Pros– great bun, perfectly sized burger, fairly efficient ordering system(we were in a line at least 25 deep but had our food within 40 minutes of getting in line). Cons– stale/lukewarm fries– my burger was overcooked, definitely well-done despite the menu proclaiming medium-well is their standard; when I’m paying $ 12 for choice Niman Ranch beef I should have known better and at least attempted to order it medium-rare. The burger itself was pretty flavorless and tough. I got the Western Bacon Blue Ring and immediately regretted it after bite one since the blue cheese was so overwhelming– they really slathered it on. I like blue cheese but since the menu stated«crumbled» blue cheese I wasn’t picturing it correctly– it was more like a quarter cup of melted oily blue cheese sliding off the bun and all over my hands. Anyway, probably would pick a better spot for burgers next time in San Francisco, if only because the fries were so meh.

Average food, high prices, tourist attraction = 3.5 stars. I remember distinctly liking Gott’s in Napa, but I wasn’t too impressed by the Ferry Building location. You place your order at the counter and fight the crowds for seats. My bf and I ordered a couple burgers, garlic fries and a vanilla shake. Unfortunately, they were out of TWO of the beers that we both wanted(and it was still early!). FOOD: We got the California burger and the Chili cheeseburger. Both of our patties were a little dry, but the burgers overall were very greasy. The fried egg on my boyfriend’s burger was a tad overcooked, and missing the runny yolk that makes adding a fried egg worth it. The grilled chilies on my burger were good though, and I liked the soft bun but it didn’t hold up too well. The garlic fries were just okay — super garlicky and nicely crisp, but nothing extraordinary. The highlight was definitely the vanilla milkshake. They use Three Twins organic ice cream, and it was super rich and creamy! Overall, my favorite burger joint is still Roam Burgers, but if you’re in the area, Gott’s is a nice place to people-watch and enjoy a milkshake.

I came in with my mom and sister Wednesday before the super bowl for lunch & weren’t disappointed. I had a bacon cheeseburger(perfect medium) and onion rings(maybe the best I’ve ever had). Mom had the green chili burger & garlic fries, sis had the Cobb salad & sweet potato fries. Both of their fries were tasty & crisp. Fast and yummy.

I really enjoyed this burger spot the meal we had was excellent. I had the Wisconsin sourdough and my wife had a vegetarian burger which was prepared to perfection. There is free refills on fountain sodas and an individual comes around asking you if you’d like more to drink which I thought is phenomenal and an excellent show of service. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back and recommend this to family and friends.

Visited the Embarcadero for the Superbowl festivities after work and stopped by for a quick dinner. It is a bit pricey but it is a touristy spot — I can’t complain. My friend and I ordered the Texas Avocado Burger, Crispy Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich, and Garlic Fries. If you like the garlic fries from AT&T ballpark you’ll love these garlic fries! The burger and chicken sandwich were both juicy and filled with flavor. I will def come back to try the tacos!

Right by the pier, you can people watch and some fun times talking to friends. It’s even nicer when the sun the sun is out. Grab a seat outdoors and try and grab seat indoors, that is if there is any. Somethings that I have tried were the patty melt, onion rings, fries, and wine. If you like onion rings, these onion rings are cut the right way! Yes, you know what I mean… how many times you sink your teeth into an onion ring, and the batter falls off the whole ring? You’re left with the raw onion! Well, this one… take a bite… you will get the batter and the onion. I know it may be silly, but onion ring esters, you will enjoy it! Lol… the people around you might not?! Lol! They serve beer and blue bottle coffee too! Can’t wait to go back?!

