A nice sunny spot for a Sunday brunch. The menu has a lot of standard French(or Americanized French?) breakfast and lunch dishes, plus some American standbys like a burger. The food was good, but nothing special. The staff were friendly and didn’t hurry us.

We had some real good time here, too bad the food was not as enjoyable as the discussion we had with the manager of the store! :) What we liked: — This French bistro ambiance that reminded us of the south of France! — Excellent service and very nice waiters !! We also really enjoyed the great and fun discussion we had with the manager Robert! Really nice guy :) — The seating area: Indoor and outdoor heated area, sweet and cosy in the current San Franciscan winterish weather. What needs improvement: — The FOOD!!!(Did I say it loud enough ?! ;). Really, for a French Bistro, we were disappointed by the food quality and taste. Let me explain more: * The bread and butter: tasteless * The ice tea: I tasted water rather than ice tea * The steak & frittes: great steak sauce(au poivre), though the steak meat was not. The French fries were ok(cold thought) I really hope this restaurant can revamp its«cuisine»… and start offering spirits like the Pastis.

Really very good. Can’t wait to go back. Dined al fresco under the heaters. Service was slow which was just fine. Waiter was excellent.

Just wanted a quick bite, waiting to check in at my hotel… Ordered the chicken breast sandwich with a side salad, should have gone to Subway! The chicken breast was so thin, thank goodness the roll it was on was sufficient. Don’t understand the popularity of this place.

This place is very underrated! Cute, quaint, little and charming restaurant that reminds me of dining in Europe. Prices are good, but the food is seriously delightful! We really enjoyed our desserts– the bread pudding and apple tart. Will definitely be back, with friends and family, especially for brunch. Their brunch menu and outdoor seating area are what Sunday morning brunchy mimosa dreams are made of. Highly recommended!

Great French food in a calming wine bar-line environment in Lower Pac Heights and excellent service. Highly recommend.

Awesome brunch here! Walking down Fillmore with my best brunch companion after urban hiking and stumbled on this place. Very cute inside and has outside seating. Outside table was 45 min wait so we opted for sitting inside. Beautiful space! We ordered two jardin omelettes and they were really fresh and light. Came with roasted potatoes and green salad. Great service too! Food was pretty under seasoned though – I had to add quite a bit of salt and pepper to the omelette. The restaurant was also REALLY loud-when we arrived it was fine but then it filled up and I could barely hear the person sitting next to me. Really want to come back and try more dishes!

There’s probably something to be said for a spot when there are nearby brunch spots with lines topping two hours and a place like Chouquet’s finds itself with a wait to speak of. I risked, it, but my intuition came back to bite me a bit and my brunch experience wasn’t much to write home about. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? The service and atmosphere at Chouquet’s a fine, but it’s nothing special. Be advised that the outdoor seating can approach sweltering temps when the actual outdoor temp is anything about 80, but that’s offset by friendly and fast service in addition to the fact that you probably won’t have many of those days anyway. All in all nothing to complain about. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? For the most part, Chouquet’s brunch in particular is priced fairly, with standard dishes like eggs benedict and various omelettes somewhere between $ 12 and $ 15. I instead opted for the Steak Frite, which was a hefty portion but came with a pretty hefty price tag amounting to $ 25 for the dish. That’s a bit high, but again that’s unique to what I ordered versus the status quo here at Chouquet’s. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Like I alluded to early in the review, my dish, and the dishes of those in my party, were nothing special. My steak was fairly plain and a wee bit tough considering I essentially paid $ 25.00 for it, and the fries were actually the highlight of the dish(crispy on the outside soft and flavorful on the inside). My friends didn’t seem blown away by their egg dishes either, and at the end of the day I can kind of see why there wasn’t a line out front. No Stars Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? I’ve had much better brunches than what I experienced at Chouquet’s, and they’re going to need to up their game to compete with the spots that are racking up serious lines on weekend mornings. No Star Granted.

Lovely Saturday brunch bistro with outdoor seating. Eggs Benedict, French Toast, and Goat Cheese Tartlet were all tasty selections without being heavy. Regular coffee was good and so was the cappuccino. I would recommend – French food without the fuss.

The service was slow, but the omelette was tasty as was the cappuccino. I would go back if I was in the neighborhood.

