These are great courts. Not perfect, but great. I’m pretty sure the court is the same material as a «hard court» tennis court(and it’s the same green color). There are some cracks, but nothing major where you’d trip. The rims are even and upright. The nets are always in place and unbroken. The lines on the courts are well-painted and clearly visible. There’s also lots of random markings, which is perfect for a game of HORSE to designate a shooting spot. I think the lights for the courts stay on until 10pm, and they provide decent coverage– enough to see the rims. One down side is that there’s a lot of wind on the courts. I’m not claiming to be a sharpshooter, but the gusts will definitely alter a shot now or then. Every once in a while there will be pickup games going. From my experience, everyone there was friendly and no one was too competitive. For those that do not know, there are two courts in the park. One on the Fillmore side(or closer to Fillmore, behind the library) and the other is along Laguna.
