I’ve been using Bonnie for haircuts for a while; even after I moved to the east bay I still come back to SF for her haircuts. Reasonably priced and good quality and attention to the details! The salon offers other full services as well as massage and is conveniently located.

Just got my second haircut from Jackie(works Mondays and Tuesdays). She does an excellent job. Location is super convenient near the Trader Joe’s on Cal/Hyde. Strongly recommend!

Got my hair cut by a hairstylist other than Bonnie and got a good cut. It’s a nice place, reasonable price, and got the haircut I was hoping for. I’ll probably go back.

I just moved to the neighborhood and went here based on Unilocal reviews. I was disappointed to say the least. I have pretty easy hair to cut. In addition I showed a picture of me with the exact haircut I wanted, detailed what I wanted(1 on the sides, leave the very front a bit longer) — both of which she did not do. She left my sides much longer than I wanted despite me clearly stating I wanted a 1, and cut my front shorter than the rest. I’m not sure how you mess up such an easy haircut — especially since I had been getting previously for a fraction of the price. The upside is Bonnie is very nice. Unfortunately won’t be coming back here again.

Walked in and asked for a dry cut — just two inches off the bottom, no shampoo, no layers, no bangs. I was told $ 45. Seemed really high, but I was in a hurry and needed a cut badly. As my hair was being blown dry(from a quick spritz), I noticed the sign said $ 35 for a woman’s cut. I pointed that out and she said it was $ 35, but $ 45 with a blow dry. ??? When I gave my credit card, I chose the lowest tip. When the charge was finalized I noticed she charged me $ 50! I said«I thought you said $ 45.» She said«no, $ 50.» Rip-off

Best haircut in San Francisco! Bonnie is a wonderful person and she consistently gives phenomenal haircuts. I’ve been coming to her for over two years and she has yet to let me down. Highly recommended to anyone and everyone.

Great hairdresser. Men’s haircut is well and quickly done. Have been getting my hair cut a couple of times, it’s a perfect place.

Sooo, I tried to get my hair cut here this past weekend, and I’m not gonna give a one star review because I feel like I would really need to sit in a chair and experience something like a bad haircut to do so. That being said, I did read some of the reviews on here, and when I came and saw some guy getting his hair cut, and not looking to great i was a little skeptical. Then I looked at the prices. Wow. $ 28 dollars for a men’s haircut. I even asked her I just need like a little cut and she said that would still be that price. That is insanely outrageous, and almost charging double for a service basically. That combined with the fact that so many reviews said they had messed up hair coming out of here, I chose not to risk it. Plus, she said I would have to come back in an hour! She was the only one in there, and I get taking appointment cuts, but if someone walks in to a haircut place and they have to wait an hour, you need to hire more staff, or else you’ll rush haircuts that you’re doing because you know another person will be coming in soon. All in all, there are WAYYYY cheaper places to get your haircut, where you don’t have to wait so long, and will probably get a equal if not better haircut.

Will never come back to this place. Bonnie is the main hair cutter and she’s fine(I’ve had better and worse haircuts). She took other people in front of me even though I had a reservation once or twice, but stopped when she felt guilty about it. Not the biggest deal. Just had one of my worst haircut experiences from one of the other stylists today. I asked for a four on the sides and she ended up cutting it almost close to the skin(I swear a Gillette Fusion could not have done a better job). Doesn’t stop there. She uses only a hair texturizer to «cut» my hair and only used regular scissors when I asked if she would. My hair remained half cut at the end, which I had to fix at home in the mirror. She finished up by bringing back my sides so that my sideburns were half the width I began with in the beginning, which I did not ask for. I asked her throughout to stop and fix things, to which she only replied in grunts and then at the end when I said my hair looked terrible she had the balls to say it’s looked better and that I was wrong. I hope Bonnie reads this because this woman needs to be fired and I will never come back to this place because of the terrible haircut I got and the response and service I received. As an alert to someone who goes, this stylist is Vietnamese, will make small talk about topics she has absolutely no idea what she’s talking about, and will probably also tell you that she knows better than you about what hair you want. Going to Bonnie is fine. Never take a chance with this other woman.

I should have known better. I had a funny feeling when i talked to Bonnie about how i wanted my hair cut. I showed her a picture and she said that she understood. All i wanted was layers along the ends. Nothing major. What worried me during the haircut was that she didnt use scissors once, just a blade to cut the end off. When she finished and blowed dried my hair(which was not good at all, i couldve blowed dried it better) i noticed that not only did she not do what i ask but she left a big chunk of hair that she cut in the middle. «That’s what you wanted right? Chunky hair?» I was so upset, and after i showed her the picture, AGAIN, she just said«oh, sorry». If that is the way you apologize to your clients after you’ve made a mistake, and your client leaves unhappy… then i don’t think you should own a business.

I just moved to San Francisco from Philadelphia and needed a cut. I went and saw Bonnie based on these reviews and I’m glad I did. Great cut and she told me some great things to check out and do. I found my new place for a cut.

Not good for girls! I badly need a trim and this place is walking distance to my apartment in nob hill. I came here early Saturday morning and no one was in the salon, I should have turned around and walked out. I asked for a simple, straight cut. I have pretty thin, fine hair that is slightly damaged from chlorine exposure. She decided to cut off all my damaged hair, which would have been fine until she gave me bangs that are so short I look like I have a mullet. Not joking. It is HORRIBLE. I did not even want bangs. I went home and tried to style it, I ended up going back because the hair was longer in the back and I asked her to fix it. She did, but I still have a mullet. I would never go back and I will never be a ‘walk in’ at a salon again.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with giving a bad review to a place that gives you a bad haircut. No, there was nothing wrong the service — she, was polite, etc. But this was a disaster. And I’m a guy. It’s hard to do that to a guy’s head, but she did. You know how there’s always one guy in the boy band who has the attempt-at-a-stylin-hairdo that funadamentally just. doesn’t. work. Yeah. That was me. I was that awkward, unpopular guy in the boy band. The one who plays drums. I should have known when she started with the razor, rather than scissors. It went downhill from there. Part of my head became spikey. Part of it was not. All of it was no good.

Bonnie is the owner of the shop, and rents space to other stylist. That being said, I try to always deal with Bonnie. She cuts my hair well and is very nice. I think the cleanliness and quality of my haircut is commensurate of the price. From all the reviews I’m reading, it might not be a place for you if you’re of the opposite gender. … and a final word to everyone not liking their haircut. Of course, you will likely get at least one less than awesome haircut from a stylist who is not your regular person. I had to go to 2 places before I found Bonnie. I think its unfair to give the business a bad review for a style you may not like. If they’re rude, cut your hair unevenly, or gave you a giant skip then perhaps it is warranted.
