If you are looking for cabinets, or design input, I would highly recommend a visit to Scott at Blue Plum Design. He has an outstanding showroom with many cabinets and finishes on display. He reps many different cabinet suppliers that range from super deluxe/​top of the line to more budget friendly options. I was redoing a rental unit and was in the medium budget category.
My contractor recommended a visit to Scott’s show room but since I already had architectural drawings that I liked, I arrived thinking all I needed was to make some color/​finish choices. Scott jumped right in, was super friendly, and after some discussion and a review of my drawings, made a number of excellent design suggestions that I choose to incorporate into my project. It was very clear from the discussion, that Scott is a real pro at ‘all things cabinet’.
I do not give the five star rating lightly. Here is one example of why the experience of using Scott and Blue Plum Design was so favorable. As part of the discussion, Scott recommended under cabinet lighting, and even pointed out to me to some web sites where the parts could be ordered. After looking at the online catalogue, which was a bewildering bunch or part numbers that only an lighting geek could decipher, Scott took the time to print out the relevant pages and highlighted the part numbers that would be needed for my job. It was very clearly a customer service that went well beyond my cabinet purchase.
Oh, and by the way, the cabinets shipped on time, on budget, and where beautiful.

We found Blue Plum from our interior designer as we planed to completely rebuild our kitchen earlier this year.
After our interior designer made an initial design, they came to our house to do measurement and drawed it up in different views. After a few iterations, Scott and his associate greatly improved the detailed design to our satisfaction, with an island and wall cabinets. They also worked patiently with us to select the right material and maker (Leicht). After we placed the order, we were informed the progress on every step till it was installed. The initially shipment missed a few drawer dividers. Scott quickly re-​ordered them, and hand delivered and installed them himself.
We have enjoyed using the cabinet for the past 4 months, and really appreciate the design and high quality daily. It is really well worth the reasonable price we paid.
So I would highly recommend this shop.

I ordered a single cabinet from Scott at Blue Plum to match some existing ones, taking a door with me to get the color right. His suggestion even though I had the color name just so he could be sure.
It came and he delivered it at my convenience.
He does more than cabinets, other custom work, and had some great suggestions of inexpensive ways to deal with the annoying space on top of some cabinets.
On top of that I had a bit of glitch with finding matching cabinet hardware, and he was very supportive in that process which helped.
He is indeed patient, interested, and full of helpful ideas.

So far, the whole process with Blue Plum has been fantastic.
This place is a hidden gem!
Scott was so helpful with the design choices for my bathroom vanity, countertop options, and materials. He has also been very patient and responsive to my questions via email– novice questions about measurements, proper fit for the sink in the countertop, etc.
I wanted bamboo cabinets, and they’ve got them.

I have had the cabinets for a few weeks now– and they are BEAUTIFUL! There was a glitch with getting the installation just right (size of one of the components needed to be adjusted but this was done intentionally to give me more flexibility with the depth of the cabinets) and Scott again was responsive and hands on in getting everything perfect. Not the most inexpensive option, but high quality and great customer service.

Blue Plum did a GREAT job with the cabinets (design, materials and installation) in our remodel.
We replaced our cabinets in the utility room, powder room and upstairs bathroom. Scott, the owner, came out and measured, and made *very* useful design suggestions — for example, he suggested going to a shallower depth cabinet in the powder room because the room is so small (and it made a big difference in the room feeling more spacious). He also made suggestions about what kind of drawers and pull-​outs would be most useful, etc.
Scott also helped us work within our budget constraints, suggesting alternatives and where we could make financial tradeoffs.
Blue Plum’s cabinet installer Juan Ek did a great job — he removed and trucked away the old countertops and cabinets, installed the new cabinets, and came back later at no additional charge, to install the cabinet handles (which we had failed to have on hand, on installation day).
The cabinets and the installation look and feel very high quality. We are really happy with the result. I will definitely be using them when we redo our master bath in a year or two.
Also note that these bid was the cheapest out of the 3 – 4 cabinet vendors I spoke with (from Home Depot to several cabinet businesses). I would have been worried actually that they were the cheapest (that can be a bad sign), but Blue Plum was highly recommended to me by a friend, and they were absolutely great !!
Note that Blue Plum carries a wide range of cabinets and styles, from pretty traditional to more modern/​European looking design. They also carry eco /​green products. They also carry some countertop materials (although in my case, I got my countertops elsewhere).
I strongly recommend Blue Plum.
