This place is dope. It’s as groovy as the day is long. Jen, Henry, and the rest of the staff can make a mean cocktail and poor a wicked beer. It really feels like a cozy neighborhood bar… but it’s on Polk street! It’s a great place to unwind after work amor head out for the night. Top notch!

A few of us stopped in for a cocktail(or two) on Saturday night. The doorman let us in and we found a table in the back that seemed comfortable and nice. A guy came by to tell us that despite there being a menu on the the table, there was no table service, and that we’d have to order at the bar. Odd, given how small the bar is, but fine. A few minutes after settling in with our drinks, we noticed that the noise level in the bar had gotten really loud — and in the meantime, someone had thrown up in the corner near our table. They came over to clean it up(poor guy whose job that was) and we were left choking on the deodorizing spray that he used to mask the terrible smell. It’s a bar, I get it. .. but the ambiance was certainly lacking and the service mediocre at best.

The hubby and I came here after dinner for a drink. It was full but not too busy(I think it was only like 9 or 9:30) and we were actually able to find a seat. The bartenders were nice and they have a lot of nice alcohol behind the bar. I liked that they have tvs to watch sports but you can actually order a good drink. All in all it was a cool vibe and if we were in the neighborhood more often I could see coming in for drinks or to watch whatever sport is on.

Are you searching for the best art dark beer club in every of CA? A location in which, with possibilities so limitless, you are able to only operate wilderness and recklessly enjoy the limitless variety of beers they may have very carefully ready for you. Are available in, have a very good time, take pleasure in the crowds of people as well as the atmosphere. This location is not going to make you unhappy. Intoxicated, perhaps. A horrid hangover these early morning most likely. But unhappy? Just extremely hard. Even costs are correct. There exists nothing at all incorrect using this location.

Great place and even better bartender in Rebecca. Love Cabin and going for early football on Sunday’s.

It seemed like yuppies and the B&T crowd go here though I’ve no problem with that. I like how it’s a basic bar and not a dive bar so it’s cleaner. The bar has TVs with local sports teams on all the time so that is a plus. Also, it was loud but not unbearably loud. The last visit was on a Tuesday night and the place was crowded but not packed. Their cocktails are potent and, while not cheap, prices are reasonable. On the last visit our friendly and attentive bartender gave us suggestions on cocktails and even a mocktail. The Cabin Quencher was refreshing for a strong drink. Cabin is a nice bar and I would return. Too bad it is out of the way from home and work or else it would probably in my rotation.

Stopped by for a quick round of drinks on Tuesday, November 24th at 7:15pm before dinner. We ordered the Cabin quencher: dickel rye, cock and bull ginger beer, mint, lemon and another cabin something drink. I can’t recall the name for the life of me, but looking at their online menu, I remember the description being similar to the campfire, except with bourbon and strawberry shrub. Unfortunately they ran out of shrub and couldn’t make our drink, so our bartender Rebecca recommended another drink. I believe it was called something like Indian summer. Regardless, I liked both drinks and the bustling bar atmosphere. Fun quick stop before dinner.

Their Signatures cocktails are really special this is why I gave it 5 Stars, they have 4 types of barrel aged cocktails. they age them for 4 weeks or more, I tried the Black Buffalo and the Artichoke Negroni, The Scent and the Flavor for both were amazing, I enjoyed every single sip… they are little bit pricey, 14 $ each on a Saturday afternoon, I used a Groupon so it helped little bit, But It is totally worth it. They are so good I really wanted to the ask the lady behind the bar if I can buy one whole bottle of that as they have 4 bottles one for each cocktail next to the register.

One of my favorite bars for some Saturday afternoon libations when visiting SF. Very chill atmosphere, drink prices are reasonable and they always have some great beers on tap to sip on while you watch the game of your choice. I wish I could remember the name of the chick who was bartending this past Saturday she was hella cool to chat with, kept the drinks coming and made our experience twice as great as previous times. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a lowkey place to drink and catch up with friend or just watch a game.

A tad small and narrow on the inside so it tends to get crowded on the inside but a fun atmosphere. They have a nice selection of whiskeys here. I had the Black buffalo cocktail which was super good! Bartender was knowledgeable and even let us taste several different types of Fernet.

I really, really enjoyed Cabin! We were lucky enough to grab ample seating next to the window and it wasn’t overly noisy so my friends could hear all my ridiculously awesome and effective pick up lines. Polar bears anyone? I tried a few different drinks from their fall menu and was pleasantly surprised that they were well-balanced, not overly sweet and well crafted. The pumpkin old fashioned was much better than it sounded and that bacon bloody mary thing was amazing. I’d absolutely be back for drinks. And for those dirty dogs doing their thang 10 feet away outside.

