I ordered the Buckwheat waffle with ricotta and an egg. The waffle seemed a bit undercooked and I didn’t enjoy the sour taste it had. I expected the Buckwheat waffle to have a better flavor than the plain, but I wish I got the plain. The ricotta and egg on top was great! For the price, I expected more than a tiny dollop of ricotta, though. I would try a plain waffle here another time, possibly, because it’s so close to my house. The coffee at Linnea is great though!

Updating my previous reviews under Linnea Coffee( ). Returned for lunch with a friend who wanted to try it. Had the potato pastrami waffle again($ 9.79) but was disappointed. Small waffles, a little overcooked. Tablespoon scoop of whole grain mustard, another tablespoon scoop of sauerkraut. Not as good as I remembered. Especially for $ 10 I expect to get a decent meal but even for a light eater like me it was kinda dinky. I’ve also had the churros style waffle but didn’t think it was worth it at all. Better to get a plain belgian waffle from the truck at the civic center for $ 3. Probably won’t be coming back.

4 stars for food — I agree with some of the other reviews, that you should give the savory waffles a try. I was reluctant since I usually associate butter, syrup and whipped cream with waffles. I tried the potato waffle with pastrami and sauerkraut and was not disappointed… was savory and delicious. I thought it would be pastrami and sauerkraut sandwiched by two waffles, but it was small chunks of pastrami incorporated into the fluffy batter and a small amount of sauerkraut on the side. 2 stars for service — I read about how great the buckwheat waffle with roe was and that is what compelled me to try this place. Unfortunately, they don’t serve it every day. The chef said to follow her on Twitter or Instagram to know what will be on the menu, but I could not find her pages with the updated menu on the site or on the web. And I agree with the other reviews that the barista was SLOW. He seemed to be flirting with some young cute girls in front of us. He talked to them for about 15 minutes and then he forgot to take their order. When he finished talking to them, he started walking away and the girls had to remind him to take their order. Was not fun for people waiting to order coffee or just pay for their food.

I’ll be honest… our group was supposed to meet at 7:30 am at Craftsman and Wolves last Tuesday morning, and they were closed for the day. Tartine wasn’t open yet. We needed to eat before an 8 am meeting. We found ourselves here — at Linea Caffe? — and I ordered the waffle sandwich. Don’t get me wrong… it was good. Runny yolk, delicious bacon, onion jam… but it was also nothing terribly special.(Maybe I just don’t like waffles that much?) I give 3 stars to places where the food is fine, but you’re not missing anything by not having it. That’s where this falls. In a pinch, it’s a fine breakfast. But I wouldn’t go out of my way to have it again. The people there were very nice and next time I’ll try the coffee.

Stopped by to grab 7x7s big eats item«buckwheat waffle with crème fraîche, cucumber, and salmon roe. Holy crap, this place is delicious, and so was the list item. We had three waffles between the two of us – because we don’t like to leave hungry. A waffle with chocolate sauce and coconut sauce drizzled across it – amazing. We also had the buckwheat waffle with honey and ricotta. We equally enjoyed them all– though we are HUGE fans of waffles in general, so this isn’t shocking. They were perfectly done– with a tiny bit of crisp and a whole lotta’ fluff. Check this place out– beware that the«small» coffee is the smallest small in the world – you may want to go for the large if you’re looking to stay awake through lunch.

Skip the classic waffle. Go all in for a savory special. Coffee is delicious but manned by forgetful baristas. Don’t let it ruin your waffle experience. Just remind them if it seems like they forgot your order. Pot is legal in sf.

I was suckered in by the churro waffle. I was going through Wafels & Dinges withdrawal(damn you New York) and I thought the cinnamony goodness of another waffle would fulfill it. Well, no. Lt. Waffle’s Brussels style waffles are … ok. The churro waffle didn’t do it for me. Although it sounded amazing with that coconut cream and all, it was too light for me. The entire waffle itself wasn’t filling. Thankfully, I had also gotten a potato waffle w/pastrami and sauerkraut. it needed a bit more pastrami, and I would’ve loved more sauerkraut. I’ll definitely ask for more next time. I surprisingly found myself liking the potato waffle more than the churro waffle. Still, Lt. Waffle is a neat little waffle stand inside of Linea. Check it out if you’re in the need of a quick nosh in the Mission District. They only have outdoor seating btw.

The sergeant instructed me to Lt. Waffle and I’m glad I reported for duty at 0930 hours. This place has limited seating but a cute little spot to have a quick bite. My friend and I got our orders to go but then we surrounded a table, fought hard, and we won seats as a glorious prize battle. We got a savory waffle and a churro-style waffle. Both really delicious with a pretty good price point. We got coffee from Linea Café(two mochas – which they apparently don’t use milk so they’re super chocolaty) which was ok given how expensive they were. But the waffles were amazing. So that’s all that matters.

I wish I could give this 3.5 stars. I liked it and wouldn’t complain but I didn’t love it. The options are really limited and seating(indoors) is pretty much nonexistent. FWIW, people seemed to like the savory waffles more than the sweet ones.

Five star salute. Breakfast earned them the rank of Private. Huge yeasted waffle topped with Greek yogurt, orange slices, marmalade and a hint of olive oil. $ 7. Epic and awesome. Lunch earned them the rank of Sergeant. Huge buckwheat waffle topped with sliced cucumbers, crème fraîche and salmon roe. $ 9. Innovative and incredible. Dessert earned them the rank of Lieutenant. Huge yeasted waffle mixed with chocolate. $ 7. Divine and delicious. Would follow them into culinary battle anytime.

Got a nice savory option for brunch — very Scandinavian with dill, roe, and chilled toppings: * Buckwheat waffle — 4 stars (w/crème fraîche, cucumber, and salmon roe. $ 9) pic: The roe was huge! It had a nice pop when you bit into it and an intense bit of salty flavor. The waffle had a nice crisp, yet was soft and moist on the inside. There were enough toppings piled evenly for every bite to have perfect ratio of all the ingredients. I wouldn’t usually think a savory waffle with pickled flavors would be good, but I actually really enjoyed this! Menu:
