I still love Miguel and highly recommend him. I’ve been seeing him since 2008 (!!!) and I am so sad to hear that he is moving to Sacramento. Miguel knows hair. Period. His listens to my requests and tells me if I’m being a little too crazy. ;) He understands color too. I get complimented all of the time on my highlights. He is reasonably priced and very fun to work with!
Also, I just got married and had Miguel do my up-​do for my wedding. It turned out great. I got so many compliments on it! I normally have very fine, very flat hair. In 90 minutes, Miguel turned my hair into a gorgeous up-​do with body that lasted over 16 hours!

I looked all over Unilocal looking for a place to get my hair done, I usually go to my friend to get a highlights and haircut, but he left town and moved out. Im very particular when it comes to my hair, it took me a while many months.
Then I found Miguel here on Unilocal,he cut my hair, highlights and base color, I was soooo… amazed very impressed about the result. He was meticulous and patient. He treated my hair very gently. I love the way he cuts, colored and highlighted my hair… my husband liked it very much.
I will definitely return to him on my next hair and color/​highlight and I will highly recommend him to all my family and friends.

I have been going to Miguel for 4 years now. He’s highly skilled at what he does, very professional, good for relaxed, fun conversation, and offers a great value in a cool SF location in the heart of the Castro.
When I relocated from Santa Monica to SF I struggled to find a good option. Now that I have, I’m going to keep coming back.

I was in San Fran for the weekend and wanted to get a blow out for my friends wedding. Decided to get a cut also. I am incredibly happy with my haircut, and the blowout is the best one I ever had. He is also a very nice person, considerate, and has a great personality. I definitely plan to return to him whenever I am in San Fran again. Plus, I got tons of compliments on my hair.

I’ll tell you a secret: I used to have crazy, long, out-​of-​control curly hair. I looked like Howard Stern. My hair was kind of embarrassing. I needed to do something about it, but I wasn’t sure what.
Then a friend recommended Miguel. He made my hair awesome! I dig it. Girls like to play with it. I’ve been coming back ever since :)

Like what everyone else said, he is a professional with using scissors. I showed him a picture of what type of hairstyle i wanted and no doubt, he delivered. He knew how to work around with my hair and was always asking if i was satisfied. A great guy and will definitely come back for another haircut!

A friend (who already has a stylist) suggested Miguel to me after watching him work from the attached spa. He took me under his wing and has slowly, painstakenly helped me recover from a series of recent bad haircuts that had left my curly locks unkempt and unmanageable. He is extremely skilled, patient, and reasonably priced — a difficult combination to achieve in his chosen field.

Can I just tell you how exciting it is to have your hair cut by someone with skill who uses scissors and doesn’t rely on a #2 guard clipper?
Miguel is kind, he’s funny, his price point is excellent, but most importantly, he knows what he’s doing and takes his time doing it.
He’s gained a new client in me and I will definitely be going back again and again.

Miguel is a very talented stylist. I have had 4 haircuts by him so far. He is very consistent and diligent and knows how to work hair. I am a guy who has short hair that likes it cleaned up every three weeks. Before I found Miguel I had a hard time finding someone in San Francisco who offered good hair cuts at a reasonable price. If you’ve lived in SF for a while you probably know what I mean. Well, I’m happy to report that Miguel gives a great cut, his prices are very reasonable, AND he’s incredibly friendly. I would strongly recommend him to anyone!

I was so happy to find Miguel! I was looking around aimlessly for a year of haircuts that were just not exactly what I wanted before I finally wandered into the salon he currently has a chair at, «It’s All About You» in the Heart of the Castro. In any event, after the first haircut I was hooked. He knew exactly what to do with my hair, and as I have 3 cowlicks and a specific type of hair it can be challenging to cut. I feel that he gives me just what I want, and then gives me the choice to add that something extra that he feels I might like. I have never been disappointed. There is not too much that can be done with short hair, I feel, but he really pushes the limits. Not to mention, he is such a personable guy, and I have become quite fond of my visits with him, and love our chats. If you are looking for a good regular stylist, I suggest you give him a try. Also, the price is just right :)

Miguel cuts mostly men’s hair. He does ok with women’s hair. I prefer not to get color done as he does not listen to my needs when it comes to new to color.

While my hair is not that difficult to cut, Miguel takes into consideration my hair type, lifestyle and personality with every cut. He is extremely thoughtful in his approach, listens to what I want and gives me excellent recommendations. He is a true professional and the results is why I keep going back to him on a regular basis. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone.

I’ve been going to Miguel since I stumbled into his chair in the Marina years ago. As most of us do, I like to consider myself fairly low maintenance in the hair department. My request is beyond simple: reasonably short length, no crazy styles (soccer mullets, faux hawks, spikes), accuracy and consistency.
My biggest challenge has always been the last concept — consistency. It is beyond annoying when the length and shape keeps changing. Especially for going into work, I do not want a ‘high and tight!” I know it will grow out, but I do not want to look like I just came back from boot camp when I go back to work. And don’t think I don’t know when you are trying to be creative with your little faux hawk by cutting a little too much off the top of each side, or getting a little too crazy with the disheveled spikes. I know it must suck with people like me making uncreative requests, but I will let you put gel in my hair for the mold of your choice as I leave — it just has to get back to normal right after.
No, Miguel performs to exact specifications each time! And, while I am sure this is boring and annoying, I respect that he keeps notes on the details so we don’t have to go through the dance each time. He uses scissors primarily so I don’t have to worry about showing too much skin. like an overdressed child with a once-​a-​summer buzz cut.
