Saturday: night they do salsa, bachata, and reggae ton type music. The had a live band the night I went which I like when they have love music in general at any venue. Tickets: you can order tickets ahead of time online and if you order early enough there’s supposed to be a 2 for 1 type deal. They check Id at the door since they have a bar and serve alcohol. Inside: quite big it’s like a big warehouse with high ceilings turned into a club. One bar in service. Other bar is empty. Three rooms with one small room upstairs with the stair entrance to the left. The right stair entrance was closed. Some low lounge type cushioned chairs. This bachata room upstairs is on the small side but honestly you don’t need much room for bachata and the music was super loud in this room. Parking: street park in the sidewalk. Pretty ample since this is an industrial area with a lot of other big warehouses lining the street. Pretty well lit at least. No charge to park along these sidewalks. People: decent amount of people especially the later the night gets like 10:30pm or later. It does seem like people come as a couple or small groups so might not be the best place to come if you’re single but I guess the night is what you make of it if you can mingle among another group. The few single men asked the few single women who clearly came to dance and cycled through. Not a young crowd like 21 but more like late 20’s to 30’s to 40’s. Overall three stars for A ok but not the best wow my dancing feet off venue.

So what’s the story with Club Fuego … more commonly known as Space550 to its resident dancers? If you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out on a wonderful experience. Not only does this venue provide plenty of FREE street parking, it happens to be the largest and most atmospheric San Francisco dance club for Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, and Timba. The largest room provides LIVE music from the best Salsa bands in the bay area, as well as a constant rotation of the best DJs available. The weekend promotions are divided among well-established promoters who know exactly what the dancers want. The end result is a great experience where dancers, musicians and fans become«a symbiotic family»… one for all and all for one. For those who are still wondering where to go after the closure of Café Cocomo … look no further … Space550 is it … This is where«La Familia» resides, y’all!!! Oh yes, regarding the past«issue» with minors getting in … This Has Been Corrected!

This place is fairly new and not too popular so this is what I can say about it. The place opens at 9:30pm. It’s street parking so the earlier you get there the closer you’ll be to the entrance. $ 20 cover charge… to get on the guest list you have to email them with the name of the guests and you’ll only pay $ 15. As you walk in you’ll see a large salsa room full of what looks like a salsa class. This room it’s an older mix crowd. Older as in 35+ — 60+. They do have a live band in this room. Don’t expect to hear top 40 salsa it’s more like Gran Combo, Tito Puente and Buena Vista Social Club. If you want to fit in this room you better know how to dance with a partner and the more turns you do the better. There is only 1 bar across from the main salsa room. Beer is $ 6. No waitress and only a handful of places to sit. Room #2– the merengue room is a tiny room, very dark looks like someone’s garage. 3 – 4 tiny wood benches to sit on and only a small coffee table in the back corner with some seating(this is VIP area). This room didn’t start playing music till 10:30pm. The play merengue, cumbia, salsa, hip hop, reggaeton, reggae, some rock en Español and even banda. The problem is if you spend most your time in this room you’ll like hear the same songs 2 – 3 times cause they change DJs. This room is mostly Latino crowd 25+. Room 3– the bachata room. This room is the smallest like a large living room. It does have windows so you look down into the salsa room. Again, very dark. Bachata all night. Getting to this room is hazard. There’s a stairwell from the merengue room but it’s so dark may sure you hold on to the handrail. The other stairwell is has some light but still after a few drinks and 6 in heels you could easily fall. The bathrooms are clean I didn’t see any drug activity like someone mentioned. There was a group of 3 girls that didn’t look a day over 17 but they were half naked so you know Latino clubs they tend to let to girls who look like that by. Oh single lady warning: there aren’t that many single guys so don’t expect to get asked to dance. Most people bring there own partner.

Came here for my birthday because my sister loves to dance. It’s an older crowd but the atmosphere was great, fun. The staff are whatever seemed kinda rude. If you put name on the guest list its $ 15 for entrance and $ 20 without. The drinks are $ 8 for a small tiny cup BS and not even strong at all. :)

My girlfriend refuses to go to a 1 star club. There’s only been one rating thus far. So voila — an avg of 3 stars.
