Its solid. Good salads and sandwiches. A touch overpriced for what it is, but then again its soma and everything is overpriced.

This place was great! We stopped in here for lunch and I was very pleasantly surprised. I went with the walnut cranberry salad and highly recommend it. All the ingredients were fresh. The goat cheese was also very fresh and mild — the way I like it. Some of my friends had the sandwiches which also looked very good. The workers were very helpful, pleasant, and took the time to help us understand all the selections on the menu. I will definitely be coming back to this place when I am in the area in the future.

Looking for a go to salad place? This is definitely the place to go. I always get the salmon salad here and it is delicious. I heard somewhere that they cook with extra virgin oil but I don’t know how much of that is true. The greens are always french and the cherry tomatoes always juicy and the salmon is cooked just right. Over all I’m a regular here since its right across the street from my building. You can also order ahead online which is much faster than ordering inside and waiting. Its hectic here during lunch hours.

Cute coffee shop but can use to improve their breakfast! Décor is lovely, very sleek, modern, wooden. Wine bottles decorate the shop and seating includes a clean bar type countertop and little tables near the window for street watching. I believe there was some seating in the middle, perhaps picnic table style — definitely a roomy spot. I had a mocha which was really delicious. It was rich and foamy and very tasty. To eat I had the croque madame sandwich, which is a runny egg, ham and Gruyère on a ciabatta bun. It includes mustard but I asked them to leave that out. For one, I don’t like ciabatta so I’m not sure why I ordered this. I feel like the menu didn’t say this was on ciabatta as oppose to the egg sandwich that did, but I could be mistaken and my dislike is not their problem. But, while the egg was of course warm, and the bread was slightly toasted, the ham and cheese were cold. My idea of this type of sandwich would include melted crisp cheese not a cold hand and cheese sandwich with an egg on top. From time to time their was a creamy tasty kick in some bites but I’m not sure what it was or why it wasn’t spread evenly throughout the sandwich. I also didn’t feel so hot after eating this, maybe because I just didn’t like it and shouldn’t have eaten it. All in all, I would tell you to skip the breakfast and just get a coffee. Can’t speak for the lunch though and other reviews seem to speak highly of it.

* Spacious, modern, and chic restaurant/bar! Beautiful turquoise and oak color scheme. * Delicious food — particularly the slow-roasted lamb sandwich. Huge library of libations. * The staff is FANTASTIC. Incredibly accommodating and friendly(shoutout to Oussama, Fred, and Tiffany!). I come here for lunch and happy hour on a weekly basis and am never disappointed. Great go-to lunch and happy hour spot!

I’m sitting at Soma Eats right now waiting for a friend to get off work, so I thought I might as well write a review. The food was surprisingly good. I’ve heard a lot of people talk about this place so I’m glad I had the chance to hit up this joint today. To start off, the space is huge with high ceilings and a vast selection of beer and wines in the back. I ordered the turkey meatloaf sandwich, which tasted amazing when I first bit into it. The Indian spices were unique and flavorful. I would highly recommend it if you’re hungry and in the mood for some«comfort» food. I also had the Greek salad which was a whopping $ 12 but I suppose it was a decent portion. I can’t fathom how people blow money on expensive salads everyday… Anyway, I also had the tomato soup here, the soup of the day. This was really heavy and gross, which is why I deducted one star. The soup texture was more like gravy sauce. Also, it tasted spicy! What kind of tomato soup is this?! Skip the soups, guys. Overall, I would come back here again. Nice ambience and awesome music playlist. The Weeknd is playing in the back as I’m currently typing…

YES. So happy this is by my place. The menu is pretty simple. There’s about 5 sandwiches, just as many salads. All super fresh with seasonal ingredients. I had a hard time making a decision, but ended up with the lamb sandwich. WHOA. Delish. They are very friendly, the place is extremely clean, and would be a great place for breakfast, lunch, or a quick happy hour and bite after work.

