I think I’m going to love this place and then just read that they’re closing doors on 9÷30÷15! Now where to go for a good sandwich?!

Their sandwiches are tasty and huge! The dutch crunch is awesome and they always pack on the meat and fillings. Also, someone in the back of house knows how to run a great business. I ordered a sandwich today that was missing the wet ingredients. I didn’t discover this until I was back at my office and it was too late. I left a comment on Square(I had ordered online and it gives a chance to review) and they responded within an hour with an unsolicited refund. Awesome customer service! The sad part is, they are shutting their doors for an indefinite amount of time at the end of this month.

Pretty decent food for a good price. Lines were kind of long for what you’re getting though and there wasn’t enough seating. It is convenient.

Once you tick me off that’s a bad thing. I don’t patronize rudeness, hint hint friendlessness and courteous rapport with your customers is key. I ordered oatmeal which was over the top for a little ¼ pint container for $ 4.50. For starters they provided me with the wrong one as there are two selections. I waited too long for some oatmeal and when I received it I asked if I could have some butter on it and the rude little person said something to the other person at the cashier in their language. Then she said to me, «Next time make sure you tell them you want Butter, because we charge more for Butter’. Needless to say I told her there will not be a next time. Will not be back here — exclamation period!

Special of the day was great. Chicken tomm & mozz. No restroom and the woman who took my order was somewhat short with me.

Their soylatte is always on point and I like how creative they are with their sandwiches! Today I got their daily special: the spicy tuna sandwich on dutch crunch– lets just say it was a great way to start my day :) oh and don’t forget to try their fresh almond croissants! They are delish and a treat for every sweettooth!

Man oh man I got lucky!!! Was sooooo hungry and just minutes before a gig and found this hidden gem! I’m very picky about sandwiches and all I can say is I’m coming back! I got the turkey pepperjack and it was huge savory and the right crunchy texture on this awesome bread. Fast as heck too!!! The counter gal noticed my place in line and when someone else tried to cut she said I was next! Huge props I’m tipping her!!!

Good, quality sandwiches on mid-Market. Fast service, great prices and friendly staff for a city that is becoming entirely too expensive. I love you San Francisco, but you’re becoming a diva. P. S.- Since I was a server for many years, I never go to restaurants during the main lunch rush hour.

It’s 3 pm and I’m after a late lunch. There are 2 people sitting and eating, no line to order. The dining room is kinda icky. The counter person is pretty cranky. The sandwich names are clever but unhelpful. Who puts tomato on pastrami? Is that really a rhing? Ew! Who puts tomato on pastrami after asked to omit the filthy beastly boogery little fruit? That lady at the counter, that’s who. Flipside, this pastrami is delicious.

Excellent sandwich… granted I ordered delivery, but the thing was still piping hot and good to the last bite. Believe what I had was called the«I flunked gym class» on a wheat roll.

This was my «I’m in a hurry and don’t want garbage fast-food for lunch» place when I worked in the area. It’s healthy, a little pricy for what you get, but there are plenty of options.

Another reviewer wrote this: «One thing that I like here is the back cozy corner. As a new MUNI employee — I have been taking the train or bus two stops away to eat at the lunch trucks in Civic Center and get my coffee from Magdy at the little Lunchbox in front of Lunch Geek. But my boss gave me a gift card here for Christmas — so using it and joining the crowd. Impressed by the online ordering system( ) although could not use it with a gift card. Tried the««New School» hot pastrami and enjoyed it. The chocolate chip cookie was also very good.

This place is a little diamond in the rough. Its location is in the juxtaposition of the rich and poor of Market, gleaming Twitter and Über HQ with new apartment construction, along with SROs and homeless and dog(or human) excrement lining the pavers. Get to this place like you’re playing Frogger, and a great sandwich awaits you. I’ve ordered about five or six different sandwiches here, and they’re all excellent. My fave is the sweet and geeky, a hot roast beef sw with some«geek» sauce concoction and spring mix. Be sure to always request their amazing dutch crunch bread though. Its pretty awesome. Beware of the long wait times during lunch hour when the $ 200k/year Twitter folks come down en masse to get their fix. Its either this or a gross McDonalds right next door. Take your pick.

