Back in the day(14 years ago) this was my favorite place. Clean, good and consistent. In the years since we have stopped in but did so less frequently as the food quality has gone down. Today I came forgetting the last time we were here and it was disappointing. First thing I noticed were the tables were sticky. I think the counter looked clean but I like sitting at a table. Chicken teriyaki was thin and dry. The ebi(shrimp) tasted a little off, so I did not eat the roll with shrimp in it. It looked oddly pinkish. The CA roll was good. Portions are generous but doesn’t matter much considering the quality. Sad, nostalgia does not make it a good meal by itself. The food actually has to be up to par considering the price.

Not my favorite, I felt like the roll was small and the cucumber salad had a different flavor to it than I have experienced at most places. I probably won’t go back there for sushi, they did have a curry dish that smelt amazing. One thing I did like about this place is the parking is very easy!

This is my go to spot for a Bento Box in this area! It’s a family owned restaurant with the best customer service. I’m even greeted by my name. Fast, quick and delicious meal whether it’s take out or dining in. I will continue to support this business!

I’m not sure what I expected from a sushi joint in the basement of a parking garage, but this place didn’t blow me away. I had chicken terriyaki and a california roll. The california roll tasted like grocery store sushi, which was ok. The chicken terriyaki was very dry and covered in way too much terriyaki sauce. On the plus side, the food came out fast and it was pretty cheap.

We love to come here when we want sushi and we’re in the city! The parking is not bad because of the parking structure the restaurant is connected to, and it never takes long to get a table. Salmon Tsutsumi Roll for the win! In general, the fish is very fresh, and the rolls are awesome. We’re also fans of the Agedashi Tofu and Hamachi Kama. It’s always so delicious when we eat here and I leave full as heck!

Good place to go for a quick bite. They aren’t usually too busy and the food doesn’t seem to take too long to prepare. Convenient location in Potrero plaza, so it’s easy to go for lunch with coworkers and friends. Short-ish walk from 16th St BART and there’s a few MUNI stops nearby too. The staff is friendly and the food is consistently good. I usually opt for a quick rice plate or sometimes a bento box.

I wish I could give this restaurant a lower review but they don’t have negative stars why do I have such a hostile feeling towards them at the moment but let me tell you although it says they close at 10 they actually stopped caring or answering their phones and shut the kitchen down sometime around 9 I discovered this when I attempted to start calling them to call in an order around 9:15 when they didn’t answer the phone I wanted to order it ahead of time because after a very hard day at work I had a vision of the perfect dinner for me and my little one that consisted of shrimp tempura bento box for her ribs and mashed potatoes from Boston Market for me but of course they couldn’t get on board cuz when I walked in there 30 minutes before they closed they said the kitchen was closed and there everything was shut down and it was because like every time that I’ve been here the place is empty because of this type of service that they provide I’ve never heard of a place that couldn’t make something as simple and quick as tempura refusing to do so when it doesn’t look like they’ve had any customers all night Long Island did they refuse to make us any food they did so looking at my daughter who was hungry and they look like we were bothering them by stepping on their floor maybe it’s just because you’re black if they felt like this or they just feel like they’re better than everyone else either way it’s not a good way to run a business in my opinion (I’m sorry if this is grammatically horrendous or spelled atrociously I hope that you can get the gist of it but I’m too irritated and angry to go back and proofread anything or out

It’s a quick, affordable sushi place. They’ve got lots of those tasty, fried, mayo-infused rolls that are an easy win. I haven’t even tried their sashimi or more traditional rolls, so I can’t speak to the quality of the fish.

We live near here so it’s just convenient to go here when we want to grab sushi. Honestly, I’d rather drive an extra 5 min to go to Sushi Bistro on 24th, which is really legit. If you park in the parking lot and enter through the back way, it’s disgusting. Grosses me out every time. But the sushi rolls are ok enough for us to go maybe a couple of times a year. The lion king roll though has way too much mayo — I had to scrape it all off. I’ve had really good lion king rolls before and this was the worst. I forgot what else we ordered but it tasted better(see pics). The fried banana ice cream was pretty good, not the best I’ve had, but cute presentation and I like that they aren’t shady on the ice cream. The service is pretty nice and fast. Again, worth the 2 – 3 trips we make here a year.