Stopped by for a quick breakfast of oatmeal and pour over coffee. Oatmeal was topped with crunchy granola, shredded coconut chips and fresh fruit. It was delicious! The coffee was made fresh, served hot and very strong. A winner in my book. There’s a fantastic bourbon and wine selection, along with other alcohols. Seems like a chill spot to grab a glass of wine or beer from tap to unwind after a work day. I went right when they opened so service was quick. There started to be a line around 7:30a when I was leaving.

SOMA can best be described as one of the new trendy style quick restaurants with some pretty tasty yet simple food. Kinda like a new American fast casual… Anyways, this place can get extremely crowded around the peak lunch/dinner hours and may make it difficult to find a table. The décor and layout of this place is actually pretty cool, complete with take-out pickup line, a large bar and a ton of craft drinks, juices and other drinks. The food is a bit small in portions but healthy and delicious. The egg salad sandwich was good, BLT was awesome and the salads look pretty delicious. Overall, SOMA is a great spot to grab lunch and/or a healthy meal in a timely manner. Pros– Service Ordering sequence Ambiance Craft brews Juices Menu Healthy options Cons– Can get really crowded Smaller portions

Believe the hype– the baked salmon green goddess salad($ 11.95) is f#@king delicious. Avocado, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, and mixed greens with baked salmon… it’s a salad masterpiece. It’s been awhile since I’ve been so pleasantly surprised by a salad dressing, and this creamy basil dressing made every bite so addicting. Just get it. If you’re like me and NEED soup like vampires need blood, they also have a soup of the day. I had the pleasure of having their creamy corn soup, and it was also satisfying. I’ve been inconvenienced by so many mediocre, bland soups lately that this was a breath of fresh air. Can’t wait to try their other soups, though I do wish they filled the cup a wee bit more. I’m just SO feelin this place. They brew Sightglass Coffee, have a good selection of wines and beers, and play r&b(like Miguel and The Weeknd, whaaat). More to love– they close at 10pm, perfect for frequent late diners like me. Don’t let the generic name fool you; SOMA Eats has all of its bases covered and is an awesome spot in my book.

It’s so nice to have a later(ish) night food option in the Financial District area. Especially one that carries Kombucha, Wild Salmon, and Avocado. Three of my favorite things at the moment. I really appreciate SOMA Eats’ weekday happy hour — which is perfect for those looking to casually imbibe with friends without a hectic bar atmosphere. SOMA Eats is also great for those that may be working later at the office and who are looking for healthier food options in walking distance. If you’re not a big bar person but want to meet up with some co-workers or friends in the neighborhood after work — come to SOMA Eats. They’ve got a diverse menu and some solid Happy Hour options when it comes to both food and beer and wine. They even have spirits for purchase — to take home. Trust.

I work fairly close by to this eatery, but have never been. At around 12:45, I decided to grab lunch. There was NO line at that time and plenty of tables. I feel like I really lucked out, since this is a recipe for a popular spot. I ordered the salmon nicoise sandwich, with salmon, egg, garlic aioli, etc. It also came with a side of season edamame. I ate half my sandwich and was completely satisfied. I was able to eat the second half for dinner. It looks like there’s a nice happy hour scene, so next time i will definitely check that out. TMI: The bathrooms are clean and the TP is quality, not the single ply gross kind.

I fell in love yesterday… with a salad! And I couldn’t be happier. The Baked Salmon Greek Goddess Salad at SOMA Eats made my heart(and taste buds) swoon. For just $ 11.95 you get a healthy, guilt-free medley of baked salmon, avocado, cherry tomatoes, shredded carrots, mixed greens, baby kale and romaine with a creamy basil dressing. It’s everything I could possibly want in a salad(minus the unhealthy junk) for a price that’s easy to swallow. SOMA Eats also offers plenty of wines, beers, and ginger ale to help wash it all down. Be warned, this place gets super busy during the lunchtime rush hour. And seating is a bit limited. So your best bet might be to order online and pick up your meal to go. That being said, my co-workers and I found some seats at the restaurant counter, and we received our food in less than 7 minutes. There are plenty of other enticing options on the menu, from healthy salads to hot & cold sandwiches. But I’m going to stick with the Baked Salmon Greek Goddess Salad — the new love of my life!

