Bar Bites on Happy Hour are great, but where are the drinks/cocktails? Most Bar 12 – 21 have cocktails/drinks on HH as well, but the one in SF does not. Plan accordingly, otherwise you’ll be paying a pretty penny for beverages.

I contacted Morton’s Restaurant in San Francisco, CA. to book a reservation in New York City, N.Y. for our 14th Anniversary. In New York we were greeted by the General Manager Kimberly Geherin who stated every detail was set for our V.I.P. night. Our Server //Wine Steward was Jeff Keene he was amazing. The service, dinner and wine were excellent. A very memorable evening. If you get the filet mignon. Make sure roads the blue cheese butter. Mmmmm yes. Great sides are the cream spinach and Mac n cheese. I really want to try the soufflé next.

The service is horrible waited at least 40 minutes for some bar bites today while I watched several customers come in after my husband and I, order and get their food. I inquired twice with the waitress who claimed that the cheeseburger sliders were taking a long time The sliders arrive and they were over well done when I asked for Medium the sliders were the size of small meatballs I asked for the Manager a guy named Clarence came over and claimed that he was one of the managers but he was dressed as though he just came in off the street. I told him what happened but it was like he didn’t care he was so nonchalant about it so we left and did not eat !!! Ridiculous. I am also leaving a complaint on their website!!!

The happy hour is decent especially if you couldnt afford to eat here normally but its not some place to come with a ton of coworkers to get trashed. Its a bit more classy of an establishment and great to bring a boss or date. I recommend the Spinach, Crab and Artichoke dip $ 7(HH). I dont recommend the tri tip sandwiches(kinda sad considering Morton’s is known for their meat).

I came here while waiting for a play to start next door the the SF Playhouse. As I was sitting down a server came to greet me and explained the happy hour food menu — which means no drink specials unfortunately. I asked her which she preferred, the tri tip sandwich or the sliders and she said one of my favorite things that a server can say. «The tri tip is really popular because we’re a steak place but the sliders are amazing.» Instead of just telling me what was popular, she actually told me which was better. And boy was she right! The sliders were cooked almost rare — which is rare(get it?) for places to do that anymore. So juicy and melt in your mouth. Salty but in a fantastic way. I also ordered the house cab which was decent. It was cheaper than any of the wines listed on the menu, so if you’re looking for a small deal and aren’t particular, just order«house» and who knows it may save you a couple dollars. I wish I could remember my servers name. She was wonderful. Checking on me just enough and commenting on how awesome it looked to be sitting, eating, and reading. I sat in the bar with my burgers and wine and book and enjoyed a fabulous hour to myself and since I have season tickets, I’ll probably do it again.

Listen up boozehounds! You’ll spend a pretty penny on alcohol here, I mean $ 12 for a Tanqueray and Tonic?! holy hell. Save your money and spend it on food instead! Parmesan truffle matchstick fries and petit filet mignon sliders are only $ 6 each during happy hour. Say what? Yeah! $ 6 make ya HOLLA! That’s wassup!

Good wine, and spirit choices, they could improve their beer selection. Service at the bar ranges from really good to just so so. The Petite Filet Mignon Sandwiches are out of this world good; wow!

Good for older, conservative crowd. Not the best beer selection. Standard chain food. Happy hour menu was deceiving. Cautiously note the two different times that happy hour is available.

by far the single best Happy Hour in town! Hands Down! great food and drinks at great prices. We will visit the Happy Hour at Morton’s in every town we visit. SF has one of the friendliest staffs around and we enjoy sitting at the bar to enjoy great food, great drinks, great bartender and great prices! Loads of fun mid day if you are shopping in Union Square.

Not impressed. We ordered a mojito that tasted like no other mojito I’ve had in my life(it was terrible) and some bar snacks(which were actually pretty good). The atmosphere is nice, but the sunday evening bartender needs to be replaced by someone more competent. For the price, Morton’s is not worth your time.

