It is pretty easy to take care of my long thick straight Asian hair, but most hairdressers seem to have a hard time with it, so I don’t get a haircut very often. I learned a long time ago that I should only trust Japanese or Korean hair salons with my hair. I’m new to the area and needed to find a new salon, and thanks to Unilocal,I found Lotte. I like the convenient Fillmore location and their neat, no-frills facility. Both Linda and Jacky have given me a great layered cut– you can tell that they’re very confident with their scissors. This is definitely my new go-to place. And the price is reasonable too.

I got a haircut and highlights for $ 90. My hair was pretty damaged from going to a terrible academy, and the ajumma knew exactly what technique to use and rightfully discouraged my suggestion of a full color change. You can tell that she puts a lot of care and is very thorough. Clean and comfortable; would def recommend for Asian hair.

Lotte gave me the nicest hair cut I’ve had in the city. I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted, except the length. She gave me a very face flattering, gently layered cut that ended at my shoulders. Her prices were very reasonable and she also gave me a sample bottle of leave in conditioner when I told her my hair was frizzy and unmanageable due to the humidity in the city. I’ve gone through some horrible and overpriced hair cuts in San Francisco. This is by far the best place I’ve been(and I am extremely picky) and I will be coming back.

It was a good place to get a simple haircut. I felt like the hair cut was rushed and they forgot my appointment but overall it was okay.

They were really kind and humble. I will go next time. $ 35 I think worth it If you want trendy K-pop hair style or asian hair style. Go and feel it.

Clean and spacious salon that makes you very comfortable just being in it. Women’s cuts start at $ 55& up(with wash). A trim of my long hair was $ 60. I had Lotte and she was very sweet and actually listened to how I wanted my hair trimmed. Most times, I have a fear of them chopping off too much when I just come in for a trim — not the case here! And she was able to fix my butchered bangs from the last cut. Three cheers for Lotte!

Had a very satisfactory haircut at Lotte. Linda is like the demon barber of fillmore street(without the murdering) and really knows what she is doing. She asked me what kinda haircut i wanted and was very competent at cutting my wavy indian hair. She also patiently explained the different kind of haircuts that would suit my face. Definitely recommend!

This was my second time back to Lotte, and she never disappoints. I have no idea what they learn in hairstyling school in Switzerland, but it’s clearly not how to cut hair the right way, because I’ve been a couple of times and it’s just awful. Lotte, however, is a godsend and always knows how to do hair perfectly in the way you want it — be it cut or color. Whenever I’m back in SF, I’ll definitely be popping by to freshen up my ‘do.

Jennifer is the best! After 30+years in long hair and one baby later, I wanted a hairstyle change. I was quite nervous about the transformation but Jennifer boosted my confidence in not only her skills but also myself in short hair. I showed her a picture of a short Bob cut and she knew exactly what I wanted. On top of that, she gave me some recommendations about some of her layering techniques. Love love love my new«mommy» haircut!

I’m really glad I found Lotte. I’ve been looking for a new and reasonably priced salon and I think I found it! I went to Linda who is a gem! She knows what she’s doing and was incredibly professional and was able to give me her sound advice on what would look good on me or not. I have medium to long hair and I wanted a change. Linda gave me subtle highlights and trimmed/added layers to my drab all one length hair. Needless to say I love it and will definitely go back. $ 145 + tip for partial highlights and an awesome cut. Not bad!

I was a 9 am walkin. Lucky me! This salon opens an hour earlier than all others. And one of the ladies had an opening. I got a cut and style that is going to make today a wonderful day no matter what.

The hairdresser named Jacky is hard to communicate with and very rude. We showed her a picture of the cut we wanted of the same person and when she couldn’t replicate the cut, she said she had another client waiting and wanted me to get off the chair so she«could attend to her other client». The owner, a fattish Korean lady, wasn’t much better, she didn’t look us in the eye when collecting payment and wasn’t friendly at all. Stay away unless you want poor service and an average haircut.

Jennifer cut my hair and gave me highlights, and I am extremely happy with both! Would definitely recommend clarifying pricing before the service **see more below. I opted to go a different route than usual with this Korean-owned salon on Fillmore; typically I end up at a Japanese hair salon with young, super hip stylists, but I’m glad I tried something new! The salon itself is clean, the stylists are friendly, and Jennifer was fantastic at doing what I wanted while also being realistic about what was best for my hair. My hair was a thin, uni-length rectangle and was in much need of a revamp. Jennifer took one look at my hair and discussed what she thought was best(rounding out the back, trimming up the sides without layering too much). I was very happy with it. I came back for highlights after discussing how to reintroduce brown to my dyed-jet black hair without bleaching and killing it all. When I consulted with Jennifer, she said it would be about 70 dollars for her recommendation of partial highlights and so I made an appointment to come back. **I took away one star because there was some confusion with the partial highlights pricing. On their service menu it says 70+, but when my hair was finished I was charged $ 100. Apparently their pricing doesn’t include toner, and even though my hair is extremely thin and not very long(barely goes past my shoulders), I was charged for«long» hair. I would just recommend clarifying the price beforehand with highlights, so that there’s no surprises. To be fair, Jennifer had also trimmed my bangs and given me a hair treatment free of charge, and when I was dismayed over the my misinterpretation of the price they brought the total down to $ 90. Very fair and good service.

Lotte is like the hair whisperer! I’ve gone through my fair share of hair stylists throughout the Bay Area and none of them seem to stick… until Lotte. IMO most stylists can only master one aspect of hair styling, be it: cut, color, highlights, balayage or blowout. For example, I found a stylist who gives the most amazing haircut, but sadly his coloring was very mediocre so I had to find another stylist. It was extremely hard for me to find someone who can wow me with everything to make me want to be a loyal client. Until Lotte. She gives the most amazing hair cut, color and blowouts! I can’t recommend her enough!

I love Linda. What I really like in a stylist/hairdresser is when I’m able to communicate what I want with her and she tells me her process, what her recommendations are and then we reach a decision and the end result is something magnificent. That is exactly what it’s like going to Linda. For all the big changes in my hairstyles, I always trust Linda. The first time I highlighted/dyed my hair, I went to Linda. And just recently when I decided I want to chop off all my hair and go for a bob, I knew I could trust Linda to give me a great haircut. I just love being able to communicate with my hairstylist with what I really want and have her understand or if she doesn’t, she has her own recommendation which she floats by you so that you don’t leave with a hairstyle that is totally different than what you wanted in the first place. It should always be like that with your hairdresser.

Linda! Linda is the best. I’ve been coming to her for my hair cut and color for over 5 years. I had the worst luck with hairdressers before finding Linda — I had cried after awful haircuts more than once. Linda has taken me through many hairstyles and haircolors, including some crazy things I’ve wanted to try for fun. She listens really well to what you want, and then will guide you through to what is actually possible and what will likely happen based on what you are requesting and your hair type /current cut /etc. She’s very straightforward, which means that she’s tell you when something is a bad idea. I can’t recommend her enough!

Who knew a little Korean lady named Lotte could do a badass sexy blowout for $ 35?! I’m a converted believer. Lotte was precise, meticulous, efficient, and friendly. «Your hair is very flat, huh? We fix that.» Sold.
