This one of the few wine bars on Union, but I would much rather go on Polk or Chestnut than hang out here. The bartenders are very unfriendly and seem they really don’t like the place either.

This place is awesome. The food was DELICIOUS! They were understaffed due to a server not showing up the day after New Years, but their customer service made it all worth it. Our drinks were complimentary and they were sincerely apologetic. In a moment of chaos, a good restaurant is able to handle it like this. Best Marina restaurant hands down!!!

This place was one of our favorites but over the past year, we’ve had one bad experience after another. This culminated to our worst experience yet on 12/19/2015 where we brought 21 of our closest friends to have a simple toast to celebrate our engagement after our Christmas party. We sat down(yes, there were that many open seats) and were quickly greeted with: «oh, you’re not eating? Then you can only sit here for 35mins, then you have to get up because we have people coming.» Lol, apparently we aren’t people. Smh #1. We explained we were simply looking to have a toast and we’d be happy to move to the bar, but the server said it’d be fine and encouraged us to place all our drink orders through him, so we did. 30 mins later… No drinks. Smh #2. I went inside to ask what the hold up was and the wonderful manager(sarcasm) explained: «Our bartender is in a bad mood.» Smh #trifecta. For real, this place was really great, and now it’s terrible and very poorly managed.

This place is amazing! The food is great. I recommend the pizza called the Manny special and the donut holes. Great atmosphere and the drinks are affordable for the city.

Stopped by this cute place on a Saturday early evening to grab a drink and some appetizers after a day of sightseeing. The place was about 1⁄3 full. Sat on the patio and with our teenagers. We were greeted quickly, but our drink order was not taken for 10 minutes, and we had to flag someone down and then we waited ATLEAST another 10 minutes. The drink was good but the beer a little warm. The kids were not even asked if they wanted anything. When the food finally came, they asked the kids if they wanted water, which they did, but it was never brought out. There service was so bad that we almost got up and left before our stuff came. They are clearly only interested in their regulars. The food was good, but I would pick another spot if service matters. I am being generous with a 2 star review, that is how ridiculous it was.

Hello, On Wednesday, August 19th, I left my black, long sleeve, down, «Mountain Hardware» jacket at Ottimista. I have tried to call the number you have listed on the web-site many times, but to know avail. Please do let me know if it was turned in, I would be happy to give a reward – and five stars– for it’s safe return! :))) Thank you!

Absolutely one of the most fun experiences I have had on Union St. The bartender on the weekends, Nick, is amazing. He is very attentive, and is always working hard to make sure that everyone is having a great time. fRANKIE and aLLYSSA are a classic example of two people who obviously have lives that are so boring(and surely have less than adequate sex lives) the only enjoyment they get is from going home after a date to write a Unilocal review. Alyssa and Frankie should see a sex therapist. Good luck.

Ummmm. Why is a piece of hair in my wife’s salad?! And why is the music NOT the same genre of music my wife and I were ready to dance to? To each their own music, however; please don’t incite and lure a couple on a hot date night into a place where the music will be drastically changed all because another party decided to come in and take over the auxiliary cord and play their music. Catherine was nice. But nick on the other hand gave my wife a ten dollar discount. That man doesn’t even deserve to have his name capitalized. He might as well given my wife a boot and said«GTFO(it’s an acronym)». Won’t ever be coming back here again!

Ok, so when we came and sat down in this place… everything was so posh and perfect. But then it went south real quick. Our server was Katherine. She seemed like a sweetheart but j only conversed with her for a whole 10 minutes since she closed out our ticket and went home during our time there. I thought we were guna eat, drink, and cut a rug… but little did I know the DJ was just an auxiliary cord available to anyone for their phones to play music. After 10 minutes of chill music a group came in and blasted country music wayy too loud. Too loud for me to think. And this is supposed to be a small chillax café right?! Then the icing on the cake… wait for it… A huge hair in my salad. Disgusting. And of course our server went home, so I had to ask the bartender to help me. His resolution was just a simple«sorry» and he handed me $ 10 for the salad. Never again.

The worst place I’ve ever seen in my life. The service was slow, they don’t pay attention to the needs of their customers.

Great happy hour specials, love the polenta fries! They also offer gluten free options, always a plus. Ordered the appetizer meat and cheese platter– only two small slices of cheese! So sad. Meat was less than desired. Five stars for happy hour menu but was so disenchanted by appetizer we left instead of having dinner.

Great happy hour! My friends and I always come here for wine and bruschetta. The Gorgonzola and red pepper bruschetta is definitely our favorite. The pizzas are really good too with a decent selection. I like the americano pizza best. This is a great spot for a wine night but also great for sport events! We watched the Warriors game here and it was a great atmosphere! Sometimes the staff can be a little distracted but other than that this place is awesome!

The pizza was either frozen or made by the worst chef on the planet. Literally cardboard hard, making dominos pizza look gourmet. Noticed other folks questioning the pizza, which is frozen, store bought or using one of those horrible pizza presses. The spaghetti was an over cooked mess, with a watery sauce that had way too much garlic. Service was just fine. People seemed to enjoy the drinks. My daughter loves pizza and pasta and she didn’t eat the food — she’s five.

I came here on a Saturday night for a birthday dinner. I shared the Margherita pizza, which was good, a bit thin for my taste, but still enjoyable. And I had a slice of the Americano pizza, which was pretty great, normally not big on arugula, but it meshed perfectly with the prosciutto! Oh and the wine was fine. I wish I had known about the ricotta donuts, cause those sound insanely good. Bottom line: If you’re in the Marina and like Italian food with some options, check it out.

One of my new favorite places in SF! We came in on a warm night and got to sit in their cute outside seating area. The food was excellent, we enjoyed every single dish we ordered. Highly recommend the bruschetta to start with their Sauvignon Blanc. For main courses, I ordered the Salmon with Risotto and he ordered Chicken Piccata with Seared Vegetables. Both were cooked impeccably. I can confidently say that my salmon dish was possibly the best salmon dish I have ever had while eating out, I have already raved about it to multiple people. Also, the Ricotta Donuts with Chocolate Sauce are an absolute must. You would be doing yourself a disservice if you left without eating dessert(applicable in every life situation). Great service too, will be back for sure!

I came in at 10:30 on a Monday night, and it was exactly what I needed. This review is for the bar only, and it was great. Dimly lit, warm, clean, inviting, with interesting cocktails and a solid wine offering. +1 for the many wifi options(patio wifi, bar wifi, staff wifi). Most people were here on dates, but if you want a place to work on your laptop at a relaxed italian bar, this is a great option.

We had a little table here on an off hour of the day and got a chance to relax on their patio, which was nice. We weren’t so impressed b

I came here with Guillaume B. and Shirley Y. for some post Unilocal after-party fun. T’was a Tuesday night and I was still ready to party!(Wednesday morning, I regretted this decision very much so…) We ended up at this spot. There wasn’t much happening(I think the crowd left). We had the bar all to ourselves. Danny was our bartender and he was awesome! I talked about my love for Marshawn Lynch(Go Bears!) and my love for the 49ers… yes…that’s allowed. Our drinks came in super cute glasses and they were nice and strong! $ 10 for their drink special. I forget what it was called but it had a nice bit of whiskey, and that’s what I like. I would definitely come here again. The bartender is handsome and knows his football and country music. The company was excellent, and the drinks were great! I’m curious to try their food. I like the atmosphere of the place and you can even watch some good sports. I’m planning to make tennis the new sport to watch(UYE coming… June 8th).
