Great tasting Alfredo, giant portion, what more can I ask for? I haven’t tried anything else on the menu though.

I’ve been going to Little Henry for many years and they’re definitely a family favorite. Standard delicious meals, huge portions, friendly service. Mind the English barrier with some of the waiters, but they are all smiles and super helpful and friendly.

So its an Italian restaurant run by Chinese people meaning: Large portions. Hot food. But again it is an Italian restaurant run by Chinese. I had the typical Chinese parents that basically only cooked Chinese food(so dinner would be rice, a fish/meat dish, a veggie dish, etc). One time I convinced my parents to make spaghetti instead and my parent’s cooking was basically the same as this restaurant’s. The spaghetti sauce was bland, the spaghetti noodles were over cooked, and the clams came from a can. The salad that came with it was a few pieces of ice berg lettuce doused in dressing with a slice of tomato. The garlic bread that came with the dish was absolutely delicious though! the bread was so soft yet great crunch on the outside. Service was really friendly!

This place is very interesting. It serves Italian & other food, is run by a number of nice Chinese folks, and has the feel of a small American diner. So I live nearby and go here quite often. As such, I’ve tried a lot of things on the menu, but 4 of my stars go directly to their Mushroom Philly Cheesesteak. It could be the best in San Francisco, packed with tons of steak and served up with fries & all the sides you’ll never be able to get to. Like everything else on the menu, it’s priced well. The staff is pretty friendly. I’ve gotten away with mixing up similar priced items on the menu. My only caveat is they can really pile on the sauce for some dinner or pasta dishes. Otherwise it’s a definitely a good pit stop after visiting Ocean Beach.

This place is over priced and really nasty food. I actually vomited a few hours after eating here. Very bland and seems like everything comes from a can. They have the cheapest most unhealthy pasta you can buy. They charge $ 19 for a piece of farmed salmon with pcbs, hormones, antibiotics. The salad is iceberg lettuce, which everyone knows is pretty much useless when it comes to nutrition. Switch to romaine if you have any respect for yourself. Kids liked the garlic bread but the meal had absolutely zero nutrition in it, in fact, I think it made my entire family sick. We only came here because we needed dinner fast and the food was served very quickly, like in 5 minutes! Other than super fast service, this place is terrible. Overpriced for what you get. Then again, I wouldn’t eat here if someone paid me good $$$ to. I have no idea how this place has demand, I can make the same food a million times better and more nutritionally dense at home. It’s very frustrating that when you’re pressed for time and need to feed your family STAT outside of the home, you basically cannot find a decent restaurant in the Balboa that serves up fresh, organic, nutritionally dense good food like the kind you’ll find in my fridge. Never again.

We went here for a quick dinner for our movie at Balboa Theatre. It was the most underwhelming, bland dinner I’ve ever had — let alone for Italian food. The clam chowder was watery, lacked flavor — no seasoning. The eggplant parmigiana was lame. it was basically thick slices of eggplant, quickly pan-fried, topped with mozzarella. Lacked flavor. Not breaded well. No crisp. And served with the pasta that had bland tomato sauce thrown on top. For ~$ 12 — Lame. Pesto linguine was mediocre — again, lacking flavor. Big portion but needs seasoning. The cook needs to add more seasoning and flavor to these dishes! I boxed 90% of my pasta so that I can re-do it with spices as home for lunch the next day. Only gave stars because the service was friendly.

I read the reviews before heading to Little Henry’s and I was expecting the worse. Truth is, it toped all my expectations! the service was sooo nice! everyone has a huge smile, and they are super fast and efficient, our drinks never emptied! The food is good! We had two pastas, the Pasta della casa and the Italian Sausage with spaghetti and they were up to «olive Garden» or any other chain food pasta, they are not super foodie michelin star place but it was good home-made style pasta. Also they servings are HUGE!

5 stars for the service 4 stars for the foods we ordered. We are not Italian but somehow we enjoyed the foods just for the taste of it!

Over cooked, no flavor, but the bright side is… The filthy lipstick on my wine glass was No Extra Charge !!! When I told the waitress I’d like a wine glass that wasn’t dirty– she didn’t even flinch. She got me a new, clean wine glass and just walked away with no apology — as if I’d just asked for another napkin or more bread!!! Lmao!!! Worst. Place. Ever. - Location.Location.Location!!! Being in the middle of the Richmond, with no other Italian restaurants in sight– they were slammed. This makes me sad. If you are reading this, please open an Italian restaurant next door to this sh*t h*le, thank you :)

I didn’t check Unilocal before eating here. We were hungry and they were open. The Ravioli with Meat sauce was horrible. The pasta was gummy and sauce flavorless. I don’t know why places like this think they need to remake the burger. Keep it classic and odds are you won’t ruin it. Little Henry’s ruined it. This place has two things going for it. Friendly service and good french fries.