Stopped by for drinks and a bite to eat after work tonight. I actually do this about once a month. Ordered drinks, truffle fries and a crab cake blt. Our drinks came right away. About 20 minutes into our drinks the waitress stopped by to drop off food. Turned out it was someone else’s so she took it away. Another 15 minutes went by and I asked again about our food. Waitress said she had checked on it and it would be ready soon. Another 15 minutes and another drink later still no food. Gave up and asked for the check. Waitress apologized and brought us the check. She pointed out that we had not been charged for the food. Well thanks, Johanna since we didn’t get the food it was kind of you not to charge us. Won’t be going back anytime soon, if at all.

Birthday appetizers, first stop: I actually ordered something other than a Bombay Mortini. Miracles do happen! It was marinating in pineapple, a little sour, and a little sweet. It was a good start to pull me away from the classic drinks here. I’m not entirely sure what it was so probably won’t be ordering it again though. It pared well with the Mini Crab Cake BLT’s, sort of. Even if I didn’t love their cocktails oh so much, I would still stop by for the crab cakes.

While visiting San Francisco, a friend(Lily, for you Vegas Unilocalers) was kind enough to pick me up at airport; after a 4hr flight delay and a daredevil search for parking we happened into Morton’s. The Bar area is hopping at Happy Hour: two kind gentleman moved so we could sit(the last kindness shown by anyone there…) We started out with one half dozen oysters, tuna tacos(actually chopped ahi between fried won ton skins, good but hard to eat) and truffled fries. The bartender was almost impossible to flag down, literally walking away several times without asking for(or listening to) order. My martini was good, Lily asked to taste a Chardonnay before ordering(no drink specials at Happy Hour) and he was kind of a dick about that, too. He did ask if we wanted bread, which he brought and it was warm and good, served with whipped butter. What was neither warm nor good was the service: it is not like we parked for hours and did not order; we had a second round of drinks and oysters… but it was a chore to be noticed. Sitting right in front of him. We started to joke that we were invisible. There were many obvious regulars on hand and they were greeted and treated well, but it just kinda sucked to be us. The oysters were very good, and reasonable at $ 2.50 each. Tacos were ok, and truffle fries were only truffle-y at top. Would have been a 3.5 on food and drink, but when Happy Hour is $ 90 before tip and you treat customers like you are doing them a favor by serving them = not cool. I’d not return or suggest for those in San Francisco, too many options to deal with this BS… next!

Morton’s restaurant is a classy spot and being that the food is well worth the price of admission I could only hope as much for it’s «newer» bar concept 12 – 21. I was pleasantly surprised and as the drinks kept flowing with generous pours you’d hardly notice the large bill that came at the end. Morton’s prime burger is a few meals packed into one plate. The thing is LARGE and you don’t need much else with all of the fixings attached. The flavors pour out of the burger(literally) with each bite you take. And the new smaller french fries are a delightful sidekick. Check out the other options on the bar menu as they have earned their right to be at a Morton’s establishment as well. Best way to go is nice attire with a great cocktail and conversation. If you ever feel lonely on a business trip, chat it up with the bartenders and I’m sure you’ll feel at home in no time.

Morton’s bar 12 – 21 is what you make it. A chill spot for you and yours guys or maybe a impromptu romantic evening based on the time you decide to drop into Bar 12 – 21. The bar is fabulous the bartenders are great at the drinks that they make and make well and will take special request if the drink you want isn’t on the drink menu. I’m going to say avoid the spa-tini drinks; some drinks just should be sugar free or turned into a diet drink. Definitely dive in on the Bar Bites! The mini prime burger are super fantastic and those fillet Mignon sandwiches. Also don’t be shy you can order from the full Morton’s menu and eat in the bar. I don’t know about the Happy Hour but all I can say is they really don’t need because you’re getting top shelf food and service. I don’t go to Bar 12 – 21 often but when I do go I have a wonderful time and I’m very well taken care of.

