Worried at first because of the ratings but decided to try it anyway. We are so glad we did! We wanted breakfast at dinner time and the omelettes were great. We flew into San Francisco and had lunch early then wanted dinner around 7:30. The diner was busy, but not fully packed. We got a table and had prompt service from the beginning. Our food was delivered in less than 10 minutes and it was fantastic. All the servers were nice and attentive and even if they weren’t ours, they still checked on us. This is our first night here in SF, so this probably won’t be our only visit to Lori’s Diner! BTW, the décor is great too!

Ordered a BLT sandwich. The food was good but lacked flavor. The bacon portions were generous. The place did have the old diner feel. Very convenient since it was about a block from the hotel.

It’s a greasy spoon. If you need breakfast at 2am this is a good place. Friendly staff and well lit, clean atmosphere. Pancakes were good.

Do NOT waste your money here. Our food was decent and our waiter was fantastic.(Pretty sure his name was Henry) When we went to pay we needed 3 checks and they were completely rude. They insisted that even though they were able to split checks the owner did not want them to do anything but split it evenly into 2 checks. Our water finally came up and fixed it but the cashier made a point of announcing to the restaurant that he was going to be written up for it. Seriously! The manager came by and was just as bad. What kind of place writes up a great waiter for helping custom be able to pay for their food? If that was their policy it should have been written and available beforehand. I even told her that I was going to write a bad review and she sarcastically encouraged me to do so. So here it is: stay away, they don’t want your business anyway.

I had some people recommend this place. I stopped by for breakfast. My friend and I were warmly welcomed and seated. Our drink order was quickly taken and our waitress was friendly. The décor is fun and I love the diner counter! You really feel like you’re back in the 50s. I ordered the Country Breakfast, a sample of pancakes, eggs, hashbrowns, bacon and sausage. It didn’t take long to get our breakfast; but it also was early enough that it wasn’t busy yet. Overall, the breakfast plate was good, and contained large portions. For me, the star of the plate was the hashbrowns. I’ll be back since this place is close to the hotel I’m at in Union Square. Breakfast dishes range from $ 11-$ 16, so stop by here if you’re hungry and need to stop by somewhere convenient.

Solid diner located right in union square, it’s a bit more expensive than most diners, but you definitely get your money’s worth, I got the shrimp omelette which was very big and came with hash browns and toast, coffee was standard, service was pretty fast, and we were seated right away, i tried my sisters pancakes and they were solid as well

After already waiting for a server to come to the table for an initial drink order/greeting we then had to wait for the table who was sat after us to order before we could get our turn. Ordered chili cheese fries and they microwaved the plate to melt the cheese. It was a soggy nightmare. Also there were carrots in the chili? Watched another patron get so impatient after seeing his order, ready to be served, getting completely ignored and went to get his order himself. Get it together people.

The location on Sutter is not showing up, but I will post the review at this location. I was so happy to see this place across the street form our hotel. I only wish I would have noticed it the night before. The breakfast was amazing. The biscuits were homemade and the pancakes were delightful. Our serve was a very nice attentive young man. The cherry coke tasted authentic. I love the theme and the décor. I didn’t find it any more pricy than other places in San Francisco.

If I only had to rate the interior of the place, it’d be a 5. Unfortunately, the food doesn’t quite live up to the looks of the place. Setting: Looks like a small place from the outside, but the diner is actually pretty long. I love the oldies theme — super cute for Instagram. Service: Kind of an odd set up; we had 3 different people take our drinks/orders. They were very fast, which I do appreciate. Food: Pretty pricey. The«late night combo» costs $ 10 for two small items. But I guess that kind of food tastes good at 1 in the morning. I had the mozzarella sticks and fries, which were mediocre. I also had an Oreo milkshake, which was kind of watery? Disappointing for being $ 6. I love that there’s such different people here at night, and I’d probably come again if I’m craving a late night snack. It’s convenient that this place is 24⁄7!