Time: 1:33pm/73° partly sunny Purpose: After a quick brief trip into the dogpatch area returning down Bryant street. Scan email and messages nothing new kept driving. Bump into a high school friend now with the MTA. Stop and chatted then we wlk over to his favorite joint, lunch geek. Not sure why a favorite maybe the proximity of work. Ambiance: Located below a business center on market street across from the MTA building. It’s one of the last shop on the end of spectrum here. 8 – 9 tables in none outside. Massive glass windows looking out to market street and inner sidewalk. No outside seating, inside about 8 – 9 tables with chairs more or less on each setting depending on how many in your party. A flatscreen was seen but turn off. Really quiet at times at you may not want to speak louder than necessary. Take it outside were cement benches along with glass panes wrap around form, protected from weather and street nuisance. McDonald’s next door for your choice in case there’s a change of mind for here. Staff: Hispanic girl in her late 20s not too helpful or talkative. Ask her a question it takes her over 20 seconds to answer you. I’m not sure if she have to think it over or she was not understanding me. A simple in your face questions couldn’t be answer. I was skeptical about trying here but my friend said, he’ll treat. Stan what did you say? You’ll buy my meal? You’re loaded anyways! Alrighty, scoot over then hehehe! Cleanliness: Grade B-, not too clean but enough to enjoy your meal without grossing out. Tables/chairs should be introduce to Simple Green or Clorox Hard Surface cleaner. My arm felt sticky on tabletop and I’m not the type to sweat at any given time. Eats/Drinks: Bottle of Snapple and the BI-82 sandwich. The sando was okay bread was soggy even they attempts to make it a slight crunch. They ran out of chicken so improvise with turkey instead. It dose taste good and all best part is the Havarti cheese and the roasted peppers. Aioli sauce could be better no hints of garlic within. Glad I didn’t paid for this meal or else I would be more piss. Stan thanks for lunch! Products/Services: Sammies, salads, muffins, fruit & yogurt, combos, ice cream/popsicles, croissants, fresh fruits, boil eggs, energy bars, candies, chocolate bars, chips, espresso bar, torani syrup, cold juices/sodas/water, Numi Tea, beans by Dellano’s, oat bar, soup, cookies, bread loafs, baby booster seats. Breakfast & lunch only. Closed on holidays and weekends. Punch Lines: Slow service, mediocre products, coffee is kinda weak, moderately price, worker not knowledgeable, most items commercial brand, Market st/Van Ness, transportation accessible, U-rack for bikes, MTA, BofA, donut shop, salvation army, Big O Tires, Public Storage, Holiday Inn, Ubër, Twitter, cross training gym, McDonald’s, flower/gift shop, Honda, PUC. Tradeoffs: Place thrives on the MTA and nearby workers to get by. Without them pretty much non existence. After 3pm it’s dead here. Final Thoughts: There are so many places that can top this place. Thing is, how motivated are you to go out of area in search of better? It’s basically a place that provides convience over quality. Hell, the items they’ve could be had down the street at Cash & Carry. I’ll admit one thing that I like here is the back cozy corner. That table has a good view of Market street as you can see streetcar turning, drivers ignores left turn for muni only, cyclist almost get sideswipe, bums shadow boxing, homeless folks with shopping carts, people depressed after loosing hearing at the MTA as everything goes here, very comical.

Not a fan at all. I would give the sandwiches a try, but that’s just been ruined. I’ve only had the soups(I had a cold at the time) and they were all not very good. Its not far from where I work, so its extremely easy to get too. Because I was sick, I did not want to walk very far from my job to get something to eat. I’ve tried that chicken dumpling, Chicken chili, and the corn chowder. The worst one of all was certainly the corn chowder. Sweet corn pieces with cream of corn and pieces of old whatever mystery meat was horrible. Decent customer service though. As most of the review suggest, try the sandwiches and not the soups.

No surprise. First visit was chicken in the original space. Second visit was turkey in the new space. Third visit was a surprise. Vegan Surprise sandwich that is. Today was a combo of veggie bologna and turkey with vegan cheese, tomatoes and greens. House olive oil sauce and Vegenaise too. Skipped the last two and added sun-dried tomato hummus for $ 0.50. Rarely do all of these things come together on a wheat roll. They really should. It was delicious. Wanting an energy boost paired it with a smooth Americano with sugar free vanilla syrup. $ 11 for the pair left me fed and caffeinated. All courtesy of a friendly and attentive staff. No surprise everything was so good. Only surprise was why it wasn’t ordered sooner.

Friendly staff, good food and service. I came in and ordered the Ham Panini with ham, cheese, lettuce and tomato. This is one of the most delicious paninis I’ve had. I’m making my way back for lunch the next time I am in the area. I absolutely adore the way they put up the menu on a screen. There are chairs* for 14 customers but some customers order their food to go. So for this part, finding a seat should be relatively easy. *Dining establishments in units like these are suitable for about 10 – 20 customers FYI, they are now open: — Monday — Thursday 05:30 — 17:00 — Friday 05:30 — 16:00

Two words. Order online. While you’re enjoying your sandwich, people will look at you and wonder how you received your order so quickly. More people enter to join the line, and will wonder also. I ordered the Veggie 3 Cheeses sandwich. The bread was excellent, Acme-esque. The added touch of cream cheese as a spread instead of mayo and mustard transformed a regular veggie sandwich into a special one. They have a large, varied menu. They also bake muffins, which look great, and for which I’ll be back, in addition to other sandwiches. As other Unilocalers wrote, this is a great option in an area with not many good choices for lunch.

Place is aite, very formulaic. Check list to successful sandwich shop in SF: Fresh organic ingredients High quality meats, preferably sustainable & ethic Dutch Crunch bread from artisan bakery Selling 3rd wave artisan coffee Not to sound jaded since its the standard criteria now for places in city, but simply combining all of those items does not always make for a standout sandwich spot, but more like the usual average spot. Got the much talked about chicken breast sandwich«Gym Class.» While I enjoyed the jalapeño kick that came with each bite, I wasn’t quite feeling the way the sandwich tasted maybe cause I’ve had better garlic sauce complement my sandwiches. Not particularly compelled to come back for another sandwich but its fairly standard. Simple deli spot open for the lunch rush, not much to see here.