Been there a few times with coworkers, they’re close by to work so it’s awesome, I usually order a bento box… but this time I ordered curry beef over rice. Oh my goodness, it was delicious! The curry has potatoes, beef, carrots and you can taste the spices. The rice is not hard or too soft, it’s just right. The staff and the waitress are very friendly and will refill your tea if they see you’re empty or low. Sometimes service could be slow if they’re really busy. Price is pretty reasonable.

I took a client here for lunch. I had a spicy tuna roll and California roll. My client ordered the mixed sashimi. We both enjoyed our meals and experienced pleasant customer service. I will be back when I visit again.

2015 Update: My wife and I just returned to the Bay Area after living away for the last three years. Of course, we promptly rushed over to our favorite spot, I Luv Sushi Teriyaki. Not only were the rolls as fabulous as we’d remembered, but even more impressive was, Jin, one of the employees, as she remembered our names! Amazing!!! — - - I Luv Sushi Teriyaki is a hidden gem. Situated on Potrero below the Safeway parking lot, if you’re accessing the restaurant through the back door in the parking garage, you know that you’re in possession of some awesome inside information. The chefs at Sushi Teriyaki know what they’re doing, and though they specialize in non-traditional semi-complex sushi rolls everything still tastes fresh and of high quality. Order a Ryan Roll and ask for some ponzu sauce to go with it. In my experience, there are few dishes in the world that can beat this pairing. Seriously. This is one of my favorite spots, and though I’ve been away from SF for a few years, whenever I visit, I make sure to stop in. Without a doubt, I would give Sushi Teriyaki 5 stars, but they need to work on their bathroom situation a little bit. Otherwise the place is awesome!

Service was quick, and the beef teriyaki I had was seasoned perfectly. The only trouble with my meal was that the beef was chopped into tiny pieces with lots of gristle, which made it look as though these may be leftover pieces of meat from preparations of dishes using larger pieces of meat.

I work out of the bay view-hunters point area. There isnt very many fresh clean options to eat out here other than fried foods and junk. Although i dont get to sit in and relax the service is excellent and the food is awesome. The owner is super friendly and always takes care of me and my co-workers. –Repeat customer and will recommend to all.

A real neighborhood gem. I’ve lived in Potrero Hill for the past 3 years but had no idea that there was such a good & inexpensive sushi place right at the Potrero Center. Of course, don’t come here expecting really fancy and hip decorations. It’s homey more akin to your local pizza parlor, clean and well-kept. The proprietor(Jay) has owned the restaurant for 19 years! That’s amazing. Jay and Victor(sushi chef) are both very friendly and kind. I only ordered sushi at this visit since I was craving it. I had the nigiri Hamachi, Sake, a roll of Japanese squash and spicy Hamachi handroll. Everything tasted fresh and had that nice mouthfeel. I’m definitely going to stop by here more often.

This place is AITE for what it is. I use to love coming here and my friends and I use to visit this place when we wanted convenient and affordable Japanese food. However, my last visit here two days ago made me realize I could find better sushi for the price. It seems like they recently changed their menu and along with that jacked up their prices. EVERYTHING was a lot more expensive than what it use to be and I don’t know about you but not sure if I’m down to spend 15 bucks on a mediocre roll. The food is actually okay but it’s the price makes it not really worth it.

Being that this place is so convienant to me, I’ve been coming here occasionally for a little sushi during my lunch hour. I remember when this place opened, I wasn’t a sushi fan but my ex was. We would comprise my coming here. I’d order the bento boxes and he’s order the sashimi and rolls. Now that I’m a sushi lover, I go straight for the good stuff. *Salmon Sashimi: *Misc Spicy Rolls: *Miso Soup: *Spicy Tuna: The sashimi is great. The rolls are pretty good, very interesting combinations but all the sauces(mayo type drizzeled) are a little overdone. I ended up having to wipe some off. The service here is good and the food comes out pretty fast, which is a better alternative than the McDonald’s and other fatty fast food places around it.
