My friends and I came here for Sunday brunch right when they opened, hoping to get a table. And we did! Zero wait, since we were pretty much the first ones in that day. That has never happened to me in the history of SF brunches. Ever. I ordered the Two Eggs with breakfast sausage, biscuit, and fruit instead of home fries. Standard taste, nothing too mind-blowing or particularly terrible. But that’s probably my fault for ordering something so basic. Presentation was nice and clean, which I appreciated. The food also came out promptly and all at the same time for our group. My friends and I liked the bottomless mimosas, which you could switch to bottomless bellinis or bottomless Bloody Marys whenever. We probably liked this a little too much. Major props to our server for putting up with a pretty belligerent table for a while there. Service was amazing — before we finished a glass, he would come by with a refill, and kept checking up on us throughout the two hours we were there. I would definitely come back here, because service was seriously awesome and the fact that there was no wait for Sunday brunch is amazing!

Came in from NY, and live near the town Dobbs Ferry in NY, which the resturant is named after so I was extremely eager to eat here. The food was good and the staff was great. Would go again!

I have gave this place 3 tries before writing a review based on my experience because I live 5 steps away. Each time they have messed up my order. I order straight off the menu. There are many nice restaurants in this neighborhood. No wonder I can always get a table. Wait the 30 min to go somewhere else.

This is a nice fancy shmancy place my girlfriend chosen for dinner one Saturday evening. We went here for dinner before we saw Dislcosure at the Bill Graham Auditorium. Literally, it’s two blocks walk from each other. Also this place is probably a 10 – 12 minute walk from Civic center BART. The ambiance. You got your über rich San Franciscans. Literally the table next to us was an elderly couple, the woman wearing a string of pearls and pearl earrings and the old guy wearing a smart blue blazer. I may be making this up but they’re 20-something year old son with ginger hair was wearing a polo shirt and a sweater tied around his shoulders. But then again, there’s my girlfriends and I dining here, just your normal average people. The menu is pretty short and concise, 2 pages, a left page and a right page. Appetizers, meat, pasta, and can’t remember but refer to via picture of the menu I took. I ordered the Chicken pâté for an appetizer. Pretty consistent. I love Pâté, if you already didn’t know. Creamy and livery tasting with crostini and a figgy fruit jam. My girlfriends and I all ordered some carbs for the main entrée. Some pahhstahh in anticipation for the nights drinking antics, i.e. Disclosure, Temple nightclub, then last stop of the night 111 Minna. The girls pre-gamed on a Moscow mule and some fruity cocktail while we ate our dinner as well. Now, Back to the pasta. I ordered the tagliatelle. Interesting blend of flavors; A creamy thin consistency with a hint of lemon and that in combination with the clams and bits of thick bacon. It’s a little oceany like seaweed and lemony but with the bacon thrown in the mix it a little freaky and made it creamy and salty. My mouth was surprised.

Dobbs Ferry is a place not to be missed. Great hearty salads and beautifully prepared food that allows your pallet to savor every flavor in your dish. They are currently serving deserts carrying the name of our recently passed icon, Prince; Purple Rain, Little Red Corvette, When Doves Cry to name a few. Come experience the Westchester vibe here in San Francisco, Dobbs Ferry is not to be missed.

We just did a private event here and it was great! The staff, food, atmosphere were terrific. The general manager went above and beyond to make our event smooth and anticipate every need. Highly recommend this place!

Going out of my way to rate this place because a Saturday in the city for breakfast and no wait is unheard of. I was surprised this place didn’t have more of a wait because of how quality it was. 4 stars for breakfast– not the price, but hey rating purely on quality. They have unique dishes for vegetarians and meat eaters. Mushroom Hash was simple but delicious Breakfast Burrito was a huge, not too special. Great Bloody Mary

