Really bland food. The«chopped salad» looked like a bagged salad kit bought from a grocery store thrown in a bowl. The sandwich was mediocre. Wont be back :/.

Had the chorizo breakfast burrito here. No real flavor and it was mostly burrito. Crave, you could have at least had more actual food inside the burrito. Eggs are not expensive. A tip for this place: don’t skimp if you’re going to charge top dollar for a run of the mill breakfast item. Definitely not worth my bill total of $ 11. One of the only sub 3.5 star places on this part of Polk for a reason. Surprised it’s lasted this long.

Had a good waffle here, with service that was not very enthusiastic, but not bad either.

I came here on a Sunday morning for a quick breakfast. I had a breakfast burrito. It was very average. I would rate this place a 4, but I felt like the staff was not friendly or welcoming. I tried multiple times to make conversation but the two people working were not having it. In addition, I think this place is a bit overpriced in the food amount/dollar. The burrito I had was pretty small, but priced as an average-priced burrito(9 – 10 bucks). However, I heard from a neighbor that they loving coming here to work. It is never crowded and is a quite spot with great WiFi.

Not a message on the food but rather the service. I live on the street and was walking home and saw the manager of the restaurant chase an old Asian man down the street and scream at him in the middle of Polk for peeing on the toilet seat in his restaurant. Where he really crossed the line is that he physically pushed the Asian man multiple times. It was clearly an effort to physically intimidate this man. Sure maybe it’s rude to pee all over the seat in a restaurant but the manager is overreacting a tremendous amount. Thought it was incredibly alarming and in appropriate. Giving the manager the benefit of the doubt that he was just caught on a bad day and he’s not normally like that. That being said I will never eat or drink here again and will tell all my friends the same. Really disgusted by this.

I come here all the time, bud sadly, I really can’t bring my business here anymore. There’s a guy who’s usually at the counter, and when he’s working, everything is great. There’s some new staff– a young girl and guy and when they work my order is consistently wrong. I order directly off the menu– this shouldn’t be an issue. This last time we asked for a refund bc after 2x, they couldn’t get it right– manager came out and made excuses. Bye crave, I hope you get your stuff together.

Don’t come here. There are too many places in the vicinity that are better. Had the Mac and cheese and it was dry and bland, aside from the truffle oil that was not disclosed on the menu. I won’t eat here again.

The Got the Beet salad here is amazing. Best beet salad I’ve ever had, and I am sort of a connoisseur(*I had to Google that to spell it) of beets, if you will. Here they pickle the onions and beets(delicious), and add some candied nuts and generous amounts of cheese to the fresh greens. Great dressing also. I’m getting hungry just writing this. I always find the counter staff friendly and they definitely make a kick-ass, large salad. I come here often and will continue to come as long as they have the best big salad in the ‘hood.

This place isn’t anything fancy to look at, but it’s unpretentious, has tables outside, and the food is really good. The Got the Beet salad is delicious and affordable. I think the dressing must be made of crack. It’s so good that if my husband made me choose between him and the salad, I might choose the salad.

I went in to get a quick bite on a Sunday night. They were closing but the guy said he could take my order. I asked for the pork BBQ sandwich but no bread, as I am intolerant. I then asked for a larger helping because I have been there before and know they don’t serve much meat on the plate when there is no bread. The regular sandwich is $ 9 and I was charged $ 18 for only a bit of extra meat(definitely not a second portion). I get it since I asked for extra but even with the extra meat it was about the same amount one would get for a single portion somewhere else. I know I could have complained in person but I think I was overcharged for what I actually got. And the kicker is that they were closing. I was doing them a favor by eating their kinda dry pork bbq that they would have either had to throw out.

We made the amateur mistake of attempting to get into Nick’s Taco Tuesday on the night of a World Series game. Needless to say, we were relegated to Crave after waiting around for 15 minutes. It was entirely empty for dinner, which is unsurprising because it looks more like a lunch spot. I’m not a fan for one reason: Crave simply serves bad food. I got the Blue Smoke($ 8.50) sandwich, which is pulled pork on focaccia. At least focaccia and barbecue sauce can save the day, right? Unfortunately, the pork was so dry and clumpy that I felt like I was eating a refrigerated-and-reheated sandwich out of a middle school cafeteria. The portion size is nothing to brag about for $ 9. My friend was equally(or even more) disappointed by her Huervos Rancheros($ 9.75), which looked like someone cooked two eggs and spilled some sauce on accident. She actually ended up eating a second meal afterwards because the food was so lackluster. The one redeeming factor is that Crave serves breakfast all day. I should have known this was a bad idea when I saw the Comic Sans menu.

