Stephanie is a fantastic Barber. I’ve been going to her for more years than I can remember and she always gives a great cut. Her prices are reasonable and she can always catch you up on what’s going on in the neighborhood. Call for an appointment she’s great. Bonus points for being a world class doll maker with her work on display in the shop.

Stephanie is a great barber and a great conversationalist. But the real reason I started going to Of Barbers and Bears is because of the confidence she showed over the phone when we asked if she is comfortable cutting curly hair. Her answer was a confident «yes» with no hesitation and rightfully so. I get a great haircut every time and I’m very picky… I don’t want to look like a poodle and I don’t want to look like I just got a haircut. It has to be «just right.»
And so it has!

My boyfriend has been getting his hair cut by Stephanie for over 20 years and he is extremely happy with her work. She listens to her clients and does a great job. He always gets compliments on his hair. (he would write this himself but he doesn’t have a Unilocal account!!)

Stephanie is great! When I first came to SF, over 15 years ago, i was looking for a good barber. I was tired of salons and salon prices. I found Stephanie and never looked back. She does a great job, she’s full service, and i always enjoy our chats. Call ahead because she is often booked up, especially on Saturdays.

Stephanie has been my barber for many years. Very pleasant to talk to (we share an interest in kayaking) and it’s always a great haircut at a very reasonable price. She’s also very timely. I’ve never waited over a minute or two for her chair to open up.

Of Barbers & Bears is the quintessential barber that so many new age barbers try to emulate, but somehow fall short. I was so impressed by Mike and Stephanie that I decided to write my first Unilocal review ever. I just moved to Noe from Manhattan, where I went to several barbers along Freeman’s Alley and stylists in SOHO. While OB&B may not have comparable ambiance, OB&B has talented barbers who give clean cuts and close shaves. They make up for their simple décor with great conversations, reminding me of the barber I went to growing up with a price point to match. While I was getting my haircut, two other customers commented that they have been going to OB&B for over 20 years! Add me to the list of lifetime customers.

No walk-​ins, but when you finally get around to making that appointment, it’s pretty sweet to be able to just walk in and sit down for your haircut.
