I’ve only been there once, and loved it, but the second time I went just this past Tuesday, it was closed. I commented on this to my friend and two guys walking by said the business is closed and is up for sale. Alas, Pop Up Café, I hardly knew yea, and now you are gone! Sad face.

There was only one other person in the restaurant and my pancake combo took almost 20 min to come out. Eggs were barely warm, and bacon slices thin(but at least crisp) – looked more like what I could make at home rather then something from a restaurant. Pancakes were at least hot and fluffy, with crisp edges, but they only gave syrup and no butter. Pretty disappointing experience as a whole.

There are several 5 star restaurants that I’ve eaten at that could not give me eggs over medium. This place f***in nailed it. Shout out to Jaimie(no clue if I spelled it right) for giving me and my wife tips on what to do for our first anniversary. This place had bottomless mimosas… BOTTOMLESSMIMOSAS!

Had a beer, burger, fries and lemon pepper chicken wings. The fries are thin and yummy. Burger was good. Lots of beers on tap. Only suggestion, less lemon pepper spic on the wings. They came out a bit too salty. Will come again. Nice view of foot traffic on O’Farrell St. The lady at the register is really friendly.

Coffee drinks are excellent, the staff is friendly and they have a wide selection of craft beers. $ 4 drafts at Happy hour! The food I’ve tried was good. But be warned, it usually takes a while to make. Jalapeño burger, Bechamel burger, hot dog, garlic fries and breakfast burrito were all very tasty. They switch their menu several times a week.

Very friendly service first off I may have come here too early in the day because their menu in the morning is full on american diner food, I was hoping for something more ethnic as the reviews show I got the breakfast burrito via suggestion of the cashier. It was deliciously unhealthy. There was omelette and yummy potatoes inside. The sausage tasted like chemicals and Pam cooking spray however. I’ll definitely come back at night time to try the more interesting stuff!

Great friendly service. I really liked the carnitas taco and the fried shrimp taco. I also ordered the carnitas fries with the fries on the side so that they stay crispy and they made it just the way I requested, well done super crispy fries. Keep this up. I cannot way to try the other cuisine! Wish list: I wish their salsa containers were bigger and that they would encourage people to bring their own containers when they order to go(in the spirit of being green). Oh.. . one last wish please try to get some of the fat out of the carnitas before cooking. I had a chunk of fat in one of my tacos.

Fun place, friendly staff. Been here for a few pick up orders for sticky ribs(BBQ@Lux) and Cambodian/Creole food. Crawfish are a pain to eat with little reward, but the mussels with garlic butter sauce mmmmm. A bit strange that there are separate registers for food and drinks, but as long as you get them, no problemo!

Nice little coffee, café… with free Wi-Fi. Only had a drink so cannot comment on the food, but the place itself, and staff were extremely nice! Will be stopping here more often in the future when in the CIty.

This place is the bomb! It’s a pop-up venue, so it varies night to night, day to day. Tonight was our friend & the original pop-up guy, Lux! BBQ@LUX! His Q is something else! Awesome quality, and a whole lotta love go into his food! 18-hour smoked pork and brisket! Lemongrass Chicken(my personal fave!) And my other fave is his Sticky Icky Ribs! He had those tonight! I could eat a pile of those! He used to use baby back ribs, but now he uses full on spare ribs so you get the most meat possible! Lol! It’s prolly some of the best BBQ you’ll have in the Bay Area! So, if you’re in the Tender Nob area, go check em out, and get your Q on on Wed & Thur! Check the Pop Up Café fb for updates on daily pop-ups!

Pop Up Café, as the name suggests, is a cute little place with friendly staff serving different types of food on a daily basis accompanied with a killer beer selection. We decided to check out the soft opening and it was PACKED. They were serving barbecue this day. My friends ordered a #getfat plate to share that came with a variety of meats and sides. Unfortunately, I can’t say anything about the meat(#teampescetarian, woo), but my friends killed the platter. However, the potato salad was yummy and the garlic fries smelled oOoOoh so delicious. If you’re an indecisive person like me, good luck trying to decide on a beer. They have a wide variety on tap for $ 3(I like 21st Amendment’s Hell or High Watermelon Wheat beer) along with an impressive selection of bottled craft beer($ 5) you probably can’t find at your local Safeway. I tried Marin Brewing Company’s Trail Ale and really enjoyed it! Can you spot the trend in my beer preferences by now. Also doesn’t hurt that their craft brews come in a 22oz bottle so you’re definitely getting your bang for the buck. Overall, definitely seems like a cool place to grab a beer, eat good food and chill with friends. Can’t wait to come back and see what else they have to offer(and try more beer, of course).

