Labor day weekend… trip to SF amazing dinner and had a great time. Cozy dining and met tourists who were there for the long weekend. Enjoyed our food. Had tortellini with white sauce and Seafood pasta with tomato sauce. It was great.

Food was pretty good, not amazing. I had scrambled eggs, potatoes and chicken sausage. everything was good but eggs weren’t very scrambled. My son loved the French toast, which were very moist and included an orange slice and melon. The service was mediocre. Lady claimed she didn’t have change for my $ 20 and was trying to press me for change. Pretty unprofessional. Overall I give the food 4 stars and service 2 stars

What a nice surprise. French toast is very good. Service was quick. Allowing us to get out and see this beautiful city.

Virginia is an awesome small business owner. Every time we come to the city, we make it a point to stop in to say hello and have breakfast. She is like an extention of our family.

I went to this café for lunch one day. Ordered a burger, the meat was over-cooked unfortunately. I also ordered cereal and milk. While pouring the cereal some fell on the counter, the lady scooped it in her hand before putting it in the bowl… Not going there again.

Ordered the ‘fresh squeezed orange juice’ and it was the kind you buy at the store, you could taste it. I took one sip and asked if I can get something else instead. The women insisted it was fresh squeezed and was lying. So I got a coffee. Fresh fruit bowl(small bowl) is 10 $… Ridiculous.

I ended up at this place because Café GoLo isn’t open on Tuesdays and I was pleasantly surprised. Very nice staff and the French toast is delicious. My friend who came with me is vegan and was disappointed that they don’t have milk alternatives, but overall quite tasty.

BESTOMELETEVER! We stayed at a rental place down the street for a week and came here 6x for breakfast in that time. Absolutely fabulous food! I tried three different kinds of omelets during the week and every one was amazing — super fluffy with great ingredients. My faves were the one with avocado slices on top and the one with the chopped chicken sausage inside. They have a very extensive omelet section on their menu and I cannot stress enough how amazing they are. My wife always got french toast which she said was very good. We both also tried their chicken sausage and turkey bacon and both were excellent. The place is small and doesn’t look like much from the outside. They have a lunch/dinner menu but we were never around for those meals. They had several write-up from newspapers framed on the walls so apparently the food is very good(Italian themed, if I remember correctly). There were two waitresses we dealt with — one on some days and the other woman on other days — and they were both super helpful, attentive and very friendly. The only thing I can say that isn’t fabulous is that I didn’t think the coffee was great. My wife liked it a lot more than I did. Meals were on the expensive side but we quickly realized that everything in San Francisco is expensive. So $ 40 for an absolutely fabulous breakfast is really the norm for that area. The sides can be a bit pricey, like the chicken sausage and bacon and we were always getting 1 – 2 of these items with each meal. Again, all the ingredients were super fresh and delicious. We were there before they opened on a couple days and saw the chef open the place up and she always had bags and bags of fresh produce. It got to the point where we would speak to the chef every day and she was very friendly and told us a lot about the neighborhood, the restaurant, etc. Very nice person. We are already planning another visit to SF and we will be visiting this place again. Truly a great breakfast place! If I lived in SF I’d eat at Café Lombard every day!

Fantastic Breakfast, wonderful family. Our 3 year old made a great friend with the youngest staff member today! The Eggs were cooked to perfection and the potatoes were the best I have ever had.

Most amazing omelet that I have ever had. Spinach, mushroom, onion and cheddar cheese. Awesome! Small café, friendly service. The waitress actually was the only person working and she waited on all of the tables and cooked our meals. She was wonderful! Def worth a visit if you are in SF!!!

The restaurant is small and super cute. They had music playing-mainly top 40. The service was great! My coffee mug was never empty! I had blueberry pancakes and they were good, but had a bit too much butter. The bacon was very crispy and my eggs were cooked perfectly.

Desayuno tipo Italo Americano, excelentes opciones, el omelete con salchicha italiana y queso excepcional, los Hot Cakes muy ligeros. Es una buena opción para desayunar a buen precio y el lugar es bastante acogedor

It’s a quaint diner dive and EXCELLENT! Virginia the cook knows how to cook. My friend got a tomato, jack cheese and avocado. Usually they give three little slivers of avocado but hers had a whole avocado(½ in ½ on top). I got over medium eggs which are usually never cooked right and they were perfect. The turkey sausage was yummy and the potatoes were flavorful. The buttered toast was real butter not the fake stuff. The other customers had a variety of things and every meal was completely eaten before leaving yummy place. This particular day the waitress was late to work and the cook was doing double duty for a bit and that caused some tension but the service and the food were very good.