Went here as a group of nine on a Saturday night to celebrate a birthday! We had a reservation and upon arrival our table by the front window was ready. As we trickled in were greeted by Tony our server and he took our drink and appetizer orders. We had a sampling of appetizers at the table including broccolini, octopus, cured salmon, arancini, chips and dip, and cauliflower. Rave reviews on the octopus and broccolini. The cured salmon was my personal favorite. We then moved onto another round of drinks and our entrees. A few of us had the house Cabernet and it was very tasty. For entrees, selections at our table included rigatoni, lasagna, ravioli, chicken scarpariello and the fish. One person wanted to order the pappardelle but they were out of it. I ordered the special along with one other person at our table, which was a 10oz ribeye served with duck fat fries and foie gras butter. I ordered the steak medium, which it was. Cooked perfectly! However, I left almost a third of the steak on the plate because it was pure fat. So really of that 10oz steak only 6−7oz was edible. The duck fat fries were interesting I liked them, but they have a unique flavor that is not for everyone. My husband strongly disliked them. As for the foie gras butter, it was a good pairing with the steak. Again, an interesting flavor that may not be for everyone. But, when in Rome do as the Romans do! Overall I enjoyed the dish. Now let’s take a second to discuss the fish. The menu distinctively states the dish has«ocean trout». When this dish was served there was a debate going on as to whether the fish was trouble salmon. It looked and tasted like salmon to all that tried it. When we questioned our server he said it was«steelhead trout», which when Googled did prove that it was a very close relative to the salmon. However, the trout we were expecting was more like rainbow trout(you know, the standard white fish). The person that ordered this was extremely disappointed by this. For dessert we ordered the Ricky road sundae, which to me tasted like chocolate milk and cereal. We also had the cannoli and the cheesecake parfait. I had a taste of each and the cannoli was my favorite. My least favorite was the cheesecake parfait. Loss of two stars for the disappointing fish entrée. The service was good. Everyone left happy and full.

Restaurant week might just be my favorite time of year. My roommate wanted to do a roomie dinner and she chose Dobbs Ferry Restaurant. I had never been to the restaurant portion of this place, only the bar(which also happens to be one of the two designated badger bars in SF) so I was very excited to give it a try. It was $ 40 for three courses. There were too many good options I was a little overwhelmed. BUT we ended up all choosing different items so we could all share. I ordered the Caesar Salad, the Fried Pumpkin and the Steak. I also decided to add the wine pairing($ 17) — Happy Sunday to me! FOOD: CAESARSALAD — cut up romaine lettuce, delicious croutons and caesar dressing… not the best caesar salad i’ve ever had but it was good. FRIEDPUMPKIN — holy goat cheese! this was delicious. it was a fried pumpkin ring type thing with salad in the middle and pomegranate seeds on it with goat cheese somewhere in the middle. wow so good BEEFSKEWERS — so tender so juicy so delicious STEAK — Ordered it medium and it was perrrrrfect. mashed potatoes and mushrooms with sliced pieces of steak(love when restaurants slice the steak too) SHORTRIBPAPPARDELLE — the meat was so flavorful and the pasta was layers on layers of yumminess. (My other roommate ordered the scallops, which I didn’t try because I don’t like shellfish but she said it was the best she’s ever had!) DRINKS: FIRSTGLASS — Prosecco — paired nicely with salad SECONDGLASS — Some type of white wine which I loved(our server forgot to bring it out but once I reminded him he was very nice about it and brought the next wine for the next course with it so he wouldn’t forget…) THIRDGLASS — THISWINEWASINCREDIBLE. Il Molino de Grace ‘Il Volano Sangiovese Blend 2011. So velvety and smooth and perfect with the steak. DESSERT: CANNOLI — banana filling, peanut butter milk, what more could you want? Actually a little chocolate would have made it better but still delicious Overall, great spot! The service was great(my friend broke 2 glasses while we were there and they were all very kind)

Came in on a Sunday night with a large party and they were able to seat us briefly. Cozy interior with pretty windows looking out onto white twinkly trees. The service was very snooty here. The waiter had plenty of attitude and told us to wait as we were ordering so he would have time to write down what we said. We started out with several appetizers — one of which was the clearly mislabeled ‘fondue.’ We received instead fried pumpkin bites on a plate with the faintest hint of a white sauce drizzling the bottom. We asked for clarification, thinking they must have brought the wrong dish, but they said that was their interpretation of fondue. Well, then the menu should say«fondue» in quotes or the waiter should let you know that their interpretation is different than what most would expect of traditional fondue. The entrees were certainly better. The pork shoulder gnocchi was a hit — light and creamy with just a delicate light sauce rather than a traditional heavy meat sauce. After dinner the waiter returned several times to look at the bill, never clearing plates or picking up the actual bill and taking it away.

