My family and I moved into a new home and after a short time I noticed lot of visible mold on a wall hidden by our bed. As I begun to look around the house I noticed a substance on another wall under a paint crack. I began to become increasingly concerned for myself, wife and young kids. So I began to reach out to companies to look into this further and to learn the extent of the problem. I explained my concerns to indoor-restore with my end goal being that I would like to know if this home is safe to inhabit and what I may need to do to make it safe. So they told me not to remove the mold on the wall and have them come out. So I didn’t clean it and had them come out at quite a price. They sent out some young college guy, who unfortunately couldn’t answer a lot of seemingly normal questions for someone with the same scenario. He took air quality readings in a couple rooms and then prepared to depart. I mentioned, don’t you need to look at the attic and under the house? To which I was told that would be extra. I then reminded him of the goal I was hoping to achieve that I articulated prior to him and I would think that would have been included to understand the entire picture. So he poked his head into the attic and under the house. A while later I receive the report. It shows air quality concerns in it. So I call them and ask again what is the extent of my problem, to which they said there was mold in the air and recommended to me some company to come in and remove the wall with the mold. I said, well of course there was mold in the air, I was told not to clean the area. Since then I’ve cleaned the wall, to which I would think the air would then be cleansed… because I had read that mold grows on the paint and does not necessarily penetrate thru to the wall itself. So I asked them for their opinion, to which they did not dispute or comment on(though they recommended tearing out the wall). So I continued to drive at the original goal by asking, what is the extent of the homes mold problem. They would not address this and were convinced that their job was done. I asked them if they could send one of their veteran guys over to at least take a look and answer the questions the first person wouldn’t/couldn’t address. They said no! I reminded them that I have 3 very little kids here and I’m concerned for their health and committed that money to them for assistance on this concern. I mentioned I knew the wall had mold on it, which is why I called them and told them. I didn’t shell out that kind of money to simply confirm the mold on the wall was in fact mold(i’m sorta laughing at myself because this it clearly what I had just done). But I clearly stated that I was concerned about the entire home and needed an expert to asses the extent of the situation. I spent many phone calls with a few individuals over there, but in the end, it was clear they didn’t care. Wouldn’t even let me talk to an expert on the phone. So not only do I still not understand the extent of my home’s problem, I don’t even clearly understand the status of the one wall they seemed to hone in on. Bummer.

So I was in a bind with mold and an uncooperative landlord. I called a few places and and it was very much the same services. With Indoor Restorative it was very friendly, informative and beyond helpful. Their services are certified, priced well, and they had a wealth of info. I ended up moving and not not needing services but was very impressed by there ethic. I was treated great and even given a follow up email. I can only imagine how well they treat clients based on my experience. I’d call them in a heartbeat.
