Great little spot, wonderful service and solid food. I had the greek salad with lemon juice and olive oil — quite a bit of food. My bf had the burger with egg and bacon and he seemed quite pleased.

This is a little gem of a place I stumbled upon. One of the best grass fed burgers and salads you could find in SF! Beer, wine, coffee, and vegan options too. Family owned. Superb quality of food and excellent service. Outside tables and very clean. The quality of the food and prices are spot on. I love this little place!

I’m only ever here for breakfast on the weekend, but can highly recommend. Omelettes are fantastic, and even with a massive hangover the burger with pineapple is brilliant. Very dog friendly, Nick, Mom & Dad all stop by to hi to the puppy.

I just happened to stop in here and ended up having one of the best burgers I’ve ever had in my life! I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger with salad, not really wanting a burger but needing food in a bad way. It came and looked amazing. Crusty bread bun(less bun and more burger sized yummy bread) with just the perfect amount of fixings. I usually smother my burgers in mustard but this one was so good I forgot all about that until my penultimate bite! In addition, people are SO nice here! Makes you feel good for coming to their restaurant. My new favorite restaurant. Literally.

My husband and I love Café Zazo! The owners always remember us and take time to visit, asking how we’ve been doing. The food is always prepared fresh and is absolutely delicious. Definitely hit this place up for breakfast. Their pancakes are the best! So happy to see that they’ve expanded their hours, too.

They will be open after 6pm starting this week I believe. They also expanded their selection of beer. Let’s just say there is no better selection in the area.

I stumbled upon Café Zazo while wandering around the neighborhood — such a good find! I was planning to just grab a coffee because I was alone and usually feel awkward eating by myself, but once I went in, I immediately felt comfortable sitting at the bar and ordering food. Nick recommended his grass-fed beef burgers with home-made ciabatta that apparently was in the works for 4 years, and you could really taste the difference. The experience made my day and put me in a great mood! This place truly gives you the feeling of being a regular at a comfy, local restaurant. Highly recommend Nick’s Choice burger, and definitely plan to come back with friends! One suggestion is perhaps rebranding on Unilocal as a burger + bar place since it’s so good!

Ladies were SO nice! Omelette was really good. Philly Cheese Steak was delicious too but the bread could be a bit better. Would definitely go back.

Bottom line: Casual neighborhood joint that we wish we all had So this isn’t a culinary experience that will change your life instead it is one of those places that makes you feel at home. I came here for lunch on a weekday so it wasn’t busy. Everyone was good spirited and smiling. I ordered a cheese burger combo with iced tea. The burger was juicy and all ingredients were fresh. The fries were nicely deep fried and salted just right. The iced tea was great! It is their own blend that is a passion peach tea. What a relief to have a drink option that isn’t packed with sugar. There is a great selection of beers on tap. They got you covered from IPAs to wheat beers. You’ll find Racer 5, Arrogant Bastard, and Scrimshaw to name a few. They have seasonal selections as well which I am sure rotate. Enjoy the sunny weather at a street side table with a burger and a beer. There is plenty of seating and a few Tvs. I imagine that this is an ideal spot if you live nearby because you can watch a baseball game and enjoy it with a good beer and friendly staff.

This was my first time eatin here and I love it for so many reasons. First of all this is a family owned and operated business. Second or third generation SF natives with origins in Guatemala. Secondly they let me keep my bike inside after I explained that I wanted to keep an eye on my brand new buy. The two ladies were very sweet and chatty. I can appreciate that they made me feel so welcome especially since I was the only one in the place. Most of all the food is delicious. I got a Judys Favorite which is a Grassfed bacon cheeseburger topped with bbq sauce and onion rings on a toasted ciabbata bun with garlic mayo. Yes. It is as mouth watering as it sounds. Go Check them out NOW!

Phenomenal sandwiches. Fresh, big flavors. Even better beer selection. Outdoor seats. The best part about this place though is the people — they are incredibly nice, and even brought out a small piece of bacon for our dog(without us asking). I can’t say enough good things about this place.

Great customer service. Homemade bread, chips, and crisps. Now they just need a ½ sandwich-soup combo.

