As expensive as it was bad. I’m not bummed about the money, I just wish I had my appetite back.

Sleek, modern-looking bar in the middle of the new 3E boarding area, but, alas, appearances are only skin-deep. Even after taking into account normal airport overpricing, the bang for the buck that you get here is a mere whimper. Salads and more protein-heavy entrees are all laughably undersized relative to the price, and even taste-wise you might do better with soylent. Being generous with a second star only because they do have a couple of beers on tap that aren’t quite the watery mass-market variety, and for the full bar.

First, I should start this review by stating that their $ 18 turkey club sandwich is nothing to write home about. It was ‘okay’, but I have had a lot of airport food, and it left a lot to be desired. Actually, the fact that I even thought of it as ‘airport food’ when it was $ 18 should tell you enough. But, that being said, an expensive-but-mediocre sandwich would never have elicited a negative review on its own. I arrived at the airport very early(worrying about the typical Monday travel traffic) but was pleasantly surprised to find it was pretty quiet. I arrived at Mission, took a seat at the bar, and ate said turkey club sandwich and a glass of wine. With a couple hours until my flight departed(what can I say, I really zipped through security!) I moved to a seat, after paying for my meal + drink at the bar, intending on ordering an additional glass of wine and diving into work. Despite there being only 3 tables in use(with about 20 remaining empty) I was asked to either move back to the bar, go to the lounge area(where there are no tables, thus tougher to get into a groove on your laptop), or leave the restaurant. I mean, I get it, they don’t want people taking up a table for a glass of wine on a busy night… but, it was empty, and I had JUST eaten at the bar(would they have excused me, had I finished my sandwich at the table and requested a second drink?). I asked about the sandwich-at-the-bar variable, but the man who excused me said«sorry, it’s not my fault, it’s just policy, you know?». Super helpful contribution, and great branding. So, now I am at a table at an alternate restaurant, delving into work(ehem, this review, and then work), and won’t plan on visiting Mission again. I travel about once a week out of SF for work, and will look forward to kicking back somewhere less rigid(again, had it been a typical Monday evening at the airport I would have completely understood the policy enforcement).

Besides charging a $ 10 plus tax for a beer. The bartender don’t even bother with a change. Here’s your single star scumbags!

For airport restaurant, this place is good. Nice food and some drinks before flying definitely relaxing.

I had the boneless chicken wings with honey sriracha sauce and they were sooo delicious. The service was fast and the servers were all so attentive. My water was actually refilled multiple times without me asking! Definitely one of the better airport restaurants to eat at.

No pictures this time,(I was so hungry!) But I got the cheeseburger. The service was prompt and friendly, with the exception of our waiter, whose shift ended in the middle of our meal, and rushed a payment so he’d be tipped. Understandable, and he was diligent for the rest of the meal. Where they lost the star is in food quality. My burger was plain, and would’ve been too bland to eat if I hadn’t gotten a bottle of ketchup. One of the better airport sit-downs I’ve been to in my frequent travels. Four stars, and it might’ve been five if I had gotten something else.

Good food, horrible and slow service(plan on spending at least an hour here). They don’t allow parties of 2 to sit at the 4-seater tables, although after we were seated(at a 2 person table) the host sat a couple there anyways. Pretty overpriced menu($ 4 for a Diet Coke and $ 21 for a salad). However, it’s clean and bright and have real knives opposed to plastic knives(which are common at airport restaurants). I probably won’t come back to this place.

5 star for airport, but actually, I would have given it 5 anyway! Couldn’t suggest anything to be any better today! Host offered bar seat for speed. I don’t usually do the bar, but this place feels so nice I was comfortable with it. Very efficient, pleasant staff, from host to bartender. Service was prompt but not pushy. Bartender adjusted drinks as requested, he really got my requests! I asked input of kale salad(YUM) add chx(safe) or salmon; he said salmon. I only wanted salmon if it’s GOOD. Salmon was TRULY perfectly cooked, not overdone, which is amazing. Bartender was attentive & watching, but left me alone to read & talk with neighbors until I made eye contact, then he was right there like a psychic :-) I noticed staff really works as a team at all levels. If this place were near me in the neighborhood, we’d go there often!

This is a pretty good place to dine in for an airport restaurant if you have a long layover. I got the chicken kabob and mimosa and both were delicious. Louis is the man! His customer service was great. Would def dine here again if ever Im back in SFO.

For an airport restaurant, this place isn’t bad. Not sure if I was famished or whatnot, but I ordered a burger and bowl of chowder here. I enjoyed both and thought that the food wasn’t the usual shit I normally get at a lot of other airport restaurants. Now bear in mind this doesn’t mean that the food is four stars compared to places outside of the airport. but rather the four star rating I gave is in relation to other similar airport restaurants. It’s good they have a bar here and I like how the seating is fairly comfortable and spacious which is helpful when you’re lugging a stupid carry on bag around. The service was friendly and all in all I was glad I was able to kill a good amount of time here and still be able to enjoy some decent food.

