Put it this way, I strategically planned to take a flight with a long layover just so I could go into the city to get my MINTMOJITO. I drive down to Santa Monica every chance I get to get me this coffee. It’s not just a cup of coffee, it’s a cup of minty deliciousness. I wasn’t a coffee drinker but I had one cup of their mint mojito and now I’m all about coffee. The coffee is made to order and crafted so well. People can draw designs in coffee and call it art, but Philz definitely makes coffee making an art. Till my next visit unless, you FINALLY bring it out to Vegas.

I finally made it here and yes, the coffee is outstanding. The service was great and once I navigated the lines for ordering and paying I got my caffeine fix. It is strong! Definitely worth it. And it appears our mayor likes it too, as I happened to run into him on my first trip to Philz :)

First visit to Philz coffee finally today on Memorial day! Been long due since I stayed just a few streets away for more than a month already. Passed by this café many times and got attracted by the aroma of the coffee beans that the café exudes. Could not understand why because the aroma is extraordinary and many cafes which I passed by has no aroma at all! Finally understood today as they sell freshly grind coffee powder from beans in the store. Stepped into the café and was very surprised that as a coffee lover myself, I was taken aback by the names on the menu board! First time ever, I didn’t know how and what coffee to order! They classify their coffee beans according to dark, medium and light roast with fanciful and elaborated names(see photo attached). No worries about that as the barista here is extremely friendly and approachable. I told the barista that this is my first time here and I ask for his recommendation as the names are too fanciful for me. Barista Chargo(sorry if I spell the name incorrectly) is very passionate and very confident about his coffee. He said he could make me the coffee he drinks and if I don’t like it, he could make me another one. I was immediately convinced by his confidence and professionalism. I told him my preference of strong tasting coffee with milk but I needed to sleep so higher caffeine content is not the requirement. He clearly understood and recommended a customised blend of silken splendor plus philtered best. Good on him! I went to the cashier to pay and chitchatted with the extremely friendly cashier and the other barista. The whole experience was very pleasant. Then my coffee was ready and I took my first sip of the freshly made coffee. Barista Chargo asked if I liked the coffee and was concerned. I was astonished by the unique taste of the well blended coffee with the very balance taste of milk. The aroma of the coffee lingered on still in my room as I wrote this review live. I told Chargo that I rate his coffee 4.7 upon 5 and he was very pleased. His passion for coffee is so deep you can see it from his expression if joy. It is thanks to people like him that makes coffee so awesome for us coffee lover to enjoy! I will definitely come back and will definitely become a fan of Philz coffee. I will forget about Pts and SBucks. Those seem like a joke ever since I knew this very high standard Philz coffee. Good job and keep up the excellence! You guys have made me very very happy!

This was the only coffee shop open early enough to get my caffeine fix before heading out to Oakland Saturday morning, and what a pleasant surprise! When you walk in, you’re met with three friendly baristas at each of the three individual stations ready to take your order. The board of coffee choices was overwhelming, but I’d done my Unilocal research and knew to order the Tesora. They have almond milk, so I had them add a splash to my coffee and was in and out of there with my cup of joe and a bottled water in no time flat. I’m a bit of a coffee snob and my beverage was perfectly brewed and not too acidic. Strong, but not bitter or burnt, like so many large chain coffee shops. If you haven’t tried Philz, don’t let the branding put you off, it’s a carefully crafted coffee that won’t disappoint even the most discerning tastes.

Ahhh yummy mint mojito iced coffee and just a stone’s throw from Brenda’s. I was worried that this might be weird but it was done just right, deliciously minty, creamy, not too sweet.

I went to San Fran for vacation for 4 days and we got Philz everyday! I love the layout of the place — each barista has a station to take orders and make the drinks. It’s quite entertaining watching them make the drinks. I tried the Mint Mojito and I loved it! It was such an interesting twist to coffee; I couldn’t get enough of it. I also tried the Mocha Tesora and Jamaican Blue Mountain, both were just as great!

Ehhh… I’m not really sure what the hype is. I had that mint mojito coffee or whatever and the mint was very overpowing. Had you ever had smitten’s mint ice cream?(This reminds me that I need to write them a review) it’s like their ice cream but weirder. I guess if you’re a die hard mint fan it’s for you.

I «Phil» in love with Philz on my very first trip to SF in 2015. Ever since my sister made me to try the Mint Ice Coffee Mojito my mouth salivates and yearns for it all the time. Its like i found what was missing all my life. The taste in Philz is what coffee dreams are made of.(Since im exaggerating i might as well go with it.) ^_– All jokes aside, this has got to be my FAVORITE coffee shop when i visit the Bay Area. Everytime i visit i make it my mission to get my mint ice coffee in addition to Philtered Soul. I’m sad they only have it in SF and LA, i really wish they opened one up in San Diego. However, if they did it I wouldn’t want it to quickly become overated. So my secret relationship with Philz Coffee will be the best reason for me to always go back. My favorite drinks… you must try IF: Mint ice coffee mojito: Creamy, sweet, refreshing and great drink for relaxing. Philtered Soul: For all you dark coffee drinks that love something warm, creamy, dark and something nutty.

Mojito mint coffee is the best I should just quit my job and open one up in east coast. Watch out blue bottle in New York.

