Little place on Clement, super cheap and good quality food! I got a good amount of produce for a hair above $ 15! I know where I am going to become a regular

El Grande had been my go to produce market in the Outer Richmond for years. Sadly after a number of really bad experiences with bad produce at higher prices, I’ve decided to take my business elsewhere. There just isn’t any pride in the quality of their produce. On a number of occasions I’ve gotten mealy old stone fruit this year and pineapples that are all brown inside. Now when you pay $ 1.99 for stone fruit and $ 6 for a pineapple you expect quality.

So glad I found this place! I am new to the area and now have FRESH veggies at super low prices. Can’t ask for much more than that! Also, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Dont forget, $ 10 minimum on cards and bring your own bags!

Great produce at much cheaper prices than supermarkets. Nice cross section of Mexican and Mediterranean products. Aside from the cornucopia of fresh veggies and fruit, they sell homemade salsa, dry beans and lentils, queso fresco and their own small batch Mexican style sour cream –things you cannot find at your local Safeway. They also stock the freshest tomatillos in town — salsa verde anyone? The staff are very friendly as well. Great Mexican music blasting on the speakers enhances the atmosphere.

Very good produce(although you have to hunt /dig through at times, but that is to be expected) at reasonable prices.

Pros: — Really friendly staff — Great selection of produce at inexpensive prices(love their pomelos!) Cons: — Not so great selection of non-produce items(think canned and boxed food) $ 10 Credit Card minimum!

how can a 99 cent pineapple not grab your attention? I walked by and ended up getting the pineapple, some oranges, baby peppers and a pear all for under five bucks! I got a plastic bag too. I love this place. great prices and I am looking forward to having the pineapple later this evening. I think the oranges were 49 cents a pound which is totally reasonable in fact it’s super cheap! and the peppers were 99 cents for the whole bag! the cashier wasn’t friendly, but she wasn’t rude either.

This is a great produce market in addition to a decent amount of other items. The beauty of it is the wide variety of quality fruits and vegetables. The prices are as low as I’ve found anywhere else. When in season, the citrus is at its best. I was disappointed in the navel oranges last time, so the market loses a star. But the pummelo I tried more than made up for it. It was definitely more juice than anything I’ve had before. They seem to get their produce from all over the Western Hemisphere and therefore any time of year you can get something you love at a really good price.

People love the prices I can not argue with that. I come here only for the casa sanchez chips which I adore. This place is as bare bones as possible but has an amazing selection of fruits and vegetables(as to the quality I will leave that to others). They also have unique items that can really only be found in mexico, central and south America. Cases of pastries as well. Why the three stars… the woman who is the cashier there is just a buzz kill, unfriendly Tijuana mama.

I was in the neighborhood and ducked in to grab some missing ingredients for dinner. Prices seemed decent and the fruits and veggies looked like they were in good condition. The cashier was also friendly and seemed happy which is refreshing after shopping at some of the Asian markets nearby.

If we’re in the outer Richmond district, we try to stop by El Grander Produce on Clement. They have extensive selection of fruits and vegetables at reasonable prices. The prices are much better than what you can get at Safeway or Lucky’s. The do have some limited selection of grocery items, but fruits and veggies are their forte. The workers are friendly too.

My new go-to enroute to Marin from SFO. A great find, and affordable. Friendly people work here, too. No need to bother with high end produce at big food purveyors like Whole Foods, United, or others. Fresh, cheap and local. And a hop, skip and jump from GGB, 19th Ave, etc. Park in front no problem

I don’t know why I didn’t discover this produce grocer earlier, but I’m so glad I did! They carry a pretty comprehensive selection of your everyday fruits and veggies. Lots of goodies if you’re into juicing, like I’ve recently become obsessed with! I came here and stocked up on carrot, beets, bunched kale, spinach, garlic, apples, red peppers, eggplant, and a bag of walnut for around $ 16. Really fresh, really cheap, really close to my apartment. Score!

Since this telling-people-what-I-got-for-$ 25 seems to be a thing you all are doing, here’s what I got: * 5 russet potatoes * 6 onions(4 yellow, 2 red) * 3 shallots * 3 avocados * 3 Roma tomatoes * 2 large bottles of vegetable oil($ 5.19 each: that’s almost half the cost right there) * 2 red bell peppers * 2 pounds red grapes * 1 English cucumber * 118-count bag of tortillas * 1 bunch Italian parsley * one sore shoulder from lugging it all home(two blocks away) That’s right. I live *two blocks away* from the best produce deal in town. I respect the frugality of everyone else who shops at El Grande … and I invite you all to suck it. :)

Love this place. Got fresh produce for reasonable price. Parking is a pain around the area but its worth the time looking for parking. I refuse to buy my produce in Safeway after finding this place. I can’t wait to go back and shop for my next round of veggies and fruit.

I come here all the time. The staff is friendly and she selection is great. But lets be honest, the real reason I come here is because the prices! The vegetables and fruits are sooooo fresh and so CHEAP! You really can’t find more competitive prices in the area. They don’t have some common fruits like clementines and such. Eitherway, get the best bang for your buck here. :)

I like this produce market. They have a great selection of produce at a very good price. Just yesterday I got four tomatoes, a jalapeño, two serrano peppers, cilantro, a pomegrante, and two zucchinis — all for under $ 3! What a deal! Always fresh and delicious. The staff isn’t very personable, but that is okay. They have yummy little pastries at the front too.

I don’t tend to buy all my groceries here but it’s an awesome market to pick up some fruit and veggies for the week. Today I got a box of strawberries the size of my palm for just $ 2.99 — taste great, and are in great shape(unlike Safeway, Andronico’s, or TJ’s), some acorn squash and zucchini for dinner, some fruits and mandarins, and a loaf of Cinderella Bakery rye bread. My total was under $ 15, it is true what they say. Haven’t had bad/moldy produce experience yet but I usually look before I buy. This place reminds me of Russia.

I love this place! They are so cheap and always so kind. Ton of fresh vegetables and a lot of canned foods. If they sold alcohol I would never go anywhere else. Here’s what I bought for 20dollars… even. literally only 20 dollars even: 8 bananas 1 cucumber 2 heads of broccoli spinach cilantro 5 limes 2 red peppers 2 green peppers 1 package of strawberries 1 bag of corn tortillas 1 bag of jasmine rice 1 sweet onion 3 fuji apples 1 pack of blueberries Yeah. They’re that good. I only subtracted one star because I don’t like the way they bag, I usually just bag myself so I don’t get my softer food smashed.