Meh. Food was mediocre and $ 10 for a beer? Bartender was pretty aloof and I asked for a side of guac for my fish tacos(which aren’t labeled as fried on the menu) and she brought me a $ 4 plate of guac with no chips or anything to eat it with.

Nothing too fancy, and definitely has airport pricing. I got the cheeseburger and fries, and while I felt like it took too long to come out, the waiter was very accomodating and even brought out my food in a to-go container so i wouldn’t miss my flight. The service was decent– very friendly waiter, but food and drink service was slow. Not too terrible if you’re trying to kill time before a flight. The food was actually very good — my fries were cooked perfectly, and were seasoned with what tasted like parsley and salt. Very tastey. I wouldn’t mind eating here again if I ever found myself hungry and waiting on my plane to arrive.

Not a bad spot, the fish tacos were great and my salmon fantastic(though the dressing on my kale salad was way too lemon-y). However, the long wait for our food caused us to cut it way too close on our flight! THEWAIT There’s a short line at the host stand to get seated, but that’s super quick. Plenty of quick turnover(around 1pm on a Friday). THESERVICE Friendly & professional. However, our food took a good 15 – 20 minutes to come out, which was very long for an airport restaurant. We ended up cutting it really close because we didn’t account for lunch taking this long. I just wouldn’t rely on this place for a quick meal after this experience. THECOST $ 66 total for one beer, one starter, and one salad for lunch. Pricey! STARTERS * Fish Tacos & Fries($ 16) — 4 stars Surprisingly good! Excellent crispy batter on the fish. A little lackluster on the toppings for me(though my boyfriend thought it was the perfect amount), but the fried fish is the real star here. The fries are large, a bit floppy, wedge-like in texture(I really liked it, but if you like crispy fries, this isn’t for you), but it comes with maybe 8 fries(they are pretty big though). SALADS * Kale Salad(cherry tomatoes, cucumber, feta cheese, roasted nuts, dried cranberries, lemon & extra virgin olive oil dressing. $ 17, add salmon $ 9) — 3 stars While the salmon was pretty dang good, the lemon in the salad dressing was WAY too strong! If they’d had more cranberries, cheese, tomatoes to cut that intense sour flavor, it would have been much better. See my photos for additional details.

It’s overpriced for the quality you get, but it’s pretty good quality for the airport. I’ve come to Mission Bar & Grill on a few occasions and have been impressed by the responsive service. They seat you, take your order, and are very attentive. Overall, the ambience feels like a chill place to have a power lunch/dinner(bonus points if in a foreign language), work on your masterpiece coding/novel/graphic design, or dick around before your flight. They have a decent selection of cocktails, wine, and beers. The bar has a modern-futuristic look to it, so high expectations for them being able to create the craft cockatail of your choice. The beer list is full of typical California classics(not a bad thing, especially considering Anchor Brewing is AOL). The food is generally modern American with a Mexican twist – think burgers, quesadillas, entrée salads, tacos, hummus plate, etc. The food is made to order and good quality. The greens are fresh and they paid attention to our dressing-on-the-side request. The burger was closer to medium than the medium-rare we requested, and one bun had aioli when we requested no aioli. However, they promptly swapped it out for a fresh bun after we pointed it out. Overall, the quality of the food is great, will keep you in great shape(read: no diarrhea) for your flight, and has generous servings. The prices are airport-standard(read: a few dollars more than what you’d expect than at a normal establishment serving these dishes). Apparently, they also serve breakfast, but I’ve never been around for it. Bloody Mary, anyone?

This is pretty much your only bar option in the terminal so take it or leave it. For $ 16, you’d think they’d give you more than a ¼ or 1⁄3 lb. patty on the burger, but at least it was good, as were the fries. They’ve got Mexican Coke in the bottle! Bitter espresso. Excellent service and wine options.

United Airlines has thoroughly botched my mission to Texas on this day, and had to break me off with some gash-dag compensation! So I took my two $ 7.00 food and beverage vouchers and killed some time at the Mission Bar & Grill. A double gin and tonic, right around $ 16. Mixed well, bar tender was friendly enough. The guy next to me was eating something that looked amazing, and after sneaking several peeks at just what, I finally asked him. Turns out it was boneless buffalo chicken, not breaded, but grilled. Looked amazing. Then the guy asks me if I want to try them. I should have said yes, since it was a nice gesture. But I declined, and made up some crap about having just eaten, and how«oh I couldn’t fit even one more bite.» Not one little taste to humour the guy? How lame. I need to work on that. When someone offers you something, it’s an opportunity to be nice and accept it! It’s not like he was foaming at the mouth, or gross looking or anything.

The food selections are very vast and unique. The tables and bar area are presented with class and modern sophistication. My server was very attentive and very customer service oriented. He even made an excellent recommendation of adding fresh avocado to my wrap. I had the falafel wrap($ 11) with a mixed green salad. It was VERY well prepared and was practically melting in my mouth. I would highly recommend the Falafel Wrap. If you find yourself in the United Terminal, I’d highly recommend Mission Bar & Grill.