When I first had Philz in LA, I was instantly hooked and constantly looking for my next fix. On this trip to SF, I was excited to be in the birthplace of Philz because I would finally be able to have it in its hometown. However, I was quite disappointed with my first Philz experience in San Francisco. I didn’t go to the original location, I went to the one nearest to my hotel. I ordered my usual large mint Mojito iced coffee. It just did not taste good. It tasted watered down and burnt/acidic. I drank most of it because I felt I had to but I couldn’t finish the whole drink because it was just a cup that was too full of disappointment. It pains me to give it 2 stars! It should be 1, but it’s Philz! The space itself looks like an express Philz. There is a separate seating area across the way where there were many people working on their laptops. The staff appeared to be friendly. When there were no customers(other than my friend and I sitting at the little table near the front counter), they were sword fighting with a child(I think she was one of their kids?) and just messing around, running around the tiny shop. I am going to try the original location some time during my trip and hopefully Philz SF can redeem itself.

This Philz location is pretty cool. It’s split into two rooms — one to order food and beverages and the other to do work. I ordered my usual medium Tesora, Philz way. I also got a chocolate croissant which was delicious. Would recommend. Went perfectly with my coffee, especially because the barista warmed it up. The«work» room was a little dirty, but it was passable. It looks like a private events space. Or perhaps there used to be a kitchen there? WiFi is fast. Overall great experience if you’re looking for somewhere to work remotely.

My one & only Philz trip up north! Honestly thought I would’ve visited this place more. But regardless, Philz delivered both in coffee & in service. COFFEE: Got the oh so famous mint mojito. Things always taste better when you’re in the city that it originated from. But also, ANYTHING tastes better when it’s free! Yes friends, free. My original mint mojito ordered was asked to be made with almond milk. But got into a good conversation with the barista who got distracted enough to forget my choice of milk. He redid it quickly & because there really wasn’t much of a crowd, he gave me the other drink on the house which was perfect for my friend! Mint mojito was refreshing & crisp for coffee! The almond milk added a good kick of sweet. SERVICE: The barista was awesome. It was my last night in SF& he gave me some good last minute suggestions but I was so sad I couldn’t fit them in because I was already leaving the next day! Anyway, these are the best types of conversations with baristas. It’s exactly how you become a favorite of theirs! See you again, Philz!

We already have Philz in LA, but coffee just tastes better in SF when the temperature is cooler. I have tried the Mint Mojito Iced Coffee before and loved it. This time, I went for the Tesora. I am no coffee connoisseur, but this blend was so good! The descriptor they had was butter, nut and caramel, and I could definitely relate what I had with that. This location is small, and most people grab their coffee and go wait in line for Brenda around the block. We came here after our brunch at Brenda and sat at the Philz lounge/Deli shop next door to fight our food coma.

I will start by saying that the Apricot Bar was Spectacular!!! It tastes muuuuuuch better than it looks, give it a try. My husband had a coffee and he liked it, it was«different» he said. The weird thing is the sugar/splenda is offered. The coffee is on a cornet, you can miss it if not looking careful because there is only one small sign that says the name of the coffee next to the door. I got there thanks to other Unilocalers — it is not a coffee bar you would find if not going there on purpose. Very recommended!

I was visiting San Fran and just had to see what the fuss was about. Checking out a local coffee spot is usually on the agenda anyway since CG is a big coffee drinker. Alas, this place is awesome! We ordered the gingersnap iced coffee as well as the mint mojito iced coffee. Both of these were damn delicious but the mint mojito definitely stole the show. The coffee is mildly sweetened and had the most subtle mint flavor, topped with a delicious creamy froth and fresh mint. I’ve never quite had anything like it. So refreshing. CG loved it as well. This location was rather small but the staff was very pleasant and the drinks were made quickly. We grabbed seats at the seating area/bagel shop just a few steps away. Ugh Philz, come to New York!

The workers here are awesome. ECSTATIC iced coffee is my fav! No added syrups or artificial junk needed. Just some soy milk and it’s perfect! The mint mojito is always a go-to as well but can be a lil sweet. Use the order ahead app and skip the ridiculous lines. Just go pass the line and pick up to your left.

I’ve visited this location because it was the closest location to where I was staying, but would’ve loved to try other locations as well because this place seemed too small. Nonetheless, their coffee was outstanding. Their Mint mojito ice coffee didn’t disappoint me. Every sip I took was delightful and very refreshing. I applaud for their creativity and originality. Next time I visit SF, this will the first place I stop by. I hope they will keep this item on their menu until I return! On a side note, you may need to ask one of the workers for the code to get you into the bathroom, but this seems to be a common thing around this area.

*5 stars — 0.5 star for inconsistency = 4.5 stars* If I was Beyonce, I would put a ring on you, Mint Mojito. Oh, Mint Mojito. You make me crave you with your perfect amount of sweet and creamy. But sometimes you are just a little too sweet or just not so sweet. I just can’t figure you out. Yet, I still come back for you every time because I know it’s not your fault, but your creator’s. There are times in which your sweetness is hidden at the bottom of your soul. And with every sip I take, you get sweeter and sweeter… Let me just stir you… And Tesora, you are aight.