I do not like this place. It’s not very clean, but the set up is cute! I got the heartbreaker sandwich and the chicken was gummy??? And it’s a mess to eat. My friend got the chili and was not impressed either. The view was nice, but maybe it’s a distraction from the not so amazing food. Oh this is also referring to the union square one!!! But it’s not popping up.

We wanted to find a restaurant close by to the theatre we were seeing a show and wanted something quick and comforting. It’s a diner with a 50’s theme. Dude really enjoyed the old time music as he is a 50’s 60’s 70’s music fan and knew all the obscure songs from those times! We ordered the chicken apple sausage omelette and the corned beef hash with eggs and toast. The food was comforting, and they really use corned beef in their hash and give you lots of it. However, after having fried it with the country potatoes, the meat is a little on the dry side.

Generally this is a good place for breakfast, and a cool little diner. It’s got all the décor and everything else you’d want. It’s got the stock standard diner menu, with a San Francisco spin on it. The service is generally good, but I have to say it can be a little spotty and unfriendly at times. On the whole, though, a good way to start your day.

50’s theme diner located right next to the hotel where we stayed.(King George Hotel) Came here for breakfast. Food was filling Had the baby bay shrimp omelette. Came with hash browns and choice of toast and a sliced orange. I also ordered a cup of chile con carne. Wish food would have had more flavor. My son had French toast. Super filling. Giving this place 4 stars for quick service. Got seated quickly and waitress was efficient and friendly.

Was looking for a place to eat and the 50’s theme sounded fun. I ordered the Rebel Rouser with garlic fries. The green onions were excessive, but to be fair the menu did say they were«piled on» and I like onions very little. Overall a neat little stop on my first night in San Francisco.

This place was recommended by the nice man at the ACT box office and we are happy to have tried it. As you know it is a fifties-style diner. My wife and I split a Caesar salad and a Ruben sandwich. Both very very good. I love a good Ruben and this nailed the classic flavor. And it was not too big, which is a plus for me. I would come here again

My coworker and I were looking for a breakfast spot near our hotel and I recalled seeing the 50’s diner-style sign of Lori’s on the previous night’s stroll. Walking through the door is a step back in time to a simpler era. The hostess quickly seated us and fresh, hot coffee was soon to follow. The menu offerings are what I’d expect from a diner, however, there’s even more variety. I settled on a Belgium waffle. It was slightly crisp and very light. Sprinkled with powdered sugar, it also had warm syrup and soft butter on the side. Perfect. The staff were responsive and friendly. Definitely worth a stop!

Great service with a fun 50’s retro diner theme but only okay food. I would return but I’m not rushing back there. I met a friend at Lori’s for breakfast after we found out 398 Brasserie was closed. I ordered two poached eggs and some corned beef hash. Eggs were perfect but the corned beef hash was pretty bland. The service was noticeably very good. Our coffee cups were full and we didn’t have to wait very long for the food.

I should never write reviews about places I visit after a night of entertaining. My judgement may be clouded by the events of the evening ;-)) One of my favourite things about the USA is the existence of these 24 hour eating places :-)) This is a nice old style looking diner and I loved the ambience here. The seats are comfortable and the staff are very friendly. It was fairly empty when I arrived. The menu is quite extensive and has all days breakfasts, burgers and loads of other diner standard fare. I ordered a burger with garlic fries and it arrived quickly. It looked quite ok and the garlic fries were quite tasty. The burger itself was also quite tasty. The bun was horrible and soggy which made for a less pleasant burger over all. Once again the bread let me down ;-)) I would happily come here again. It’s quite ok and the staff are friendly.

This place is actually pretty good! We had a very funny waitress and the service was fast. The coffee was strong, and my order was sizable. I got the Lori burger, which had bacon, cheese, lots of onion, and also side of sweet potato fries. The pickle was surprisingly crunchy and good. The patty was done medium, and it actually was! Did not expect that from a diner. My friend got a club sandwich, which she said was pretty good too. Prices were very reasonable. If you’re in the area, worth a quick lunch if you’re not looking for something fancy.