The staff here is very nice and they do some things really well. It’s a little pricey for lunch but you get quite a bit of food. I was craving a burger for lunch, which probably only happens twice a year, and decided to give it a try. Their menu advertises, «We use beef and chicken from grass fed, organic sustainable farms via the Golden Gate Meat Company» and burgers are«cooked well done unless requested.» I ordered«Nick’s Favorite» which comes with bacon and a fried egg and specifically requested that it be cooked medium and could not have been any more clear. The burger looked good but was unfortunately cooked well done and the meat was a bit dry. There was not an ounce of pink inside the whole thing. I’d have something else on the menu but probably will never order the burger again. Too much bread that hides a dry patty is not my idea of a great burger. It also came with quite a bit of mayo or perhaps an aioli and it didn’t mention it on the menu. I have had the Philly cheese steak and liked that.

Looking for a new place to try that was within walking distance, I found CZ. Seems to be a cool little café in a bit of a questionable neighborhood(or maybe I should say colorful) — with one table on the patio. Interior was soothing– and a bar to boot! I ordered Nicks Favorite– burger w cheddar and an egg on a ciabatta bun. And fries. The burger was excellent– just a big gooey goodness that doesn’t disappoint– the ciabatta bun was fresh and very soft. Fries were good. It’s an expensive burger at $ 12– but if you’re in the mood to spoil yourself, this is a good burger. I will be back to try another one.

This cute and quiet little spot is located in the Mission, off 14th street right behind Rainbow Grocery. I walked in before work, hoping to grab a quick bite. Unexpectedly, I dined in for one and ordered the chicken pesto sandwich with fries. I was surprised with how delicious it was — chicken was cut pretty thick and wasn’t dry, the sauces and seasonings fit my taste buds perfectly, the bread was soft yet crispy on the edges, and that’s most important part of a great sandwich in my book! TAKENOTE! Their food is cooked well, but what’s even more awesome is their beef and chicken are also grass-fed and organic, locally grown. The sauces are cooked in house, and their water has a pretty excellent filtering process. Good for the environment and good for the soul = everything that matters in a successful restaurant. The service was great — always checked on me, always smiling, very very friendly. It was pretty slow, but the people who did come in we’re regulars, and that’s always a good sign. Awesome reggae music to accompany the chill ambiance. I loved café zazo and whenever I’m in the area this will be one of my first resorts for lunch.

I’ve been riding by Café Zazo on my way to Rainbow for almost 8 years now and never once stopped in. I just figured it was another coffee shop and since I don’t drink coffee nor frequent coffee shops I never gave the place another thought. Then it showed up the Chronicle’s Bargain Bites last year and I finally stopped by a few weeks ago. Super friendly staff and a menu of burgers and all-day breakfast. It would have been overwhelming if I hadn’t noted the Chronicle’s recommendation of the«must-order» Greek omelet. Even with that recommendation I had a hard time. Everything sounded so good! Was the Greek omelet really the right choice? Even when the food came out later I wasn’t sure — it looked so unprepossessing. But that omelet really packed a punch. The egg was perfectly cooked and the filling(spinach, feta, mushrooms, olives) were folded up inside like a crêpe. It kinda reminded me of French cooking — really simple but really well done. I opted for the hand cut potato chips on the side. They were different but not necessarily better than normal chips. I think they could have used more salt. Portions are not that big. Perfect for me not but American-sized. I had such a nice time between the staff and food. I’m not sure if I should even attempt any omelets at home after this because they’ll never compare.

BEST X AARON’S EVERHADAWARDWINNER: homemade potato chips. So why only 4 stars? Because the sandwiches are hit and miss. Hits: — the grilled chicken ones(incl pesto) — the mozzarella one Misses — all too dry: — Cheesesteaks — Zazo burger(bummer, right? they advertise it on the cover of their menu) Anyway, the point is that I could never eat potato chips elsewhere for the rest of my life and be happy. Enjoy!

No complaints here! Varun B. and I came here after our 5K and got seated with no wait. Service: Very friendly waitresses here. Always a smile on their face and eager to help/serve. Food: +Pesto Chicken Sandwich– comes with mixed greens and is perfect; i loved the square pieces of grilled onions thrown in there +Scramble — my friend really enjoyed the entrée +Italian sodas offered here Ambience: Small but spacious seating inside and outside. Large TV screen on one side of the restaurant and a bar on the other. Kind of an isolated little business in the mission though. *Also, there is a $ 2 charge on splitting the bill if you use 2 credit cards which is super lame. I want to try their burgers next time! –Hungry Hungry Pongy
