. Annie(who is only there Weds & Thurs) sat me down and asked me how I wanted my hair cut. I told her to just trim the ends and layer my hair. She took what I said and went to work. She kept my hair long and cut it to where it shaped my face. I love my new hair cut and will be back! Only downfall was I didn’t receive the free wash a dry they advertised.

Got a great hair cut today from an asian gentlemen. no line, great service, and great price. I will be returning for sure. It’s $ 30 for a women’s hair cut($ 20 is just for men). Free shampoo and wash(i think they washed my hair for a good 10−15min). Another solid 60min spent on cutting, drying, and refining the cut. Long layers and a face frame, the stylist had great technique — absolutely no complaints!

Fantastic. I’m a student at SFSU, coming from Los Angeles. I used to go to a hair salon where a family friend was the owner and my barber. Normally, it would cost about 50 for A shampooing, hair cut, and styling. At this place I paid 35, because I was a friend of the owner. Of course, I’m used to quality haircuts and probably will never step foot in Super cuts, but at the same time I am not willing to pay much more than what was asked. Well, I wasn’t surprised. This isn’t to say I was disappointed, far from it. This salon has a 5 star rating from 20 individuals on Unilocal and being in the area, needing a haircut, and having only 20, I decided it was worth a shot. Well, it was well worth it. I am NOT sure what the gentleman’s name was, however today there was a white man and Asian barber, both seemed very friendly but the main thing I noticed upon entering was the speed in which they churn people out. A man was there for 10 minutes during my visit forehead entire haircut appointment. I was given the shampooing by the Asian gentleman for free, and believe me when I say that he was not trying to impress me or set a standard higher than what they normally would with any other customer. I did not mention Unilocal or any reviews I had read, wanted to make me a happy, returning customer. And that he did. I’ll be back in a few months with another 20 bucks 4 the kind of quality that I’d come to expect from a barber double the cost. I very highly recommend this place.

Great Haircut for $ 20! One of the few places close to me that are open on Sundays and yet relatively affordable. I’m going to give this 5 stars and comment here so I will remember to come back to this place next time.
