Jaxson is definitely a certain kind of crowd, with its country music and Marina clientele. The drinks are a little pricey but the vibe is very festive and social. The bartenders are incredibly efficient and security is friendly. The occasionally non-country songs keep it from feeling too niche. When we stopped by on Saturday, the place was packed and I accidentally left my wallet on the bar counter. The bartender was kind enough to save it for me and gave me a call the very next day! He kept it for me intact, with all my cards and cash still inside. Thanks, Jeff! You’re my hero :)

Occurred few months ago: I have no issues with any of the bartenders except this big bearded guy. He asks me what I want and I ordered a round of drinks for me and my friends. He looked at me, waved his hand in the air like he didn’t want to deal with it(easy well drinks, btw). He walks over to other end of the bar and he’s just kicking it with his friends chatting it up. Completely disrepectful. I’m an Indian guy seeing this punk take orders from all the white folks. How can I think he doesn’t have any prejudice against me? I’m a simple guy from a small town in Texas and this is a horrible representation of a country bar. Y’all could learn a few things by checking out a southern bar in Austin or Houston where everybody is cool with everybody and bartenders don’t deny service based on any prejudice they have. If «country redneck racist» is the feel y’all are going for then y’all get 5 stars. Just let me know before I walk into a damn bar like that.

This place is ok. The guy bartender needs to take a stick out of his ass because he makes minimum wage and charged us drinks when we never got them. Have a good life you 40yr old waste of space

This review is for the bottle service /back room event space. I have been to this bar several times and liked the look of the back room for a party. I contacted management who told me that booking the back room is based on bottle service — you have to buy one bottle(~$ 250-$ 300 per bottle, which includes an automatic 20% gratuity) per 6 guests. They told me the room fits 25 – 30 people. I asked them to reserve the whole space for me and that I would shoot for 25 – 30 guests. The bottle service doesn’t start ’til 10:00pm so you can’t have the room until that time. The day of the party I checked in with management and they said I was all set for the night. When we arrived the woman I had been coordinating with, Katie, told me that we were going to have to share the back room space with another party because«it was the owner’s friends and she couldn’t say no.» No mention of this earlier in the day when I had checked in. The other party ended up being about 20 guys, so our group of 20 had to share with their group of 20… for a room that fits 30 people max?! It didn’t work. No one in my group wanted to hang out in there, it was crowded and we felt pushed out, and we didn’t finish our bottles because everyone left the back room. I ended up paying $ 1000 for event space that they weren’t even decent enough to actually reserve for me. Contacted management to request that they make it right, but received no response to my inquiry. Definitely don’t go here for a private party.

Horrible horrible experience at this bar. The bartenders are extremely rude to customers, $ 10 cover charge, and overcrowded. The bartender accidentally poured me two drinks, instead of one, and then charged me for both and told me it’s my fault. He then proceeded to dump the second drink out after I asked for a refund; he told me he was originally going to let me keep it, but not anymore because I asked him what I should do with the additional beer since I’ve only paid for one. Really poor customer service. Will not return.

This might be one of the worst bars in the Bay Area. I was there a few nights ago with my friends when the most traumatizing event I’ve ever seen happened right before my uninitiated eyes. I saw each bartender take turns railing lines of cocaine in the back corner of the bar, by the DJ booth. I honestly wouldn’t mind the drug use if the bartenders were friendly to the customers, but the cocaine was making them really aggressive. Anytime I would buy a drink, they would make it known they wanted a tip of at least 3 $. They would gaze into your eyes, with a vein popping out of their forehead, and would not hand you your drink until you put down some cash. It was kind of frightening. The climax of my experience at this bar was when a slightly drunk, blonde sorority girl didn’t have any small bills to tip with. One of the bartenders, I think he had brown hair, cocked back his fist and punched her square in the face. He actually had the nerve to demand that the entire sorority and their male counterparts be kicked out because they were«guilty by association.» The bouncer that was kicking everybody out was a tall, bald black man. Apparently he was also selling little bags of cocaine and Xanax to people who were passing by, while also pocketing money from the cover charge. I was quite shocked, and left immediately. I will never come to Jaxson again.

Look, I get it. Country is cool. I’m a fan of country music, line dancing and all that other western stuff, but Jaxson makes me feel like I’m not«cool enough». Unfriendly bartenders, a short/weak list of whiskeys, and what seems to be a Budweiser monopoly over the beer list are supremely disappointing. If they really wanted to pull of a Texas country bar might I suggest going to one in Austin, Dallas or Ft. Worth and doing a bit of homework. Texans are welcoming and love to show you why things are bigger in their state. Love them. The only reason this place gets three stars is because they have a gigantic American flag on display. Please bring back KT’s.

This is a great place, albeit the crowd is mostly young-(mostly in their 20’s-30’s.) However, as a 65 year ‘young at heart gay gentleman,’ I stumbled upon this wonderful establishment for the 1st time a few weeks ago, and regardless the age difference, I felt welcomed & comfortable being there. The bartenders are all great, especially Otto & Danny. Drinks are fab, the music rocks, lots of open space for dancing, & several TVs showing sports. The place makes me nostalgic for Middlebury, Vermont, where I attended graduate school at Middlebury College. The place has great vibes. I recommend it hands down for a fun night out on the town! P. S. The Punk-Rock photo of me with shades & vinyl black overcoat is of me taken in 1980 in NYC when I was 30, ~ the average age of the crowd at this place: 35 years later I don’t look like this anymore. Oh well, with age we change & learn to accept it. Cheers!