Chouquets has the perfect daytime ambiance, a dozen colorful tables spilling onto the sidewalk, tucked away in a quiet and peaceful corner of Pacific Heights. I happened upon this place by accident one afternoon about two months ago and have been back several times already. A great place for people watching and the wine list by the glass is great. The smoked trout salad alone is worth five stars. The croque madame is good too. The burger is okay, I was hoping for a more serious bun. But the ambiance is great and the service is very friendly. I’ll be back!

Had Chouquet’s catered today at my office using catering service Zesty. Vegetarian sandwich looked nothing like the photo and tasted blegh, with burned toast. Tuna sandwich was reported to be just ‘meh,’ and the chicken sandwich was only passable. Would not recommend this place for catering.

I like sitting outside on this relatively quiet stretch of Fillmore and watching the parade while eating their yummy food and enjoying French wine. Dog-friendly.

I’m shocked at the favorable reviews I see. Fact: my daughter ordered onion soup. After eating SEVERAL bites, she uncovered a mouse or a rat in her soup. Fact: neither she or I could eat out again for about a month without feeling nauseous. Fact: restaurant owner did call that evening to apologize. We called the health department the next day. They called us back six days later saying they had just inspected the restaurant and closed them down immediately to clean up. Good luck.

The bf and I came here for Sunday brunch because there was no wait. We should have ordered more of their traditional French food but instead ordered an omelette that was kinda bland. The croque Monsieur however was delicious.

Food is ok. Not great not bad. The reason for the 1 star is the chef. He is a loud, obnoxious man who yells and has no respect for the neighborhood. He smokes on peoples porches and is rude to the neighborhood. If you’re not from the area, maybe it doesn’t matter. But if you are an SF citizen, with respect for the community, you would be more than taken aback from his actions.

Came here with one of my friends for brunch. I had made reservations via OpenTable to eat here. She was coming from the South Bay and was running late with traffic. I called the restaurant and they said no problem. When we got there, the hostess/waiter looked grumpy and said«I waited for as long as I could and gave your table away.» Really? you couldn’t wait 20 minutes, especially when I am a long running VIP on OpenTable? We had to wait another 15 minutes for a table open up, and it wasn’t outside as I had requested. Double fail. On to the food and service. It took forever for our waiter to come back to take our order. Once it came, they forgot a few things, and I had to flag them down to get it a few times. Annoying. They also never came to check on us during the meal. The meal itself was okay, but nothing memorable. I then had to flag them down to get the check and again to pay. When we left we got no thank you or good bye? Really, is this what happens restaurants in Pacific Heights? Sad. Unilocalers, don’t waste your time here. Not worth. Go to the Grove instead. Peace.

I’ve driven past this restaurant many times on Fillmore, and finally today, on a whim, we decided to walk in, without Unilocaling. This place reminds me of those little French cafes around the different arrondisments in Paris that serve their locals, not the tourist traps. Small, quaint, authentic. The chef speaks French for Christ’s sake! While that is not always an indicator of good French food, this one is. We Ordered: Escargots: Baked in a sweet garlic medley, atop a puff pastry. I couldn’t help but sweep up the remaining drizzled and sauce with their breads even though the escargots were inhaled. French Onion Soup: Perfectly portioned, dark flavorful onion soup. Lamb Shank: Tender, falls off at the knife. The potatoes were melt in your mouth. Saumon a La Parisienne: I’m a bit of a salmon snob, and this dish hit every criteria of a good salmon dish. Perfectly pan seared salmon, atop a delicious leek fondue with grilled asparagus. Truly a Parisienne staple! Every dish was perfectly flavorful, and satisfied our hankering for the real deal French Food. I’m yet again surprised to stumble upon a great eating spot that gets 3 stars. We’ll be back for sure. Can’t wait for our dessert to come out!

No wait during prime time weekend brunch hours — should’ve taken this as a red flag, but we were in a rush and had limited options! I had the smoked salmon benedict, and asked for the hollandaise on the side. It was super thick and the benedict itself wasn’t anything special. The eggs were overcooked and I didn’t get the beautiful oozy yolk that I love about benedicts! The salad that it came with was also pretty bare bones. My sister had an omelette with potatoes, and said everything was bland bland bland. Fancy name for a disappointing meal :(

This is a fantastic place for brunch on a sunny day in SF. No lines, no fuss. One could sit outside and sunbath while sipping a glass of mimosa. The food comes super fast. A little adorable french girl will bring out two glasses of water with hands barely big enough to hold the glasses. The waiters are super friendly and very responsive. Good coffee. Smoked trout salad was delicious. The fish is not too salty. The fingling potatoes were light. Great start to a weekend.
