I have lived here for over 10 years. The owners are some bizarre fake entity called GRM properties. They refuse to fix anything. They have canceled pest control in the past causing infestation. They don’t give notice when they shut off the water sometimes. As soon as someone moves out they«remodel» the studios with hardwood floors and call them 1 bedrooms. Don’t move here unless you are just never gonna be home.

I lived at this address for 2 years. In 2012, it was purchased by GRM Properties. The previous owners didn’t seem that interested in renovating or keeping up the place, but once GRM moved in, the building got new carpet, new paint, updated and improved gates and a lot of other minor improvements. While these were all nice, they were also accompanied by a rent increase for capital improvements. A lot of residents cried foul saying that the renovations were disparate to the rent increase. I lived in a small 200 square foot studio. It had new wooden floors and was pretty nice. The Rickshaw Stop is right next door, so there were some loud nights, but it never bothered me that much. Some bikes were stolen from the common area once on New Year’s Eve. I never really had any problems with the apartment itself though, and the only time I needed to contact GRM was when they changed the gate keys in response to the bike thefts and I needed to get a new one. I emailed them first but they didn’t get back to me in 2 days, so I called them directly and the owner immediately drove over to give me a key. I don’t know if my email just got lost or sent to the wrong address, but they’re certainly responsive. I had to move on short notice but my rental agreement required me to give a 30 day notice prior to moving. I contacted GRM and told them that I needed to leave, and they said that I’d still have to pay the remainder of the month, but they could try to get someone else in and pay me back the remainder. I was a little worried about this because it would have been easy for them to claim that the apartment was damaged after I left and decline to refund my deposit or the remainder of my last month of rent, but they sent me a check 2 weeks after I left.