So I am always a little hesitant when you go somewhere to eat in a busy area and there are no customers. We stopped for breakfast around 9am since it was close-by the hotel we were staying at. I guess the breakfastlunchseafoodpasta signs out front should be a dead giveaway that its gonna be one of those«everything» places(no specialty dishes-just a menu full of everything). Drinks were ordered and delivered. One to 2 pieces of ice per drink and the soda and water was not refrigerated so it melted quickly. Refills were given-no ice. I guess we should have asked but we just went with the flow. So we order our breakfasts. The BF and our daughter ordered the French toast and I ordered the eggs with ham, hashbrowns and toast. Funny that when the dish was sat in front of me there was leathery turkey bacon placed on top. When asked what happened to the ham they suddenly didn’t understand English or something because they looked very confused. I was not in the mood to argue considering they were already acting like they couldn’t understand me so you know right then this conversation is not going to get any better. Seems in other reviews the confusion is(at their own convenience) part of this place. Food was nothing to go back for –at least for breakfast… and yeah the service is in need for much improvement.

I had one of the best omelettes I have ever had here. It was a tomato, avocado, and jack cheese omelette that was cooked perfectly. The inside décor is weird and cheap feeling and the service was a bit slow(we were convinced they cook each order one at a time…) but once the food came it made up for it!

Drive down. Maybe avoid this tourist trap: But if you’re looking for a hearty brunch with great service this is your spot. Chicken apple sausage is a specialty and you’ll find it hard to think it’s not real deal. Juicy and full of flavor. Goes well on top of wheat toast with jam and egg whites. Latter done at no charge as part of the breakfast combo. Fruit swapped for potatoes too. Space is small and the interior shares close space with the kitchen. Looks to be a patio out back that on this rainy day was a reminder of sunny days ahead. Lady taking my order couldn’t have been nicer. Apparently a bit of a celeb with her Italian cooking(newspaper articles on the wall). Might have to return for that. Only hesitation is the price. $ 13 including tip is steep especially without coffee. But I enjoyed the food and loved the service so they earn a three star A-OK.

OK, not to sound like a cliché…but I RARELY write reviews but this one deserves it. I visited San Fran last year. We were running late for the football game and decided to eat here because it was next to our motel. First impression, I was not expecting anything good. The owner greeted us and promised me «the best omelet that I’ve ever had.» Yeah right-I thought. When it came out, OMG… Are you serious? I thought to myself. This ISTHEBESTOMELET I’VEEVERHAD! No kidding, no joking, 100% serious. This review is basically for this omelet that he made for me. one year has passed, and I am looking forward to my next visit to San Fran… yes just for this omelet. Nothing out of the ordinary, as far as toppings. It was just spinach, mushrooms and cheese. But the guy added his own spices and cooked it in a way that I have not been able to find, imitate or find the technique. My hat is off to you Chef. You’re omelet deserves 5 stars, and you were right. It was the best omelet I have ever had!

If you can’t say anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all, right? Maybe that’s why Café Lombard only has 12 reviews… Well, I do have *one* nice thing to say – their French toast is great! Moist on the inside and crispy with a nice eggy crust on the outside( ). For $ 5.95 it’s one of the better deals on their menu. The only reason my friend and I came was because we had a coupon – $ 6 for an omelet valued up to $ 12. She got the Lombard Special omelet with spinach, mushrooms, onions, and parmesan( ) while I got one with pretty much the same things but with cheddar instead and turkey sausage added( ). It doesn’t say on their menu but the omelets are served with fried potatoes and 2 slices of toast. The omelets could’ve been good; the fillings were good and plentiful. You know what else was in abundance? SALT. Our omelets were way oversalted. I hate wasting food so I still finished it, but I was thirsty for the rest of the day. At least the potatoes were tasty – nicely seasoned with a hint of chili powder and cooked just right. I was most unimpressed with their customer service. First, they appeared visibly displeased we showed them our coupons. Then the lady who was running the show yelled at the server lady for delivering our dishes to the wrong table – in front of all the customers! My friend also just went up to get a plate, napkins, hot sauce, and ketchup herself since asking our server would’ve taken way too long. Worst of all, my water glass was empty the entire time – and I sure could’ve used multiple refills from all that salt I’d ingested.
