The interior was clean and modern. Surprisingly there was no lineup for dinner on a weekday. The service was top notch. I ordered the Margherita pizza. The pizza came relatively quickly. There was a lot of buffalo mozarella cheese. The first bite was the best. The crust was extremely crispy and the pizza was hot. There was very little basil and it was mostly charred. I could not taste the flavour of the basil.

Pizzeria Delfina serves up a solid pizza. Their crust is particularly triumphant, and in fact, it may be the best euro-style thin crust in the city. It’s just the right ratio of doughy to crunchy and is always well seasoned. I usually don’t eat the bare crust at the end of a slice, but at Delfina I make an exception. They always use a nice olive oil as well, which is something that is often overlooked. It’s the little details that give Delfina their edge. The service is generally good, but I must confess that I care almost exclusively about food and am generally not impressed by being waited on. I’ve been to both the formal restaurant and the pizzeria, and I think Delfina’s pizza stands out from the crowd more than the main restaurant’s food. However, the formal restaurant is a good choice if you are looking for a more high end dining experience. I took away one star because I think PizzaHacker’s sauce has an edge over Delfina.

Went here while waiting for the line at Tartine to shorten. This place is decent if you’re looking for some good pizza in the mission. I wan’t awe stricken by the pizzas themselves, but i very much loved their bread sticks. They LITERALLY have bread STICKS! They looked decorative and it actually took me a second to realize they were edible as they were preset on the bar seats which we were sat at. They have an amazing staff, extremely friendly and fun!

In a way, any pizza spot in San Francisco that I check out is going to be at a default disadvantage by having to be compared to Tony’s Pizza Napoletana, a five-star spot in SF that, in my opinion, dishes up some of the best pizza in the country. In the case of Pizzeria Delfina while Tony’s isn’t dethroned, it certainly isn’t a blowout comparison by any stretch. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? The indoor outdoor atmosphere at Pizzeria Delfina is great albeit a wee bit cramped at times, and the friendly staff manage what can often be the lengthy line quite well. The pizzas come out quick, so come hungry. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? My party of three got two pizzas to share, both of which were $ 18.50, and it turned out to be just the right amount of food. That’s not cheap, but it isn’t ridiculous either. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? In short, both of the pizzas that I ordered were excellent. For starters, the Salsicca, with fennel sausage, tomato, bell peppers, and onions, had fantastic flavor, good portions of toppings, and came together with flavorful crust. However, it was the Prosciutto Pie that stole the show, with generous portions of flavorful prosciutto being complimented by a brilliant combo of mozzarella and caciocavallo cheeses topped with arugula. Sensational. Dual Stars Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? In a vast majority of cities in this country, I would give Pizzeria Delfina this fifth star without question or hesitation. However, while the pizza is good, I still strongly feel that Tony’s Pizza Napoletana serves up a much broader range of pies that are consistently top tier, and for that reason I can’t say I would recommend Pizzeria Delfina over the competition in San Francisco. No Star Granted.

First time here and not a good experience. Not worth the place — they told 25 minutes wait but ended up having to wait an hour and thirty minute. Every twenty minute they kept telling 5,10 minutes. Food is average nothing to wait this long at the place. Would have been ok if they could be honest about wait times. Also no reservations either so be careful in going to this place

Craving some fried risotto balls or burrata? Looking for a secret menu? Pizzeria Delfina’s gotchu. Came here for a late lateeee lunch on Friday afternoon with an out of towner friend. We hadn’t eaten anything since our breakfast earlier that day, and with the craziness of playing tour guide my stomach was ready to DEVOUR some pizza. We were in Mission already and walked here because we weren’t feeling up for Mexican food or any of the usual stomping grounds that Mission had to offer. And what a great decision that was! Because we got here around 2PM, service was expedient, staff was friendly, and there was no wait time. We got seated immediately inside at their narrow bar(PURSEHOOKSYES). Our servers were such gentlemen and very friendly people. We were originally going to get the margherita, but we kept on mentioning that we wished we could eat the burrata and our amazing server overheard our wishes and told us that there was a secret menu! We got the burrata for an extra couple dollars, and we were so glad we did! We scarfed the delicious and baked-just-right-pizza down in a few minutes, and were filled to the brim sharing it between us two. I wish we had more room to try their risotto balls which looked awesome. The chef was very friendly and saw us eyeing his pizza skills, thanks man for the delicious food! Pizza didn’t take too long to come out, and because they use their stone-fired oven, time truly makes a difference. The burrata was PERFECTION and crust was crisp. I love how they also give you extra spices/parm on a little plate so you can add extra flavors on your pizza when it arrives. I would totally recommend coming here for delicious pizza with over the top service. It could have been because we ate during«down time,» but this place deserves a 5-star-shoutout!