Insanely cool concept, super nice staff, good eats, and tons of beer. What else do you need? Similar to pop-up markets, pop up café allows different chefs to come use their kitchen to show off their skills and feed the masses. The menu changes, since the chefs are rotating. One day will be BBQ, another day Mexican food(san diego style), another day Cambodian, seafood boil, the list goes on. Pints are super cheap right now at happy hour($ 4) and they’ve got an extensive selection of brews. The Tran brothers are always on site and involved with their customers, listening to feedback and going out of their way to make their patrons happy. Highly recommended!

Pop Up Café has a dual identity: breakfast/beerbar by day and Pop up Hosts at nights.(different one every night– BBQ@Lux is here sometimes) eats: –breakfast omlette(3) w/sausage or toast(4) omlette has tasty ham, bacon, eggs, cheese? etx, yummy! 2 sausages obviously not home made, tasted funny, too much additives take outs: –menu is evolving –draft beer @4 is cheap! full pints(16oz) not the 12 or 13 oz everyone else is serving $ 6 for bottles. large selection.

I’ve never been to a ‘pop-up’ café/eatery before, but ever since coming here, I’ve been quite intrigued by the concept. I had Kuy Tew(a common Cambodian noodle soup — it’s NOT phở), hosted by Nyum Bai. It came with Cha Kwai, a type of fried bread Cambodians tend to eat with soups/porridge. I loved the broth and the pieces of pork. The meatballs were also nice and tender. Unfortunately, I felt the noodles were too overcooked that it made the whole meal taste a little bland. Had the noodles been cooked just right, it would have absorbed the broth better. That is my only complaint. Everything else was very tasty and I look forward to what other cuisines Nyum Bai will come up with next. Overall, I think this pop-up is a unique and creative way to promote Cambodian food to a wider audience in a simplistic style. Keep up the good work.

Here for BBQ@Lux!!! All the way from LA! We got their«Get Fat Platter»!!! It’s has their famous TODIEFOR18hrs smoked brisket, pulled pork, lemongrass chicken with 3 sides of homemade coleslaw, baked bean and tangy yummylicious potato salad! Worth every single cent of the $ 26. Sigh. Good stuff! Yumyumyum!!! We got the garlicky fries too($ 8). Not bad. So yeah, we’re leaving this place feeling fat but very happy! =) Thanks Lux!!!

What a great concept. It’s a BBQ joint during certain days, and the rest of the days are open for people who wants to do a pop up. We went for nyumbai(eat rice in Cambodian) pop up. She was serving the traditional Cambodian pork noodles soup with a nice pork broth. The pork was so tender. It was delicious. It’s a really cute place. They have lots of beers. Can’t wait to see what’s gonna«pop up» next.

DANG! I was one of the lucky ones who heard about Pop Up Café’s soft opening because I follow some of these studs on Instagram, and I’m so glad I made the trek out to the city for it tonight. These guys know food, and by the looks of it, they’re gonna know how to run a successful business! Pop Up Café was suuuuper poppin’ when I got there around 8pm. I really did not expect the crowd to be so huge for a soft opening, but I guess everyone knew that this was the place to be this Thursday night! BBQ@Lux was the soft opening pop up, and I’d say he was a huge hit! Beers in hand, BBQ in every inch of space possible. I tried the smoked pork nachos, hella garlicky fries, and buffalo wangs, and ugh… Sooo good. I want more! Lux himself was even the one bringing his food out, which I thought was really nice :). Even though the space is a bit small(or maybe it’s actually really large and the crowd of people are skewing my perception), everyone there was nice enough to squeeze me and my plates of food in. Great, friendly atmosphere. I’m looking forward to coming back and trying the other pop ups after they have their grand opening, which I hear is some time next week~ Start lining up, it’ll be worth it ;).