I’ll give this place credit where credit is due. And that’s none other than a good old fashioned burger joint. The catch is that its located in the heart of the tourist trap area adjacent to the Ferry Building in San Francisco. And this is where you will find«Gott’s Roadside» which opened its doors to the city by the bay back in 2004. I’ve been to the original St. Helena location several times. And every time I’ve eaten there, their burgers have always been consistently mouth-watering and delicious. Which gives me all the more reason to have faith in trust in this San Francisco location. One thing that was eerily similar was the wait times. At both locations, there is usually a line that snakes towards the outside of the business. Not a big deal as long as I’m getting a quality meal. I actually came here on a whim as I did not expect dining here for lunch. Reason being is because prior to coming here, I was at the«Super Bowl City» event(located nearby at the Embarcadero/Justin Herman Plaza) and refused to pay $ 18 for a burger and $ 12 for a beer. So my lady and two friends all came into terms that this would be the place we would be eating our lunch. As far as the layout to «Gott’s Roadside», the inside has a rather metallic and industrial look to it which flows well with it being near the Ferry Building. It is spacious though and can accommodate large groups. Additionally, they do offer picnic table styled seating outside which is what we chose since the weather was sunny(but a tad cold and breezy considering it was in late-January). The menu is laid out very simple and easy to read as they offer a nice variety of the signature burgers, sandwiches, salads, hot dogs, fries, tacos, and even chili. They also carry a fairly decent selection of bottled and draft beers, red and white wines, hard cider, and fountain drinks. And finally they have an extensive dessert menu that consists of ice cream, gelato, frozen yogurt, shakes, and floats. Since we had waited in line about 20 minutes until we ordered our food, we all knew exactly what we wanted. My lady went for a standard«Cheeseburger»(for $ 7.99) while I decided on trying something different, their«Ahi Burger»(for $ 15.99). This burger consisted of sushi grade Ahi tuna seared rare with ginger wasabi mayonnaise, Asian slaw, and cilantro on a toasted egg bun. We also decided on splitting an order of their«Garlic Fries»(for $ 3.99). And to drink, I decided on trying a pint of «Saint Archer Brewing Co.» dark beer. There was actually a vendor near the register promoting their beers and best of all, every one of their beers were selling for only $ 6.00! After paying the cashier, I was given a pager then proceeded outside. Within 10 short minutes, our food was ready! My Ahi burger had a perfect consistency of flavor and tenderness. It can be one of the trickiest seafood meats to cook but it held up well in the toasted egg bun and didn’t fall apart. The Asian slaw added a nice crunch factor while the wasabi mayo added a nice kick to the flavor. This was, however the most expensive item on the menu and at $ 15.99, I feel that the price should’ve been just a few bucks cheaper. However, the Garlic Fries were absolutely delicious while the garlic butter and parsley added a nice presentation. I also tried a couple bites of my ladies Cheeseburger and that was cooked well and to perfection. Overall, «Gott’s Roadside» is an excellent choice if you plan on dining here. Whether you’re a tourist or local, you should expect a decent meal for the value. I was impressed by the level of service as the entire staff had a smile on his/her face even though there were lines out the door. And do keep in mind, considering this is San Francisco, you might expect a very long wait. As far as the burgers go, they’re a far step above your local fast food joint. I would even rate them higher than Red Robin or Chili’s. But if you’re craving good roadside comfort food, then give«Gott’s Roadside» a try.

I’ve never been to the OG Gott’s and I guess this is as close as I will get, so that’s how I ended up giving them 3 stars. So, needless to say, I’ve been here twice and both times we waited on line for what felt like forever, but it was probably 20 minutes or so. 4th of July night & Superbowl City opening day are not ideal days to visit anywhere, so if they rock it like a 5 star diner all the other days, I trust your judgement. Green chili burger sounds like it’s gonna pack a punch… but it doesn’t. Jalapeño mayo sounded great, but was flat. The giant green chili may have been charred, but they clearly yanked it off the coals 12 minutes early. Burger had promise with a few bites and the remaining bites were bland. Chili cheese fries were ok. Chili was almost tasty, but not great or good or bad. Fries were pretty solid considering. Overall, I think this spot is exactly what I let it be. Good in a pinch and far far away from a chosen destination. It’s kinda pricey, but not as bad as the other options at the Ferry Building Marketplace.

The only item on the menu my family and I enjoyed were the shakes and we probably wouldn’t have to wait 30 mins just to get our drinks if we ordered at their walk through window. Their burgers were alright(should of taken the walk to smash burger) the buns were soggy it tasted like it was sitting for awhile and it lacked all the veggies, our onion rings were burnt! And the fries were stale! Their customer service was not so great either… our cashier had an attitude which is probably from dealing with Super Bowl city week but he should of just faked his smile or called off but overall won’t be coming here again!

We only came here because other places were closed. It was Super Bowl 50 weekend so there were lines everywhere. We were starving and everything else was closed and this place was near the Bay Bridge and fireworks display so we came here. Long line, but it went pretty fast. I didn’t enjoy my burger, the bun was not toasted and it didn’t seem like it’s the egg bun that it was supposed to come in. It was crowded inside but plenty of cold outside seating. They should have heat lamps outside so people would be more likely to sit there.

Delicious but pretty pricey. I understand that it in a very tourist area, so I can see why it’s a little expensive. Came here after the Star Wars battle. When first walking in, I stared at the wall and only saw alcohol listed on the walls. Finally found a menu to look at later on. Ordering was fast without a hassle. Got the avocado bacon burger and garlic fries. Asked for a cup of water and the lady pointed all the way to the opposite end of the place. We walked there to get water and it was out so we asked someone for water. They mentioned that they can refill it but there was also water at the other end too… The original end we were at and also where my group was sitting. Finally made back to that side and the water was out too. Gave up and just ate our food. The mustard was delicious! It’s a must try!!! I really liked the garlic fries and wish I had more of it!

Greasy burgers done right… greasy. Gott’s is not the place you go to when you’re counting your calories. Gott’s is where you go for juicy burgers, mountains of fries, and milkshakes galore. The establishment is frequently crowded as people fight for seats within the limited space as most of the restaurant is occupied by the line to order food. The employees at Gott’s are friendly and efficient, and the food is generously portioned and very filling. There is some variety among the different burgers but for the most part, they taste very similar. Gott’s, good for a burger treat if you don’t mind the wait.