Very Disappointed. I do not recommended if you are seeking for an authentic Italian Cuisine. I ordered the Veal Parmigiana Dish, accompanied by a house salad and 2 garlic break sticks. Side salad — Iceberg lettuce soak on Italian dressing and a quarter edge tomato. It was the worst side salad i even seen some one serve at a restaurant. Main dish — Veal Parmigiana served with Penne Pasta with tomato sauce and mix vegetables. Very big portion, thats i can give Pros but It was served in 7 minutes after I mad the order. That makes me think of the freshness of the meal. Price is ok. Not really satisfied for what you get as far as food quality. Pasta dishes ranges between 10 – 15 dollars per place with side salad or soup. Highlight of the Dinner was the friendly server. Checking previous review, I can see that this restaurant is established in the area for years. I would extremely suggest that the ownership really revise their concept of Italian Cuisine and make the appropriate changes on the menu to improve the quality and authenticity of the food. I will not return to this establishment with the same menu in place.

If you like Chinese food dumped on limp, uninspired pasta dishes, this is the place for you. Not sure if I am more offended by the $ 12 flavorless pasta or the pursuing stomach ache. If I could go back in time, I’d undo eating at Little Henry’s. Don’t be fooled by the 4 – 5 star reviews, this place is utterly terrible

I’ve been coming to little henry’s ever since i was a little kid. Thats about 15+ years now and the food has stayed the same. Its still delicious! The staff is really friendly and hasnt aged a bit. I usually order the ox tail stew and its a huge portion. I usually save half of it for my lunch the following day. I’ve also ordered the chicken parmesan which is pretty good too. I would say you get what you pay for, but they raised the price! I came in a couple of days ago to order an ox tail stew and it was 18 bucks! But i did get soup and garlic bread on the side, and their portions are huge. lol so it was worth it to me. I love this place and will always come back for the ox tail stew! you must try it!

Their fries are soooo good! I remember coming here for lunch during my high school days and ordering only their fries because they are just THAT good. During my most recent visit, my boyfriend and I shared a philly cheesesteak that came with fries. The fries were just as good as I remembered them to be. However, the phill cheesesteak was no bueno. Lacking in cheese and the meat was not good in both texture and taste. I’m used to bigger piece of meat in my philly cheesesteak but the meat here is kind of crumbly. And did they forget the seasoning?

Had the opportunity to have dinner last night. The fact that the Clam Chowder was watered down, the pasta sauce had no seasonings or taste. They must open a can of something and pour it on the pasta and call it sauce. The salmon I ordered was breaded and fried instead of grilled liked described and served with hollandaise sauce, requested tartar sauce got mayo with some lemon squeezed into it. Yeah the portions were ok but I think the next time I’m looking for somewhere to eat while on Balboa I’ll look for Subway or something! I wouldn’t recommend this place to a stranger!

I don’t know why Little Henry’s has so many bad reviews but I had a pretty good experience at this place. The food gets ready super fast and it’s delicious, the staff are super friendly and the portions are big, like really huge. I highly recommend this place to college students or the ppl living close by.

Mediocre«Italian» restaurant run by non Italians. The prices are mehhhhh, ranging from 10 – 15 each pasta plate!!! Does not taste authentic but the reason why it deserves even a 3 star is the customer service is decent. Dishes usually come with garlic bread and soup/salad complimentary. overall a below average Italian restaurant

I’ve eaten here a few times before. While I think their main dishes aren’t that great, I do love their sides. Sometimes I’d just order fries to go. Today, my cousin and I ordered fries and mozzarella sticks. So my review is only for the fries and mozzarella sticks. Our order was made very quickly. The fries were very crispy and the to go box was completely filled. Even after 20 minutes in the box, the fries were still crispy. The mozzarella sticks were covered with a crispy batter but I was disappointed that the cheese on the inside was not very melted. It appeared to be a solid stick. Maybe it’s because I didn’t eat the mozzarella sticks right away so they got cold and turned solid. However, they were still very good and even better with the marinara sauce that was included. I would recommend going here for sides but maybe not for their main dishes.