Came here because of the reviews on and they were right! This place was great. The only reason they aren’t getting 5 stars is because it’s so packed and the waiter staff made us feel so rushed. It kind of took away from the experience.

Great Italian pizzas and apps! We got a special fungi pizza with all mushrooms with an egg on top, the saffron arincini, the chicken soup along with the grilled asparagus. For dessert we had the gelato. Pizza was thin and extremely tasty. The waitress was kind enough to put the egg on the side in case of raw egg for the pregnant lady in our group. The pizza even converted my mom — a non pizza lover. Grilled asparagus was my fave app, but the arincini balls were cheesy and tasty, with the chicken soup being a nice light starter as well. Gelato was smooth and creamy but the vanilla flavor fell short while the hazelnut hit the spot. Service was impeccable. I’d come back again!

We really enjoyed PIzzeria Delfina. They had a nice selection of neopolitan style pizzas and a good beer/wine list(what more can you ask for at a pizza place). We ordered the special pizza with Speck, which was amazing, as well as the lamb sausage pizza, which was good but a little dry. I would definitely get the special again. I really enjoyed the crust on the pizza — just a little burnt, perfect! Overall a great experience. Another plus is that they have heaters out front on the sidewalk, so even if you eat al fresco you can stay cozy!

Finally got around to trying Pizzeria Delfina! My 2 girlfriends and I split an appetizer with Asparagus and an egg on top — SO good — and the Margarita Pizza. I gotta admit for me that was not enough food but my 2 friends who I was with weren’t that hungry… next time I need at least a whole pizza to myself. The crust is thin and cooked to perfection. Reason for the 4 stars is because the service wasn’t that great — the server seemed to be rushing us a little and was a little annoyed we only ordered one app and one pizza. oh well, I will still come back!

As the star rating says, this place is A-OK. There were some good things, and some bad things. Came here for Saturday lunch and chose a seat outside right away with no line. A small line formed after us and if you had more than 2 people, you would probably have to wait for a little bit. Anyway, down to the food. It was my first time here, and really my first time in San Fran since moving to the bay area. We ordered the margherita pizza, mozzarella app, and the burrata app. My wife and I may not use common sense sometime, and we though that the +3 next to the $ 10 meant that for $ 13, you could get both. Yea, that’s not the case and we ended up spending $ 23 on cheese appetizers. Mostly our fault, but I think the server should have said something, unless he just think that we look like cheese people. They were both good, don’t get me wrong, but that;s just a lot of dough for cheese. On top of that, it comes with two pieces of bread each, so I asked if I could have a few more slices, and he said sure. Turns out you have to pay and extra $ 2 for that which I wouldn’t have done if I knew, but he didn’t mention that to me so there’s another bummer. The pizza was alright to me. I’m not really a fan of the super thin crust and it was just alright. It’s about a 12 inch pizza so I took 2 pieces home to eat later. I get that this is San Fran and everything is more expensive, but we ended up spending over $ 50 for a meal that I feel could have been $ 25ish. Oh well though, you live and you learn.

I recently had a great experience here on a particularly warm February day! It was nice to sit out on the sidewalk seating and watch the bustling city. We came during off-hours, so no wait. I’ve had many a ‘little gems’ salad over the years, but the one here was perfection with crisp lettuce and a perfect ratio of avocado to dressing. The panna pizza was also solid. You can order half and half toppings, which is a plus. The wine list is excellent, and the waiter was able to describe the wines with the finesse of an expert sommelier. Loved it!

