This has got to be one of the best restaurants in the city. We have always had a fantastic meal — with great service and a great price. LOVE Curbside!

We had a late lunch and had soup and two glasses of wine. Both the French Onion and basil tomato soups. Very very yummy. And the wine selection is also nice.

Came here for Christmas dinner a small tight packed space usually doesn’t get this much business. Service is patient and helpful though not refined. The wine selection is limited. Bread is delicious, comes with butter packages, salmon has large portions :), lobster bisque soup is decent, and a decent salad as well. Not dining with finesse, but good for a dinner. Usually doesn’t require reservations, but do reserve on holidays! This is a cozy space a bit small.

I haven’t been here in such a long time. So I thought I’d treat my husband here for dinner. I usually get my usual, the chicken, shiitake mushroom risotto, but tonight I was a bit disappointed. The rice was very dry and hard. A bit over cooked. I also ordered some tea which came in a pot of water. My husband and I thought we would share the chocolate mouse for dessert, but I remember reading another Unilocal review that she ordered the chocolate mousse and it tasted more like watery chocolate pudding and I hate to say it but I agree with her. I also asked for a refill of hot water for my tea pot and the water tasted awful. I don’t know what it was, but it really had an awful horrible taste. I could not drink it. I’m not sure I’ll come back ax often as I used to, but I do enjoy how quaint and intimate the place is.

I’ve dined at this café twice for brunch, and was very happy with the food and service both times. Everyone in my family enjoyed their entrée selections and were pleased with the lattes and juices they ordered. On top of the great food, our servers were attentive and kind. They welcomed our groups in both days and seated us immediately, which is a very refreshing change from nearby restaurants on Fillmore that are often stressful to get into on weekends. Check out this café next time you’re in the area looking for a quaint and delicious brunch spot!

The baked French toast were very good. My wife got the Crab Benedict and liked it. Cozy place, no wait. Server Louie was a good dude. Enjoyed it!

This is the most adorable and delicious place! We came here for breakfast on a Sunday afternoon, and Louis was a phenomenal host. Very kind, attentive, and genuine. The décor very much reminded me of the restaurants I went to during my brief visit to Paris. That and the French Onion Soup! One bite of that and I melted to the floor, memories of Paris flooding back. It was absolutely fantastic. Our breakfast consisted of delicious Avocado and Crab Benedict, both savory with each bite. I was still pretty hung up on that sexy French Onion Soup, though. Definitely will come here again!

I came here for the first time on a Tuesday morning with my parents who were visiting from Colorado. There weren’t many other people there, and we were able to sit outside which was very nice. My parents got the home made granola with yogurt and fruit, while I got the bourbon french toast. My french toast was amazing, I have never had anything like it before! I think it was made out of Dutch Crunch bread(which I love) and it was not very eggy or mushy like many french toasts are. It was very crispy and light. I tried some of the granola and yogurt, also delicious and piled high with fresh fruit. The coffee was also very good. Overall a wonderful breakfast and the prices weren’t as crazy as I was expecting. Pretty reasonable for the area and the quality of the food/service. Will definitely be back for breakfast, as well as to try their lunch items.

I had dinner with my friends there, and the feeling was mutual: not good food. My friends’ salmon was very hard, and my chicken worse than the one i buy to eat at home. The waiter was not nice at all, either. Was not expecting such a bad overall experience

Curbside is a hidden gem in Pac Heights. Great service, delicious food, and you literally feel as if you’re in a little French bistro. I had the streak & fries, my friend had the burger, and we each had a glass of rosé. We both loved our food and can’t wait to come back. YUM! It also doesn’t break the bank. We ended up spending $ 32 each after tip. I’m booking my next reservation now!

Cool little place I stopped at for a drink, seating out side was a little tight. Didn’t have time to try any of the food but the French beer I had was pretty refreshing.

This is a tiny little spot in Pac Heights dubbed French/American, but there wasn’t anything French about this place other than the Eiffel Tower in their logo and some paraphernalia in the restaurant, like their chalkboard. For example, this is what the menu(partial) has on their website today as options for dinner(and these were the options available when we dined there): Chicken Picatta, Chicken Penne, Pot Roast, Chicken Risotto, and Indian Chicken Curry. Yes, that’s right. Those are some of the options on the menu. Now, tell me whether or not any of that looks French. I had the pot roast with mashed potatoes and boiled/steamed vegetables. The meat was a little dry/overcooked and the presentation was something similar to what might be served in a hospital cafeteria. I didn’t expect much for an $ 18 entrée and the flavors were between slightly bland and just all right. My husband had the chicken risotto, and when I asked him where the chicken was, it appeared to be chopped up and incorporated into the rice. He, too, found the dish to be bland and took a few bites before giving up completely. I wouldn’t recommend dining here, unless you just can’t get into any other restaurant. I’m actually surprised that these guys can stay in business with the quality of the food and the price point they charge, but hey, it seems some people actually like eating here. All I can say is different strokes for different folks. Just don’t expect anything remotely French, unless you eat chalkboards.

