Ordered the kung pao chicken and the crispy noodle. So good! I’ve been trying to find a place that serves great kung pao chicken and haven’t been able to find one that I really like but this place has it! Our waitress was great too. Very attentive and super nice. Will definitely be coming back!

I was a loyal customer of this place up until I found a piece of metal in my soup. The lady didn’t charge me for soup but that left me very concern. Ever since they got new owner and changed cooks this food doesn’t taste that good. I won’t be coming here again. Soup rice was burned and other items didn’t taste that good. Sorry but I won’t be coming here no more.

Two Words: RIPOFF. Please look at my picture and tell me how this cost me about $ 40 for the«dinner special». This is NOT a dinner for two, this was a dinner for one sad person.

The food here is horrible, nasty, disgusting. It tasted like it was defrosted from the freezer and was absolutely not fresh at all. It is also overpriced. The service was ok hence the one star. I would never come back here. They also changed their name not so long ago probably because their old name had horrible reviews also. Never, ever, ever returning! So disgusting!!!

The Good: Nice little restaurant but definietly not use to being a packed house. The food overall is average with some lone star standouts. The noodles and fresh soy drink are the stars of this place. In reference to the noodles they are the broth based ones and mix yourself style(dan dan mein). Other than these items you can pass on the rest. However the hostess/waitress was very nice and ran service very quickly. The Bad: I can tell it must be a old chef cause all the food is just too salty. He must have had some skill before because overall the flavors were good but masked behind the over seasoning. Do not order anything that is fried on the menu i.e. chicken/general tso etc. You will get soggy and greasy items. Hot and sour items such as soup and asian chicken wings were items that can be passed on. Cannot acheive that balance correctly and became just again another salty dish. Overall i would not be a repeat customer if i wasnt in the area and looking for broth noodles.

I ordered food for delivery. It was just porridge and some dumplings but it took 1.5 hours for delivery. My place is less than a mile from the restaurant close to SFSU. Apparently they were busy serving lunch at 2PM. Really? When the delivery driver got to my place, she called my phone yelling at me because she couldn’t find the place. I gave them the exact address when I ordered so i don’t understand why she couldn’t find it. She finally found the door which is very much visible from the street. She didn’t even apologize for being late and she expected me to tip her more than 20% of my total. Never ordering from this place ever again!

Nice service. Nasty food. It mattered not, since the company I was with was absolutely delightful. Life goes on.

This is my favorite Chinese Restaurant. Peking Duck is very good. They serve with thin wrap instead of steamed bun and this is very hard to find in SF. Their dim sum is also good. After coming this restaurant, we can’t eat dim sum at the other places. Fried Rice(we always order BBQ Pork) is decent, noodles are amazing. i see many of one star is for delivery. They do not have many workers so I do not recommend for the delivery order. Rather, call and pick up. The order is always ready in about 30 min. I think this is a hidden gem in my neighborhood and glad to find here.

If there was a way to put zero stars I would. Ordered take out: Orange spicy chicken, fried rice, fried tofu and spring rolls. Everything was over fried to the point of no taste, blan, or either fried and boiled in MSG. To top it off, everyone got sick afterward. Was not worth the $ 50 and 60+ delivery time wait. Order from somewhere else PLEASE!

If you are not customer then you pay to use restroom. You pay $ 1.00. Oh, the food is cool. I. ordered the Mongolian beef and it sufficed. I think the name of this place has changed now to Gao Café. It always seems dead in this place. Never busy but always open for business. I don’t know, I don’t ask. The portions also seem to be right pin point. The menu is a bit boring though. Apparently they have lunch specials here but I never notice a change in price for what I order. Lame ohhhhh.

Stopped in after a busy day for the first time. Very pleasant waitress, good service. Mustard green pork noodles were reasonably good. Kids were quickly served and we all left happy.

This was my first time at this restaurant. I placed a to go order. The lady at the register was very friendly. She was polite and answer my questions about some of the dishes. I ordered from their lunch specials which were the orange chicken & seafood combo. The food was very good and I enjoyed the fried rice. The prices for the lunch specials are under $ 10.00. If you want fried rice or chow mein instead of white rice you have to pay extra of $ 2.39. I would recommend this establishment to others.

Absolutely horrible experience. I’ve been ordering here for awhile and have no problem but today they lost me as a customer and I will make sure no one I know will go there. Food looked extremely disappointing and my family had food poisoning. Manager from restaurant can care less and denied everything. Horrible customer service. Beware.

I finally made it here, my mother hated this place so I never came but after I did, it was ok. I was craving rice balls really bad(Taiwanese style) they didn’t quite make it well but it was ok. Salty one tastes better then sweet, their Chinese donut was well made, taro milk tea was too sweet and probably powdered. Soy milk as decent but I’m wondering if it was microwaved. Congee was okay, average. I miss Taiwanese food so much but this place is .ho hum. I’ll won’t lie I’ll probably go back again because there’s parking and they have Taiwanese breakfast, if anyone knows a better place in the city(not southbay) please let me know!

Wtf is wrong with their food. Their hot and sour soup made me sick. And the sesame chicken I left in my fridge after less than 2 days it already turned to spoiled rubber. Real chicken doesn’t spoil after 2 days. This place is too shady. Not ordering again.

When my friends would get sick, the go to dish to solve digestive problems was hot and sour soup. Then I lived in Taiwan for a year and discovered congee(rice porridge). Hot and sour still is on the speed dial menu, but anyplace that has good congee wins with me. Disclaimer: I enjoy many dishes, and I’ve been told congee is one of the strangest things to like. As my one friend said«That’s what my mom fixed when we had leftovers! I’m never eating that again!» As I sit here today, the third time I’ve ordered from this restaurant, I can say that this is the best congee near me. Why that qualifier? Because there’s a spot in Chinatown that’s a dual bakery /cafeteria that had the smoothest yet flavorful congee I’ve had since I bought it on the street in Tanzih, north of Taichung. This is a close second, and I imagine if I were to dine in, I’d move it to the top of the list. This place though, if you want legit Taiwanese food and you know what you’re ordering, you’re in luck. Anything not Taiwanese that’s on the menu? It will not meet your expectations. It may surprise you or disappoint, but it will not be what you expect. Just as I don’t go to a Mexican restaurant and expect chicken parmesean to taste like it would at an Italian restaurant, I don’t expect vegetable tempura to taste as it would from a Japanese restaurant. I expect a fusion style result that may or may not be a successful fusion. I suggest asking about items that you may think will be prepared a certain way to help avoid disappointment. I personally enjoy the Russian Roulette ordering method at places I frequent, because life’s too short to eat something that tastes exactly the same for extended periods of time. Delivery has been reliable for me, and for pick up the woman at the counter called to let me know my food was ready, even as I was locking my bike up outside. Definitely worth a try.

So I’ve ordered from this place in the past and remember it being pretty good, so I stupidly ignored all the recent 1 star reviews and ordered dinner. Bad move! The food took 1 hour and 45 min to arrive! When the delivery guy got here he didn’t even bother to ring the bell to get buzzed in. He called my phone and asked me to go outside. Needless to day, I sorely regret tipping online in advance. By the time we got our food, it was cold and seemed like it had been sitting around for an hour or more(of course). We ate it because we were so hungry, but it wasn’t all that good and my stomach now feels a bit queasy :(The boiled dumplings were OK but dry. The fried pancake thing was possibly quite good after it was cooked, but how would I know? By the time I ate it, it was hard and greasy. I decided to skip the chicken wings after one bite since they tasted like they might have a lot of msg, which makes me sick sometimes. My husband thought they were straight up gross. I will never get delivery from Taipei restaurant again.