Got take out for dinner with the boyfriend. I was craving pizza and was looking through Postmates. Pizzeria Delfina has a pretty good selection of pizzas here and looking through the Unilocal reviews, it made me want to give it a try! Ordered: Carbonara Pizza: LOVELOVELOVE it. This was on their specials so they don’t have it as a regular. It had Guanciale, 1 farm egg, pecorino, scallions, black pepper. The egg was sunny side up, so the yolk was drizzling everywhere. Highly recommend and a very creative pizza! Neapolitan Meatballs: Delicious. It was not over cooked, just right. Good flavor, smooth. It had pork, beef & veal meatballs w/tomato sauce & crostini! Overall great experience, would definitely come here again and actually go to the place so it’s nice and hot out of the oven!

Put your name on the chalkboard by the door if there’s a wait We sat at the counter and had a nice view of the wonderful chefs stretching dough and putting pizzas in the oven We split two pizzas: four cheese and salciccia Four cheese was saltier than the sausage pizza but both were very good, with a thin crispy crust Lots of soda and beer options. I had Diet Coke and my boyfriend had golden state cider — his usual. Service is fast and friendly!

Expensive but the crust is on par with Zero Zero. It’s thin crust pizza that’s perfectly chewy. Me and the boyfriend shared the arugula proscuitto and each had a glass of the vermentino. $ 18 for a small pie is pricey and not great for sharing if you’re super hungry. We came at 2pm for a late weekend lunch and sat outside with no wait!

Mmmmm Pizzeria Delfina is going to become my new go to spot for Italian pizza. I had heard good things about this place and wanted to go for ages. So glad I finally did! I came on Saturday around 12:30 and waited around 20 minutes for a table inside to open up. They had tables available outside but it was a little chilly so we chose to wait for a table inside. We were pretty lucky because right after we sat down about 5 more parties came and they all had to wait quite a while for tables to open up. Make sure your whole party arrives on time, because they won’t seat you until everyone is there. The restaurant is very small so they have limited seating. The tables are placed in pretty close proximity to each other. They actually turned a 2 person table sideways to fit the 3 of us so they had to bring out one pizza at a time since 2 pizzas wouldn’t fit on our table. Everything we ate was reeaaaallly good! For starters we shared the Zuppa, which is a chilled tomato soup with burrata and black pepper. This is by far the best chilled soup I’ve ever had. It was very flavorful and the burrata cheese was the perfect addition to this dish. For pizzas we shared the Prosciutto Pie and the Salsiccia. We’re meat lovers so we chose pizzas that had meat on them. The Prosciutto Pie had a generous amount of arugula on it and the prosciutto was delicious! If I had to choose, I would probably say the Salsiccia was the better of the 2. It had this amazing housemade fennel sausage that is to die for!!! The fennel is the star of this dish. The bell peppers also added the perfect amount of sweetness and were perfectly cooked. The pizzas were a little pricey. Both were around $ 18, but it’s definitely worth it. All in all, we had a great experience eating here. I definitely want to come back to try the food at Delfina next door.

Comfort can be found in many things. I find it in the pizza here, hence the term«comfort food,» and in having lunch with an old flame of mine whom I find comfort in conversing with. To have someone who truly understands and accepts you is a rare thing indeed, and in this lunch I’ve paired two of my favorite things. Pizza, and my old flame. It can’t get any better than this. My favorite pizza is the pepperoni with the added fennel sausage. Something about the crust makes this pizza perfect for me since I like thin, slightly chewy yet crispy thin crust. Their premium tasty toppings is an added bonus to an already delicious pizza. I’m not sure if it was having lunch with my old flame, or the anticipation of pizza, or the combination of both that made me forget my wallet. But I was so happy to be here, that that is exactly what happened. I left my wallet behind. So now I owe my old flame big time. I wish it was a calculated move, because now we have to see each other again, but it wasn’t. I’m really that forgetful. And after we finished our meal, I joked with my old flame saying, «you’re going to make me say the ‘L’ word aren’t you?» «Love?!?» “No, ‘leftovers,” I joked. And we both laughed. Because that’s exactly what we had after two pizzas and their cheese appetizer and dessert. And that’s why comfort is such an important thing. It makes us feel relaxed. Whether it’s with a specific person, or a favorite food.