I came here for lunch. For being a Sunday, it wasn’t packed like other places — there were plenty of tables available. You order first at the counter and get a number. I was in the mood for a breakfast sammie, so I ordered an egg sandwich with the low fat cheddar and a sausage patty and the whole grain bread — sounds healthy! I was given a number and went to our table. My sammie took a while to get to me — I can’t imagine it took that long to make. And there hadn’t been any people in front of me, so it couldn’t be that my order got backed up. And there weren’t very many people eating inside the restaurant, so I find it hard to believe that they couldn’t find me at my table, with my number visible. Anyway, my sandwich finally came and it tasted good! I got my whole grains and my protein. It wasn’t like super amazing, but it tasted good and filled me up. I liked that there wasn’t much of a wait, but this place didn’t wow me.

Awesomeeeeee breakfast sandwiches! The basic light is my favorite: egg whites and reduced-fat cheddar on a fresh wholegrain sandwich thin. It’s filling but doesn’t make you feel sluggish like some greasy breakfast sandwiches do.(Who wants to nurse a food baby at 9 in the morning?) On the other hand, for times that you want to indulge, try the breakfast burrito. By default it is filled with delicious chorizo, but you can switch it up and get pork, bacon, or black beans instead. Wash it all down with a delicious Ritual iced coffee :) The service is super fast, and I like to duck in here when I’m on the go– you can be in and out in 5 minutes. Great option for Polk Street breakfast!

Lamb shawarma was out of this world. You can tell they use quality ingredients and take their time to prepare your meal. It was almost too much time to prepare a meal. We ordered a beet salad and shawarma. It took the kitchen 30 minutes on a slow Saturday afternoon to get the food to our table(slow on a Saturday afternoon is bad news in itself). The staff also forgot to get me the IPA I ordered, which was really disappointing considering you should hand someone the beer they just ordered, so they can enjoy it while they wait 30 minutes for their food to come out. If you aren’t in a rush and want to enjoy an afternoon on polk street, this is a place to check out. The couple we ate with got the tofu ban mi and Reuben sandwich. I’d much rather get a Reuben from Boys Deli or Millers. The Ban Mi looked like a decent vegetarian option.

Our hotel was pretty close by and we came here after realizing that other places in the area did not open until 11. Instead of waiting around for a half hour, we popped in here. They make a very very solid sausage egg and cheese and provide a variety of options. You can choose different varieties of bacon, sausage, bread, number of eggs, anything you could really want after a long night and an early morning and they’ll make it. The orange juice is really good too. Service is pretty quick and easy as this is a ‘take your number flag and sit down’ type of place.

Sandwich with a side of MAJOR attitude is definitely not what I wanted for lunch. Ordered the ‘Morocco Your World’, which had hummus, spinach, carrots, eggplant, cucumber and green olives on a wheat pita. Not sure if it was the olives or the hummus, but something was salty as hell! Only had one tiny piece of eggplant as well. Us veggies gotta have something filling to eat. Ate it all cuz I was hungry, but probably won’t be rushing back anytime soon.

I can only speak for the Cobb salad, which was one of the best(and biggest) salads I’ve ever had! I actually passed by Crave, saw a man sitting outside with his dog enjoying this salad, turned around, went in and asked the guy at the register which salad he was eating! Yes, it looked THAT good. Once you order, it’s self seating and self gathering of water, utensils, and napkins. I prefer this at casual places since you don’t have to ask. The salad tasted just as good as it looked! All the ingredients seemed very fresh and not only for my salad — I looked around at what other people were eating and everything looked good! :) I will definitely be back to try some more! Note: they have free wifi, you just have to ask for the password!

I was promptly greeted by Kelsie. She was so nice and welcoming! I asked her what the most popular sandwiches were and she gave me options including the Blue Smoke, Italian job and nothing cute. Sandwiches range from 8.5 to 9 pre-tax Service: excellent. Warm and welcoming. Ambiance: very casual. I would say it’s more of a grab and go or quick lunch. Food: I got the Blue smoke for some pulled pork action. It was yummy. The pork was little dry, but the cabbage salad helped with that. Focaccia bread was soft and crispy. Warning! The portion was really small! I am 5’2 weigh 90lbs and the sandwich did not fill my tummy– yes I ate breakfast this morning(in case you are wondering). So if you tend to eat a lot you might want to order 2 or go somewhere else lol. Xoxo, Le petite Asiatique

I usually come here Friday mornings once a month for our staff meetings. The food(waffles, breakfast burritos & oatmeal) is great. However the coffee is horrid. I’ve had the hot coffee & iced coffee. They use Ritual coffee, which I’ve had before at other establishments so maybe they aren’t brewing it correctly. Whatever the case may be, I usually have to run to Starbucks or Peetes after our meeting to get coffee.