This spot can be a shit show at lunch, so diners be aware that you may not get a seat. Other than that minor complaint, this spot is awesome! Super healthy offerings in a large, hip locale. My greek salad with pulled chicken was priced at about $ 10-$ 11 and was huge and hearty filled with kale, lettuce, tomatoes, olive tapenade, chicken, avo and more. Bonus: guilt free after a healthy lunch. The sandwiches looked bangin’ presented on a cutting board and all. Definitely a fan for a casual and healthy lunch option to stay or to go.

Greek salad was better than I could have imagined! A mix of cucumber, tomatoes, olive tapenade, sun-dried tomatoes and the most juicy rotisserie chicken nicely chopped in with slivered almonds. I have to admit it was a bit overwhelming walking into this place on a weekday around noon. It was unclear where to order, where to get a menu and where to sit once you finally did order. But we figured it out and I think overall everyone was really happy with the food, and a great price for an average of $ 10 for lunch in SF.

You know you like a place when you’re back again in the same week. To be honest, the first time I went I didn’t quite get the hype. SOMA Eats is a beautiful spot with a lovely, modern interior, but I had to order the Roasted Vegetable Salad to understand my fellow coworkers’ rave reviews. It was tasty, fresh and the roasted eggplant adds great flavor. We’re not alone in loving this place as the line grows quickly during prime lunch hours. Go a little before and you’ll be fine. Also, they have a separate take-out line opposite the main one if it’s too busy. We ordered to-go last time and our salads were quickly made and ready to enjoy back at the office. In addition, there’s quite the beer and wine selection. Not a bad spot to grab something to enjoy after work as well. I’m coming back to try the sandwiches soon!

SOMA Eats is a new-ish edition to the ever-getting-more-crowded landscape around the new tech hub forming in the area. It’s close to Unilocal HQ, which makes it an easy option for a quick lunch or breakfast. The setup is nice and open, with an order-at-the-counter process and appealing coolers full of beer, wine and also plenty of lunchtime-appropriate drinks. The menu is pretty straightforward, focusing mostly on salads and sandwiches, trending towards high-end. There’s a lot of competition in this segment in the area, and SOMA Eats doesn’t disappoint much on quality. My salad and soup were generous and tasty, but not as big as I’d get at Mixt or Split Bread. However I think they’re catering to a more affluent crowd here. The joint gets packed at lunch, and we had to take our food to go(or we would have had to fight for a table). Breakfast is way more mellow here, and the menu is super limited. Coffee drinks and a few breakfast sandwiches, as well as some healthy granola style option. I’m on a low-carb thing so they were nice enough to accommodate by making me a breadless version of a sando with some extra egg. I won’t judge that, since I went way off menu. Suffice to say that if you’re not into sandwiches or granola, your best bet is to go elsewhere. Overall the service is solid, the pace is quick, the space has a nice atmosphere, with lighter wood tables and an upscale feel. I can definitely see myself coming back again when in town. As an aside, I’d like to see more non-sandwich-based breakfast options in this part of town. I always end up at grove when I want just eggs or just an omelet. That joint continues to kind of disappoint. Maybe these folks will throw a non-bready option on the menu? Glad to have it here tho.

After several visits, I can confidently say that I’m really digging the program at SOMA Eats. I’m a huge proponent of the ‘grab and go’ premise near my office for lunch… sitting down at a restaurant usually requires the hawk-eyeing of tables, which doesn’t make for a soul-nourishing lunch experience. I’d rather place my order(for something tasty + healthy) at the counter, wait in an elbow-filled purgatory for a few minutes, and then be on my way. SOMA Eats is a breath of fresh air — the space is actually(gasp) spacious, with plenty of tables, tall ceilings, and all the urban chic trimmings. They also curate an impressive selection of craft beer and wine should you want to get a leg up on your recipe for an evening in done right. The menu is interesting enough to lure me in twice in one week — that actually happened last week — and I’m into everything they’re throwing down, from their magical breakfast sandwiches to their gorgeous, generously-appointed salads. Yep, they’re my lunchtime jam. I like SOMA Eats so much that I’m actually willing to eat lunch on the premises instead of ducking back to my office! I like you, no I really like you.