Great meal and service. The burrata appetizer was really good! We were surprised it didn’t come with any kind of bread but we asked for some and were able to get crostinis which were the perfect complement. The squid ink tagliatelle was also really good.

Let me start by saying I am on diet and try not to eat out or crazy! But my finance wanted to stop in to catch the Warriors game real quick so we dropped in. Just stepping in foot first, we’re already greeted like we were Stephen and Ayesia Curry. Great customer service. EVANS our bartender was knowledgable and super friendly. VINCE the manager came over to say hi and even suggested some items off the menu which we tried. Short Ribs and Chicken Scarbarillo(hopefully spelled right). To die for. I’ll eat both anytime of the day. Normally a rest is only good for the food Or the service but Dobbs Ferry is good For both! One of my new fav restaurants! Coming back for my Fiancé’s bday in Jan.

More like a 3.5 but I’m feeling generous. Once you accept the higher SF prices, it’s not actually too bad. The appetizer of pâté and figs were great! Quite a generous portion for $ 10, we couldn’t finish all the pâté, would be good for 3 people. The addition of figs on the pâté is actually quite ingenious. I would never have thought to do that! Really rounded out the taste of the salty pâté, on the salty toast with the sweetness of the figs. My appetizer of mushroom ravioli was decent, nothing out of this world. A slight step above my favorite truffle ravioli from TJs, but the portion again was quite more that I was expecting so I appreciated it. Service was great, ambiance was ok. I might come back, but wouldn’t go out of my way, when its just average Italian food for the most part.

Thankfully Chez Maman next door was packed so we were able to stumble into this gem. From the minute we stepped in the staff was friendly and we were seated right away. Our waiter John was very attentive and even noticed we were going to the Opera so he made it a point to get us in an out as to not miss our show. We started with the goat cheese fondu with crusted pumpkin — it was even better than I expected! For our main course I had the seared red rock fish and my bf had the brown sugar brined pork loin. Now I’m not a big pool eater, but that pork loin was one of the best I’ve had — just the right amount of saltiness. We had to skip out on dessert as to not miss the show but the 4 signature drinks we had were worth the price(definitely gave a nice buzz). The pictures make the portions seem small, but believe me they’re comfortably filling. Can’t wait to come back again; as John told us, the menu is always changing which is nice to try new seasonal dishes.

The food was good here, but the portions are on the smaller side for the price that you’re paying. They do have one of my favorite beers which I don’t always find at other bars — Goose Island Matilda! If you’re looking for a low key bar to watch your game, this is your place.

Stumbled upon this place after a killer Core40 workout and was not disappointed! We started with the bottomless mimosas and bloody marys. We shared the lemon ricotta pancakes which were delish– fluffy with just the right amount of sweet. I got the Pastrami Benedict and subbed salad for potatoes. The dish was a bit salty and the salad a bit soggy(overdressed) but the flavors were on point! I loved the buttered sauerkraut and hot cherry peppers adorned in between the eggs and meat. Solid joint for a solid brunch! I would come back to try more things off the menu.

Came here for brunch last weekend and it was amazing. I didn’t expecting it to be either. First of all — bottomless mimosas, bellinis, or bloody mary’s. They’re pretty quick on the refills so drink up! Brunch items such as the biscuits benedict are delicious, but their lunch items are even more enticing. I got the chicken fried burger and it was as amazing as it sounds. The pickles and bbq sauce really enhanced the fried-ness of the burger. Yum. The fried chicken sando was pretty delicious as well, but definitely loses to the fried burger. Only complaint is that the burger and sando came with chips and I wish I knew that beforehand since we already got chips and dip to start with. I would wanted to sub with fries or salad or something.

