Smells great from the outside. I wasn’t even going to have lunch just yet but I was drawn in. My wife had the bulgogi pork, my son had a cheeseburger and I had the sliced beef over rice. Really, not bad for the area. Go there for quick Korean food that hits the spot.

ive been going to city lunch through three different owners, since the late 90s. the latest ownership is doing a good job running it as a korean restaurant. now im not talking mind blowing korean food(you just cant seem to find that in SF anywhere) but for a place right down the street from my work, a hole in the wall in the hood, its a great option. give it a shot, you will be very pleasantly surprised. this area is changing real fast and i can see this newest version of city lunch fitting right in. very happy to see this place doing well. i remember in the late 90s, driving my car in reverse(why not, its the bayview, who the hell is going to stop me) and grabbing a bite. 2014, saturday morning… im happy theres a place i can get some good spicy beef soup!

Great find an unlikely place. Authentic Korean mom and pop restaurant. Very clean and roomy place. Just order Korean dishes you will be happy. $ 10 soup dish comes with rice and side dishes. I just put them all in same bowl for convenience. Plenty to eat. Don’t come here for service just food.

okay update alert, this place has done a 180. They fired all of their original workers or let them all go. The menu has changed, they just put up pretty glossy pictures board up, but the food is wack. I ordered chicken phở to try it out,(its on the menu item). and what i got was chicken noodle soup. some progresso chicken noodle soup shit no kidding… thats was it — Unilocal update review had to be done. so you Walk in there at any given lunch time and really there ain’t nobody around in terms of customers. Drastic difference from the prior environment where the place would be busy with customers. Anywho food has changed a lot and not in any good way. If no one is there at Lunch time, the name of the place has gots to change. City no one here at lunch is more appropriate.

Not a fancy restaurant but just like the taco truck, the food is great for its price. DONOTGETANYCOUNTERCHINESEFOODFROMHERE — The owner is a Korean lady and her staff are Mexican, not very good at cooking Chinese food, plus the food is sitting there since 9am won’t taste good. But their Sandwich and burgers are extremely good for the price. There’s also fusion stuff like Korean Beef Sandwich, you could also get the Korean BBQ with rice. For under 10 it’s a great deal, all these are cooked immediately Mexican food here is not as good as the taco truck but you can sit down and enjoy it. The owner and her staff are very friendly. They accept credit card so it’s a plus. Overall a very nice location to have lunch around this area.

its really close to my work and they accept credit card so its easy. just a block away. a nice lil change from the taco truck. they got some pretty good style fried chicken. for about 6 bucks you can get a full meal. super full for lunch, just making me not wanna work the rest of the day. the service is real nice, sometimes they give free sides, i guess depending on their moods. typical fast food chinese ish food. nothing too much to expect. full and cheap is what we are looking for.

What can i tell you about a greasy spoon that you don’t already know my little thrifty eaters of blue Plate Specials? Well, apparently a bit more. Here we have a little ‘restaurant’ which was on my way home from a bike ride and beckoned me in for a simple afternoon delight of grease, butter and a serious carb over load. However, the funny thing was that when I went in I was surprise to fine 3 types of menus. Mexican, Chinese and American Dinner. And I have to admit, it was quite interesting as the owner/counter person was willing to «mix-it-up» for me. Here is what I had: Chinese coffee = sweet and with enough caffeine to jump start a 57 Chevy Fried mini egg rolls = not too greasy and was full of flavor Rise noodle breakfast = covered with eggs, veggies and spicy sauce I got all of this for around $ 10 which is not bad for being so full I felt like a pregnant transvestite trying to his his/her bike all the way home. Let me just tell you it was not a very pretty sight.