I tried this place because it was close by and convenient — many other places hadn’t opened up on a Tuesday around 11:30AM. I tried the huevos rancheros which came loaded with beans. I liked the«ranchero sauce» but I added a lot of cholula sauce to give my meal a bit more kick. Overall, it’s an okay place. Nothing special but decent food in the area at an expected price.

First of all, the food here is great, solid French favorites done well. The ambience is great for everything from dates to ladies lunch, and the outdoor area is a charming place to spend an hour watching the city go by. More than that, the guy who runs this place is a pretty awesome human. I brought my baby here for one of her first meals out and I was so nervous, but they treated us like old friends and valued customers. My baby is now a year old(so this review is shamefully overdue), but I still remember that day. Since then, we have yet to be treated so well in a nice eating establishment. Thank you Curbside Café, for being awesome.

I love curbside café. When my friends lived in San Francisco, it was a mandatory pitstop. Although it is a sweet little French bistro, I ordered the Chillicias and a Bloody Mary every time. Both are delicious!!! Like most places in SF, it is very cozy and on the smaller side. However, the service is excellent and it’s a really fun place to go if you want a «locals» experience. Plus the muni goes straight to it.

French twist. Space is still as small and charming just like any Parisian café should be. Service is still as friendly and welcoming as before. Only instead of a French classic the recommended dish an Indian curry for dinner. One with chicken breast, squash, and zucchini on top of basmati rice. It was a bit spicy but also more than a bit flavorful. Impressed by the quantity of each ingredient. Sometimes rice can be overpowering. Not here. Even took my request of light oil and butter back to the kitchen. End result did have a curry richness but didn’t taste nearly as heavy as most curries. Besides one should save calories for the exceptional bread pudding. Two huge slices of bourbon, cinnamon and brown sugar goodness topped with caramel. $ 7. It was another delicious recommendation. $ 23 for the pair plus tax/tip felt just right. Four stars. No arm twisting needed.

I’m not quite clear on what exactly is «French» about this place but I can say it’s a decent brunch option in the Fillmore/California area. Inside it’s very small and very cozy, maybe 12 tables that could be moved together for bigger groups. The food did not blow me away — Scrambled w/spinach and tomatoes($ 10) as well as Eggs Benedict($ 11) delivered what the menu promised. Good portion size definitely. Service was also quick — they even took our check without us having finished to split up the bill.

Fun place for lunch. Outstanding service from the single verrry-French waiter. Attractive décor. Cramped tables and chairs, without any discomfort. See photos below. I had the trout dinner special with rice and veggies. Rice was dry and tasteless. Veggies were not much better. Trout was perfect, covered with tomato sauce and capers. Bread is exceptionally delicious, with perfect texture, from Bakers of Paris. Next time I’ll have the salmon sandwich. My wife had trout salad, and says it was excellent. Our companion had a crab omelet and loved it. When you are in Curbside you are in Paris, so enjoy and savor the experience.

Great brunch location. The crab Benedict was so great — wow. Loose lump crab meat no breading — yep! Great! Fresh squeezed orange juice was a bonus too! Reasonable prices! A small and intimate place. A great for the morning after breakfast! ;-) I went, you should go too!

An impeccably made, moist yet«bien cuit» crab, mushroom, scallion and Jack cheese omelette, this is Sunday brunch at its best. My little boy had the pancakes with sliced bananas and warm syrup; we shared my French bread toast(did I have a choice?) Very cozy(read small– more than 4 parties of four will nearly fill this 20-restaurant, 4 café tables outside for additional seating). Curbside Café uses every square inch of space that we city dwellers admire: a wire rack near the kitchen holds bottles in various states of empty for wines-by-the– glass; a propped up area over a banquette holds the credit card machine). I liked brunch so much that I returned twice the following month and had their smoked salmon/ricotta/caper omelette both times and it was delicious. Then, I returned for a proper lunch that truly wow’d me: Sensational French onion soup and the grilled salmon salad that featured a generous and perfectly cooked salmon filet laid on a bed of interesting greens, sliced apples and tomatoes. Had I known the salad was so hearty I wouldn’t have ordered the French onion soup– but I got to finally try it after years of wondering what Curbside’s would taste like and here again, it was truly delicious. Given its good-sized menu and even at peak brunch time, Curbside’s kitchen flawlessly speeds out piping hot plates with seeming ease. You know they know what they’re doing in that kitchen for that level of excellence in what must undoubtedly be a very tiny space. Curbside Café is a restaurant that’s been around for as many or more years that I’ve lived here. I went a few times in the mid-‘90s then it fell off my radar for a few years; I’m very glad I «rediscovered» it and am becoming a regular.
