Nicco Tyson

Nicco is a great guy, easy to work with, knows a lot about African guitar styles and rhythms (which is very rare I’ve found) and has a flexible work schedule. Very laid back plus very knowledgeable. I’ve learned a lot from him and would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to get their feet wet with these styles.

If you’re looking to learn guitar, look no further than Nicco! He’s been my guitar teacher for a few years now, and he continues to encourage and inspire me. Three key qualities make him an amazingly talented teacher: he’s passionate, patient and positive.
His passion for music is contagious. He’s a musician at the core, and knows how to play a huge range of styles. Everything from reggae to flamenco to classic rock and indie to the blues. Whatever song interests me, he can teach it.
As for patience, I am a super beginner with no prior music knowledge. He will go over the same thing with me a million times, and do so with a smile. He also knows how to break things down into simple concepts, and will explain things in different ways, until you can get it. I know he also teaches kids, and I’m sure he’s great with them. His patience runs so deep.
Nicco’s positive attitude always motivates me. His bright energy lends a lightness to the lessons that always make them fun. This guy is all heart, but is also grounded and reliable. I tried a few different teachers who just didn’t stick for me. Nicco is a keeper! I’m so glad I found him, and you will be too.

I’ve been taking guitar lessons from Nicco for a couple months with a good friend of mine. I am so pleased and impressed that he has taught us so much in an incredibly short period of time.
He kind, warm-​hearted, patient, super positive and so encouraging. Nicco makes things fun and easy to understand and is just a pleasure to be around. He is a real gem and I wholeheartedly recommend taking lessons from him. He is indeed humble but when you hear him play it is clear he is able to teach at any level.

I am a beginner and Nicco was very patient with getting me started. We worked through the basics and into some tunes very quickly. Nicco, despite his off-​the-​charts harmonica talents is very modest and moved at my plotting speed. He is intelligent, engaging, warm and open. As for his skill, see his video on YouTube. Nicco is a good friend and good teacher. I’ve known him for the better part of a year and have recently started Harmonica lessons with him. He understands the process of learning, and does a great job identifying where I’m at as a student and challenging me with material that is at my level. More importantly, he’s got a big heart and is always kind. Couldn’t ask for a better Harmonica teacher or friend!