Gott’s will always be Taylor’s Automatic Refresher in my heart, but i’m glad that the place is still delivering awesome burgers and killer fries after all these years. The prices ain’t cheap, but the quality of the food is well worth the occasional splurge in my book. If you’re tired from fighting the crowds at the Ferry Building, or just hangry from a day out and about, Gotts has got your back. There’s an outdoor seating area that is wonderful when the sun is out, and quite chilly when it’s set. The line to order can snake out the door and down the hallway of the Ferry Building, so don’t wait too long before getting in line(and be prepared to order when you get to the counter!) The burgers are some of the best that I’ve ever had, and they keep me coming back for more each time. I’m not a personal fan of the garlic fries — too garlicky for my tastes– but that is an option if you’re worried about a pesky vampire stalking you home. I’ve never been disappointed coming here, and have also never had enough room in my stomach after the burger and fries to try a shake. Bring your worst hunger, it will be no match for Gott’s.

What can I say, I’m addicted to their Ahi Poke Tacos! Three crispy tacos with ahi tuna, slaw, sesame and avocado. I could eat these all day! This time we added some garlic fries, sweet potato fries, a couple of Western Bacon Blue Ring burgers(beer batter onion ring, Pt Reyes crumbled Blue Cheese, bacon, pickles and a red onion). And to wash it down, a nice coffee espresso shake. Yeah, this place is a little pricey, but you can’t put a price on quality. It’s that good!

Had the drunchies last night after happy hour at Sen’s in Embarcadero four(which btw is totallllyyyy worth it if you have a little bit of cash) And decided to get some drunchy food on. FOOD: Blue Cheese Burger |4/5|: 9.99 TOTALLYYY should have gotten a burger, it was a good burger, a bit on the smaller side. When you take a bite into it the juices just come dripping down, which shows that it’s not a dry burger. The flavors go well together. Overall was a good burger, but it wasn’t the GREATEST blue cheese burger I’ve ever eaten. Lol. Also slightly bit on the smaller side for the price, then again. This is the city. Haha, think slightly bigger than an in n out burger. Ahi Tuna Tacos |2/5|: 14.99 Didn’t hit the mark for me :(very little bit of Ahi Tuna. The entire combo with the crunchy taco. Ahhhhh, idk how to describe it, it just seemed like an Ahi mix… With… a crunchy taco. The tuna itself though seemed pretty fresh. The sauce itself tasted pretty good. But all of it combined. Wasn’t really a good combo for me. There were a total of three tacos. Sweet potato fries |2/5|: 3.99 I love love love sweet potato fries with dipping sauce. The fries here, by itself, seemed very dry and very bland. No dipping sauce.

The burger is amazing. Yep, #amazing. In fact, I would argue, one would be hard-pressed to find a tastier combination of the perfect vanilla shake, garlic fries and perfectly cooked bacon cheese burger. What separates Gott’s Roadside from one of my other favorites(SD) is its«rarity.» The only reason to be at the Ferry Building is — with friends, colleagues from work or showing off San Francisco’s beautiful Embarcadero. Making the trek to Gott’s any other time — when you live in SF, can be a toll. Making the trek to Gott’s any time — is worth the HIKE. I know, total contradiction — it’s kinda like working out: «Oh do I really feel this today?» And then when you go, you’re all, «Oh, YES! I’m so happy I went.» Well, that’s the Gott’s experience. It’s as close to true euphoria one can get — LEGALLY and with family in tow! Great outdoor seating, moves quickly and ALWAYS clean!

I have tried Gott’s a couple of times and I quite like the sandwiches in here. Also, conveniently located in the Ferry building. But be sure to come in early as it gets very crowded during weekdays for lunch They have a great out-door seating too. My favorite food here is Crispy Jalapeño chicken sandwich. The sweet potato fries and the garlic fries are great accompaniments. I am also yet to try the soft serve ice creams. Definitely a good spot for lunch.

Super yummy! Was walking on our way to Pier 39 and my brother and I decided to stop in. It seems roughly old fashioned, but we both got different versions of chicken sandwiches. We sat outside and our food was ready in roughly 8 minutes, so not a long wait. I also got a mint shake and it was delicious! Definitely would check it out if you’re in the area.

The Ferry Building marketplace is the top tourist destination in the city. Unfortunately, we have to pay tourist price here as well. I was here a few times in the past. And all the previous visits have only been for the restaurant’s gourmet milkshakes. Despite being pricey for $ 7.50, I do like the local and fresh ingredients mixed into the thick shakes. Finally, I had the restaurant’s gourmet burgers. I got the Blue Cheeseburger. For $ 10.99, I get a thick 1⁄3 of pound medium well patty with lettuce, tomatoes and crumbled blue cheese from Point Reyes in a bun. There is no combo meals served here and every item is sold separately. Therefore I also got an order of garlic fries and ordered a bottle of Drake’s: 1500APA. Though the burger is pricey, but I do like the blue cheese offering. The garlic fries wasn’t too exciting. And the local brew from San Leandro has 5.5% ABV and very crisp with a perfect amount of hops. Despite being forewarn about the prices, I wanted to try the burger. I thought the burger was not bad. And I do enjoy the ten local brews on tap for an expanded option!
