$ 25 to be surrounded by drunken d-bags and buy overpriced, mediocre beer and food.

They should call this Line-a-palooza. It’s basically a series of lines, wait in line for the atm for 15 minutes, then wait in line to exchange money for tokens(wtf for? a naked money grab if ive ever seen one) for another 15 minutes, wait in line for a mediocre Spaten beer(4 tokens=8 bucks, no other varieties), then for another 10 minutes wait in line for different for overpriced food. This over priced food and beer is after you already spent 25 bucks for an admission ticket. its set in a warehouse that captures in all the noise and polka music, forget trying to have a conversation. This is by FAR the worst Octoberfest ive ever been to. Better off going to a bar for a quarter of the price and wait time.

parking not the easiest, the price of food inside is ridiculously expensive, makes one wonder why they charge an admissions fee when they gouge you on the food and drink the highlight were the fried pickles, which btw were about 8 dollars

Octoberfest 2013 was lacking in value. Ticket prices at first glance were affordable, and Octoberfest is a time for celebration. I have attended beer tastings and events in which the ticket price covered all drinks for the evening in San Francisco. While it was obvious drinks were not included in ticket pricing, I expected a comparable overall value. This would not be the case. Beer and food prices were close to the same rates I would paying had I brought my friends to any other bar around San Francisco. Perhaps higher. The rates were consistent with artificially expensive prices in the beer garden at a major music event. I feel that the yearly event misses an opportunity to be truly great by combining the value of a beer tasting event and the Octoberfest theme. This would bring me out every year. As things currently stand, for future years I’m much more likely to simply seek out one of the many German pubs or biergarten’s around the city. Once was enough.

Tix are $ 25 each but 2 for one on Sunday. Good music, good beer, good food. Goulash was exceptional! The potato pancakes not so much. Too bad this is only one weekend out of the year. They could run this several weekends and I’m sure there would be no shortage of beer drinkers and other revelers.
