Elke Ullmer, LMFT, MA, BFA

Elke is an excellent psychotherapist. She has a gift for seeing what is happening in the moment, especially any parts of the other person that is vulnerable or tentative about being seen, and responds with compassion, deep regard, and just the right amount of reassurance and levity. She’s not afraid to say the harder things that need to be said, and she can be heard because she speaks with understanding and acceptance. Elke has been my colleague for several years and I’ve had the pleasure of working with her in many contexts, from therapist training to supervision and consultation to group therapy work. I recently participated in a women’s mythology and creativity group that she led and I got to experience first-​hand her capacity for welcoming and working with everything conscious and unconscious. She created and held space for the group’s needs to emerge in a natural and evolving way, while also attending to her own role and place in the group. I recommend her for individuals, couples, and groups.