This place is SOOOOO fun! Lots of hot guys and cool vibe. I don’t usually listen to country, but when I’m here I like what they play. My friends and I go here a lot. There are also some ledges we can dance on which is fun.

Home away from home. Country bar with ok drink prices and a pretty wild night life. There is no cover charge, and everyone is dancing when you walk in. At least that is what its like at 10 or 11pm.

Sexist bar that only allows women to dance on the stage. Bouncer was super rude to me and my sister when we asked him why this was the case. I will not be going back to this place and I hope you won’t either.

Cool place. Bartender is chill, drinks are standard, open windows to Fillmore. Went here on a weekday for drinks after food and it was pretty quiet. Okay well it was a Tuesday, so maybe not everyone is out getting sloshed, not sure why they wouldn’t. But it was still chill/fun.

Honestly worst bar in SF! Not only were the bartenders rude, they tried to convince us our drinks had alcohol in them but they didn’t. The bartender and manager were extremely condescending, and had bordering racist comments. He actually said«honey next time you order you should be more prepared». I will never come back, really awful :(

Racist bouncers. I thought San Francisco was better than this. Long story short, I used to like this bar when it was under old management. But the current management seems to not like non-white people who dare to be around their precious bar. I’m insulted, because I’m a native born San Franciscan who is being treated as an outsider in his own city.

Oh jeez, if you are into country, jocks and sorority girls you have found heaven. I’ve never thought I would find a country bar in the Marina but apparently Jaxson is a point. Ok is not 100% country, and I did not see anyone with cowboy hats, or line dancing but it was way too country for California, no doubt! We came in with a few friends ready to have a night out and dance. I did end up doing some moves on the dance floor, once one of the Gamma Gammas spilled my drink all over the floor and I was just really over it. It might be a cool place to come with a few friends to people watch and get drunk(cheap/strong drinks) but it was not my crowd.

Look we all know what to expect here. Lousy service, starting with the terrible door man. «You only have one girl with you? You can’t come in» is what you will here if the line is more than 5 people. You do realize GUYS are who pay your bartenders right? Dick. Regardless, get in early and reap the benefits of the shitty attitude door man– lots and lots of girl. Good looking ones too. Bartenders… Well they are terrible too. And the owner is drunk trying to find the first drunk 22 year old in sight to take upstairs. But I like him for that… Hell I’d do the same thing if I had a marina bar. Hot chicks, lousy service. 4 stars in my book. I don’t go to Marina bars for 5 star service anyway

Finally a country bar in SF! I was so excited to try out this place as I had heard great reviews on the new atmosphere and music. The music and customer service didn’t disappoint. The bouncer was nice and we were able to get in swiftly given the number of people waiting to get in. The bartenders also did a great job at working the bar quickly and serving as many eager 20-something’s as possible. It’s one of the only bars I’ve been to recently where the bartenders were not on their phones. All of that said, I likely won’t return simply because of the location and crowd… at least on the weekend. It’s in the marina, which I difficult anyway. But the plethora of drunk college kids who could barely stand on the dance floor was enough to make me not want to return.

We all paid earlier in the night. Danced and spent a ton of money on drinks. Left and asked for stamps. Bouncer said they don’t give out stamps and that we could stand in line later and he would remember us. Not even an hour later we walk back and the bouncer is asking for stamps or asking us to pay cover again. AND this is after the group in front of us graciously paid for some of the ppl in our group. Bouncer pocketed the money. Owners should hire legit ppl. Our large group is always good for business!

Low star review for miserable guest services. I was there half way through Jan with some co workers and friends, we had a good time. We were pretty drunk and going to have a good time anyway so I can’t comment on the bar itself. We left the bar and the next day I realized I had left my sweater near where the DJ was playing. I am from out of the area but wanted my sweater back so I tried contacting Jaxson’s through 1) email 2) facebook 3) and calling numerous times. The phone seems to ring with no end, I was never able to contact anyone that way. You can probably still see one of my attempts to contact them through Facebook on their wall with no response(Jan 26). unless they have deleted it. I sent another email reply today after trying to call them all month(this is now over 1 month after I lost my sweater and tried initially contact them) and finally got a response, «Hi Byron, sorry for the delay. I wasn’t able to locate your sweater. If anything comes up, I will make sure to contact you.» I realize they are a bar and can be busy, but I work at a tech startup and in the same week I lost my sweater, I responded to a handful of emails asking me to find bugs in client’s PHP and Javascript code(not really my responsibility). If I can find the time to do that, I imagine Jaxson’s could take the time to find a sweater in their lost and found tub and get back to me.

I’m not sure how my Bf and I ended up at this country bar in the Marina… of all places. I have to admit, I was a bit uncomfortable because the bar was packed with mainly Caucasian decent. We are both from the South, so we are use to unintentionally segregated bars. We sat at the end of the bar and ordered our drinks. The female bartenders have heavy hands. They put enough alcohol in our drinks, just like they make it down south. As the night went on, we started mingling with fellow drunk patrons. When we first got there, Country Hits were playing, then when we left, Hip Hop was playing… Funny, kind of. Some people had rhythm and some were hearing something completely different in their head. Overall, if we are around, we might stop in for a drink… Might. LOL It was a fun night!

Well, the boys of Otto and Brickyard have done it again. Country style… ready for marina douche central, and I fuckin love it Dj booth redone. Right on the dance floor aka perfect for requesting our favorite songs! Like OMG! Bartenders are awesome. Whiskey sour? Whiskey rocks? Whiskey anything? They deliver. Big things to come. Can’t effing wait. Thank god someone finally decided to OWN this space.
