Perfect tuna melt on gluten free bun. Pickles, tomato, lettuce, cukes and delish tuna salad with melted cheese. Took the sandwich next door to Farley’s and enjoyed a coffee and the perfect SFO sun. Very nice staff, too!

You took my order, and asked how my day was. I bluntly said«sh*tty.» Your face fell. You brought me my tuna melt in about 30 seconds and said«I really hope things get better for you.» You also secretly filled my bag with tootsie rolls. Thank you for making a terrible day better.(Context: Orlando Gay Massacre)

I’m never disappointed with the food here. The ingredients are always super fresh — Hazel’s Chef salad is the best. Staff is helpful and always smiling. A great lunch go-to for sure!

This place rules. Great service. Great Owner. Great Food. I work in the Mission Bay area and this is a go to spot for lunch.

The place looks beautiful like a little doll house. I loved the décor. The food is overpriced. I ordered 2 egg and cheese sandwiches with crossaint instead of a bagel. They charged me $ 16. Can you believe that? There is little place to sit outside.

Love their food. It is always super fresh and delicious. I’m a big fan of their salads. Hazel’s Chef sakad is awesome with the smoked provolone cheese, makes this my go to.

My go to sandwich shop on Portreo Hill. A hefty sandwich, nice folks, and a great view of downtown just a few feet away. Hazel’s sauce takes a sandwich to an all new level… just delicious… but it’s wet… so it can get sloppy… just ask for less. I order the 5a with whole wheat, Jack cheese, sprouts, hummus, avocado, tomatoes, and sauce… it won’t get any better than that!!!

BOMB-dot-com. I love their tofu melt, and I could eat it over and over. Hazel’s is a great neighborhood shop in Potrero Hill. Grab coffee next door at Farley’s, eat Hazel’s for lunch, stroll up and down 18th street and enjoy the view of the city. Only qualm: no seating. But you can sit on the Farley’s outdoor benches/tables if you’d like!

The melt sandwiches here are seriously so delicious. They’re big and messy and so packed with flavor. It’s a tiny, neighborhood place, but the service wasn’t overtly friendly, but I really have no complaints or problems with how I got my food. The toasted bread, and the blend of meats, veggies, and sauces in their sandwiches truly makes this place a hidden gem that you have to visit to understand.

Big fan of this neighborhood sandwich shop. Portions are huge and people are really nice. Always get the half sandwich and half soup combo with Dutch crunch! Ingredients seem very fresh too

hazel’s is great to grab a quick bite when you have no idea what you feel like but want a tasty, dependable meal. my favorites are the toasted bagel with lox spread, the tuna melt(with that amazing special sauce and balsamic onions!) and their veggie chili. the husband dreams about their baked tofu melt, we HAVE to eat here at least once a week!

I recently moved to SF from the LA area and was so excited to find some new favorite restaurants(on the healthier side of the food scale). Hazel’s Kitchen makes my list with the best breakfast burrito I’ve had in a long time! The staff were welcoming and made it very easy to customize my order. I will definitely be going back for breakfast and can’t wait to try their lunch items.

I’ve legitimately never eaten a single bad thing at Hazel’s. I work a couple blocks away, and I’m in there very often. Sandwiches: I generally don’t eat cheese, beef, or pork, which limits what I’ll get in the sandwich department. But they’re very cool about subbing something else for the cheese for no charge(avocado, yes please!). Salads: I’ve had a bunch of the salads. The mediterranean one is definitely my favorite. It’s gigantic, and the balsamic onions really bring it all together. Highly recommended. Soups: Their rotating special is usually pretty solid. However, I usually pass on the veggie chili that they have every day. Other stuff: I’ve never had the melts(see above about cheese), but my coworkers swear by them. They look amazing! I’d also highly recommend the tacos.

Yum yum and yum. Didn’t have time to wait at Plow so walked just up the street and stumbled upon Hazels kitchen. Everything is freshly made and absolutely delish with a great selection from breakfast to lunch items. Check it out!

This is a great small neighborhood spot in Potrero Hill serving up amazing sandwiches. I’ve only been here for breakfast and recommend the smoked salmon bagel with cream cheese or their bacon, egg, cheese croissant. Come here, order a breakfast sandwich, order a cup of coffee from Farley’s next door and sit at the parklet and people watch.

We stayed at an airbnb near hazel’s kitchen and came here due to the rating. we def did not disappoint. On a Monday 9am breakfast time, we are a group of 4 and we were able to sit down and had a nice sandwich. Where do I begin? Hazel’s kitchen is hipster yet cozy to settle down. Genuine service and fresh ingredients. Wait time wasnt too bad after ordering, I would say maybe 5 – 10 min. My friend got a smoked salmon sandwich, she received a generous amount of smoked salmon and it was so fresh and so tasty. While we are enjoying our sandwiches, we see customers coming in/calling in and it is obvious that every one just loves this corner sandwich store. Point to note, Hazel’s Kitchen does not serve coffee but if you are craving for one, the store next to it has some really nice coffee.

Love Hazel’s Kitchen! Used to live right by here so would hit it up every single weekend. Everything they do is good and fresh. Super reliable. Notes: — I’d prefer many sandwiches at Hazel’s over many sandwiches at Ike’s — Breakfast burrito is amazing. Greasy. — Sandwiches are all awesome. When I want to be healthy I’ll get a turkey sandwich on wheat bread and it’s great. When I don’t care, I’ll get an italian melt which is amazing. — French toast with fruit is soooo good. Plow had a huge wait so I just came to Hazel’s and got equivalently good french toast. Actually just took my french toast over to farley’s next door and got a glass of milk to go along with it. They seem to be chill with this. — Lunch burrito was the only thing I wasn’t crazy about. Meat was a bit chewy. Also, the tortilla was like a wheat tortilla or something? Was expecting flour. Bit odd. A rare miss for Hazel’s.

I felt like taking a long stroll from the east mission over to Potrero for lunch one day and came here on a recommendation from a friend. There was a long line because it was prime lunch hour, but it moved very quickly. My coworker and I found two lovely seats on the parklet outside which appears to be shared with the coffee shop next door. I ordered a turkey sandwich with all of the fixings, and added avocado(obviously). The sandwiches are HUGE! I saved half of it and ate it for dinner! I also ordered a side salad. I feel like you never know what to expect with side salads but I was pleasantly surprised with fresh ingredients like strawberries and goat cheese! Goat cheese has to be my number one weakness in life. My coworker ordered a hot veggie sandwich that he devoured so quickly I wasn’t sure he even tasted it. He also got a side of the heavily loaded cheesy mac n cheese. Delishhhhh. Although this is a little bit of a trek from my office, I will definitely come back sometime when I feel like taking a long lunch… or maybe even on the weekend :) The restaurant itself is extremely small with barely any seating inside, so take it to go or sit outside on the adorable parklet and enjoy the beautiful portero hill while you eat!