If for some reason you decide to wander on in Morton’s for dinner and find the waiting list to be too long, never fear, they serve the full menu at the bar. This was mighty helpful for my BF and I who spontaneously decided we wanted to eat at Morton’s but didn’t want to wait an hour and a half to be seated. We didn’t spring for anything during the HH and just went all in. I ordered the Coppola Claret and he ordered… well, to be honest I forgot which wine he got but both were splendid. While waiting for our food we got the very tasty bread which I happily nibbled on till my salmon arrived. For the food, it was great; we ordered the sauteed spinach and mushrooms to accompany the meal and they were so good. I had the Broiled Salmon Fillet which was perfectly prepared and came with a great sauce. My BF had the Filet Mignon and I do have to mention that it was a bit too seared on the outside; it tasted great but I know he was slightly disappointed by the sear. Overall, good experience, good service, despite the minor mishap with the food, it was still pretty delicious.

Review for Happy Hour Only. I’ve posted the same review under Morton’s Steakhouse. I’m posting this here also since there is a separate entry here on Unilocal for their bar. Before I went to Morton’s, I had the hardest time finding info about their happy hour so I’m going to tell you what’s up right here. First of all, I’m not sure why their bar has another name, Morton’s Bar 12 – 21. It’s only a bar area inside the restaurant, you will have to go in the same door as Morton’s Steakhouse. Once you walk in, you will see the dining area on the left and bar area on the right. I say this because when you search online including Unilocal, both Morton’s Steakhouse and Morton’s Bar 12 – 21 comes up. Not only did I have a hard time finding info on their happy hour, I was getting confused when both of these places came up when it’s actually the same place. It’s really just one place and that is Morton’s Steakhouse. Granted, the happy hour special is only available in the bar area. The bar area is fairly big, there are tables also, not just a bar counter. HH Hours Monday-Friday 5:30pm(5pm Fri.)-6:30pm AND9pm-11pm HH Menu Iceberg Wedge Bites — $ 6 Fresh Cut Potato Chips — $ 6 Chicken Goujonettes(fried chicken strips) — $ 6 Mini Crab Cake BLTs — $ 7 Smoked Salmon Pizza — $ 7 Prime Cheeseburgers — $ 7 Four Petite Filet Mignon Sandwiches — $ 7 NOHHDRINKSPECIALS. For those who are not big drinkers like me: Soda — $ 4.25(bottomless) Iced tea — $ 3.95(bottomless) We had the crab cake BLTs and petite filet mignon sandwiches. The crab cake BLTs(3 sliders/order) were good but the filet mignon sandwiches(4 bite size sandwiches) lacked flavor. Although, the beef was very soft and tender, it needed to be seasoned. The service was great, they offered us bread while we were waiting for the dishes to come out, of course we said yes. A whole loaf of onion bread came out hot and fresh. It was great. We saw grand marnier soufflé on their regular menu and could not resist. It was $ 18.50 but it’s meant for 2 to share. It was made well but didn’t taste good. I didn’t taste the grand marnier at all. It was also served with whipped cream instead of a sauce. I don’t recommend it. Overall, it was quite disappointing. I expected much more from Morton’s. There are many better places for HH in downtown SF. Like Farallon few doors down.

Food is good but be aware… They charged my card twice. Pay with CASH! I’m dead serious. Weird! I’ve been here many times but for some reason the waitress did something wrong.

The staff here is very nice, though a bit confused. After trying to order their signature Cool as a Cucumber cocktail, we were informed they could not make it because the bar was out of Absolut100. I asked if they could replace the Absolut with another vodka. The answer was no; the reason was that if they made the drink with a different vodka, it would mess up the POS count and affect the computer inventory. So I asked what would have happened if when I ordered the drink, I had requested it be made with Grey Goose instead of Absolut. After about 15 minutes of back and forth between our cocktail waitress, the bartender, and eventually speaking with a manager, my incredibly logical solution(in my mind) was finally allowed. At least it was a good drink. The bar bites are a great deal and really good, especially the Iceberg Wedge Bites. They serve the restaurant’s full menu in the bar, which is nice in theory. The Double Chocolate Mousse is very decadent, though a bit oily.
