I really like the gallery. Their choice in art is really provocative and interesting. I was fascinated with the surrealist Oblinski. The place is conveniently located just off of the square. One day… there is a piece I want.

Awesome gallery featuring the amazing contemporary surrealist Rafal Oblinski. There were several other artists featured, none of which were as impressive as Oblinski, but good in their own right. The hostess was absolutely cordial and made my lady and I feel like we were more than welcome, despite our shoddy, walked around China Town all day, appearance. I highly recommend you check out this Gallery as well as the artist named above.

I stopped in here while on my way to Zara. The surrealist piece of art I saw caught my eye. I simply wanted to peruse the gallery not necessarily buy anything. So, with that said I was warmly greeted by one of the ladies working there who assumed that I was going to buy a piece. ASSUMED! «Nope, Señorita I am just looking, not looking to buy» I felt that it was a little pushy. She obviously knew I liked the pieces by Olbinski. I can’t complain she introduced me to an artist whom I have never even heard of before. The one piece that I liked the most was the Mona Lisa piece that was like a Mona Lisa Matryoshka doll set. In short I felt that my perusing lead to the assumption that I wanted to buy. She kept throwing out prices of pieces. I really only wanted to look. But, in all honesty that Mona Lisa piece was rad. In fact Olbinski’s work is really good. It was very Dali-esq. There was one piece that I saw of Olbinski’s called«Identity of Meaning» that reminded me of Dali’s «Rosa Meditativa». In short this gallery is yet another«El Paseo» like gallery in Palm Desert. The surrealist pieces were really good the others well it’s art and to each it’s own.

I’ve never been the kind of girl to just randomly stop by an art gallery, but last night as I was walking home, a fascinating painting in the window caught my eye. I did a double-take, and noticed the sign on the door that said to come on in… so I did. I wandered through the gallery, stopping to study some very interesting surrealist pieces — obviously by the same artist as the small one that had caught my eye. «It’s Rafal Olbinski,» said the gallery girl. «We have several of his pieces: lithographs, originals, and an original pencil sketch. He’s still alive, you know.» I wandered some more, barely noticing the other pieces, until I found the back room: all Olbinski! Oh, it made me happy. The gallery girl followed me back there, and explained some of his pieces to me. Turns out he’s Polish, and many of his works were commissions for opera companies. We chatted a little more, and Allyson(the gallery girl) offered to email me Olbinski’s bio, as they were out. I think I’m in love! Um… with Olbinski, not Allyson. Though she’s cool too.

This family-owned and operated gallery has been at this Union Square location since 1993, and offers only original prints, paintings, and sculpture. They carry a large selection of early and recent works by Bolivian artist Graciela Rodo Boulanger, including oils, etchings, lithographs, and sculpture. Her work, whimsical and vibrant with color, is reason enough to browse here.

This gallery has a very electic array of art. I admit I’ve never stepped foot into the place but I would often stop and stare at the art. The first thing that caught my eye was the work of Olbinski. Wonderful stuff. Somewhat Dali-esque but toned down by lots.