Good food, good Décor, good service. Brunch is calling and you should answer. (Drinks): Coffee — it was nice to see a restaurant not skimp on high quality coffee. Many restaurants cut this corner ad there is no excuse in San Francisco. Devils old fashioned — the description sounded better than the drink. It wasn’t overall bad, just have had better. I wish I would’ve tried a different specialty cocktail. I now have a reason to return. (Food): BLT sandwich — hands down the best BLT I have ever eaten. Thick meaty bacon on a soft chibatta style bun with an aioli slaw. AMAZING! Pastrami hash — the best fried crispy potatoes I have ever experienced. Loved it! Chips and dip — house made potato chips on a spinach dip that had Parmesan and other fixin’s. Chocolate brownie dessert — a light, tasted flourless, chocolate brownie that was topped with cholo ate chunks and nuts. It came with a side of whip cream that was hand whipped. Delicious. (Service): The service was good despite the fact that the restaurant was slammed the minute the doors opened. Water was consistently refilled and the table was checked in at all the appropriate times. Our server ordered our dessert and shortly came back to let us know that the ice cream machine was not working. We decided to cancel our dessert. A few minutes later he brought out the dessert with whip cream and said it was on the house. I later heard him explain to the manager that it was going to be thrown out otherwise. Great service!

Came here for Easter brunch. No problem making a reservation for 6. Restaurant was busy and probably 80% full. Pretty much their standard«weekend lunch» menu + a lamb special. We ordered the Chips and Dip appetizer, 2 Ham & Biscuits, a Chicken and Bacon waffle benedict, a pastrami hash, a fried chicken sando and a eggs bake. I’m usually big breakfast pig so I didn’t expect my ham & biscuits to fill me up so I ordered a side of breakfast sausage. Turns out the ham & biscuits would have been plenty since it comes with home fries. The ham was soooo good. Nice thick slices with the runny egg, gravy and biscuits was oh so good. I was engrossed with my ham and biscuits that I didn’t sample anyone elses dishes but I don’t hear anything but compliments. One shortfall, my son’s chicken waffle benedict didn’t come with any garnish like home fries so after he finished he was still hungry. So finished off Mom’s pastrami hash. Added strawberry biscuit, donuts and crème caramel desserts. Yes, a true Easter pig out. And great coffee with constant refills and it was a great brunch. Service was friendly and efficient, prices very reasonable. What more could you ask for on an Easter? Maybe a visit from the Easter Bunny???

Came here for dinner with some friends before a ballet performance at the War Memorial. The server was so great and attentive to us — he started our service by asking if we were watching any shows that night(ballet, musical, concert) do that he could pace the meal to make sure we were on time. With a 6:30 reservation and 8:30 show, there was more than enough time to enjoy our meal. Here’s what we ate: 1. Burrata — di stefano burrito, roasted mushrooms, parsley pesto, pine nuts, rocket arugula and toasted breadcrumbs — the burrata was beautifully delicious, but I felt that the pepperiness of the arugula overpowered the creaminess and softness of the cheese. 2. Brussel sprouts — fried, Parmesan cheese — these were perfectly fried and really tasty… for the first couple bites. They were actually LOADED with salt and were rather overwhelming with saltiness, so it was hard to eat a more than a few bites. 3. Tagliatelle — fresh squid ink pasta, mussels, calamari and prawns, pepperoncini, extra virgin olive oil and herbs — ordered by one of my friends. She absolutely loved it! 4. Ravioli — roasted eggplant and goat cheese stuffed egg past with braised leeks, eggplant, pecorino and herbs in marinara — my other friend ordered this and said the flavoring was really nice. 5. Salmon — griddles Purefish salmon, flageolet beans, pearl onions, broccoli di ciccio, lemon, chives and whipped pork lardo — this was my dish and it was absolutely PERFECT. The salmon skin was wonderfully crispy with an actual crunch while the meat itself LITERALLY melted in my mouth! I couldn’t stop eating it… I’m still drooling over these… I had a glass of something sparkling to pair with my salmon, as recommended by our waiter. I would not normally order sparkling, but went with the recommendation and it was wonderful. Overall, the entrees were better than the apps and the service was fantastic! I’ll be sure to keep this on my list next time I’m in the city for a show :)
