Most days I’d give Jasmine’s two stars — other Unilocalers aren’t kidding, this place is way, way overpriced. I mean, if the going rate for parfaits was $ 13, I’d either be 1) broke or 2) in the parfait business. But today, when the first place I went to was closed, and the second place I went to was out of granola(?), I was desperate for some breakfast eats. I apparently wondered into Jasmine’s after they closed, but the lady helping me out was kind enough to have a takeout one made, and she even charged me less the portion size was smaller. A nice gesture when I needed it most, so on this day only, Jasmine’s is getting that third star.

I can echo what Rob put, because we were there at the same time. I’ve been to this place once before, and I have to say — the buffet is Really Good. That’s kind of what I was looking forward to this time around. But. No Buffet Today. Low Occupancy(or so was the rumor) was the reason for the shutdown. So ordering off of the a la carte menu became the primary issue, which(a) it wasn’t a bad menu but(b) was overpriced for what you got. Granted, it’s hotel food so I don’t expect Cheap Prices. I ordered the Chicken Hash, which was really good. However, my poached eggs weren’t runny at all, which was mildly annoying. I didn’t even think to ask for runny eggs since I kind of take that for granted with hash. The coffee wasn’t bad, and there was free juice, though I have a feeling that was comped since the menu listed them at $ 5 a piece. All in all, not bad for a hotel restaurant, but if you’re not a guest, it’s worth checking to make sure that the buffet is going before hand. Hopefully that hasn’t been screwed up too.

All in all, fairly disappointing. Turns out they only open the breakfast buffet if the hotel is at a certain level of occupancy, which(apparently) it wasn’t. The a la carte menu is fairly overpriced(think $ 17-$ 19 per entrée), but you do get free juice. That aside, the food took forever to arrive, they weren’t that on the ball with refilling drinks and the like, and it’s pretty expensive, even for hotel fare. Given the choice, I’d say go to the adjacent Starbucks and get something there instead.

I used to be a hostess here a long, long time ago. It’s located on the lobby level of theCourtyard by Marriott hotel. I’ve never stayed here before but the breakfast is delicioso! There is always a chef on duty to prepare made-to-order omeletes, a full buffet with potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, also unlimited fresh squeezed orange juice and tomato juice and all sortsa juices!(I love juice). There’s also a cereal and fruit bar so come hungry and stuff your face for about $ 15 I believe, per person. The waiters are also very friendly. Try a belgian waffle, my fave! If you come early enough, you can find street parking on Folsom. If not, there’s a public parking lot on 2nd, actually there are a few, unless you don’t mind paying for valet cuz you got it like that! Jasmine’s is a great place to have breakfast. I’d make the drive out on a day off just to eat here, but don’t just take my word for it!