San Francisco has been a wonderful place. Great bars and restaurants to visit. However The Cabin is by far the worst bar I have ever been too. This includes places in Oklahoma and South Carolina. The bar environment was nice and welcoming. Draft and bottled beers where good. Mixed drinks from the female bartender where so bad we sent them back twice, she also made remarks towards my wife that made us leave promptly. I’d say check this place out for a beer and the local patrons; their nice people. But if there’s a female bartender — stay away!!!

Best chill bar on Polk Street! The atmosphere, music, drinks, and bartender(Jen) deserve an A+ I am a first timer and a newbie to the neighborhood. We sat at the bar and ordered 2 bloody marys. Can i say that, that BM was amazing! Jen is a really knowledgeable and great bartender! I am not a heavy drinker nor do I know anything about liquor… Jen explained to me the differences between certain liquors, she also explained how the bottles are organized on the shelves and also recommended one of her favorite drinks, Michter’s American Whiskey… so good! went down smooth and tasted like vanilla! She also recommended Penddleton since I like crown. I will definitely pick it up at Costco. Thank you Jen for a pleasant evening!

Low key and easy. Nice bartender who gave us lots of tips. During happy hour you get a few dollars off the signature cocktails. If you are in the area give it a try.

My favorite neighborhood bar! I live across the street and love going to this bar for casual drinks with friends or watching the game. All of the bartenders are super nice and friendly. They always say bye when you leave… how many bars pay attention to that level of detail? I love it. They have a great selection of alcohol and is always up to recommend new things when you’re in the mood. I tend to stick to my usual, but now I’m addicted to their jalepeno cucumber gimlet. It’s the right amount to spicy and tart. They don’t serve food, but if you’re hungry, you can bring food in. No problem! Go here for bloody Mary’s also… Perfect for recovery on Sundays.

Cabin is an upgrade from Bigfoot Lounge before and I like what they’ve done to open up the space in the back. Overall, prefer leisure day drinking here versus being packed in on weekend nights. It’s pretty casual on weekend afternoons where the friendly bartender will hook you up with a pretty satisfying bloody mary or a cool pint as you soak in some sunshine. That is if you get the seat by the only window in the place. Plus happy hours till 7 and you get to enjoy the faux cabin experience across from the bar. It gets packed at night and I wished they made more space around the bar like they did in the back. It’s often a bottleneck around there on the weekend. Overall a step up from before and a decent bar for drinks on a street that in increasingly teeming with choices to booze up.

YAY for girls night out! Douchiest of douchebags plops himself at our table: «hey girls, when are you gonna buy me a drink?!» Now, I remember why I HATE this place. Two stars for the bartender taking his shirt off while closing up the bar. RAWR.

I never set foot in the old Bigfoot. From what I’ve heard, I wasn’t missing out on a lot — another dive bar on a part of Polk Street that is out-growing dive bars. Well, out went Parilla next door, in came 1760(que Swank!). Out went the Red Devil, in came Harper and Rye. Out went Bigfoot, and in came The Cabin.(Still waiting to see what replaces Big Apple Foods) So, gentrification is a fact of life in SF, and Polk Gulch is upgrading too. Not that this was a marginal neighborhood before, but now it is getting even classier. The Cabin is a good compromise in terms of the changes. I like a friendly dive bar. Generally, this is because I want to relax and not feel like I’m on display. I like bartenders who converse — I like fellow patrons who are interesting to shoot the breeze with. But, I’m getting older, and I do enjoy being in a place where I don’t get spare-changed in the bar, or find myself next to a person who is way over the line. I like my Upper-Polk(PolkNob?) standard of Street/Bar behavior. The Cabin is definitely not a dive bar, but it’s not a super high-end cocktail lounge either. This falls into the category of a nice bar which is nice-casual. If you’re in during the afternoon or weekends, it’s pretty relaxed. Lots of TV’s, so it’s not a bad place to watch the games. I hear Sundays get busy for 49ers. The after-work vibe is pretty much on par for the neighborhood — it’s the folks who live on Upper-Polk, West Nob Hill, Russian Hill — generally a late-20’s’/30’s age range. It’s people who want to relax and have drinks and a conversation. You can feel fine in a suit, or shorts and a t-shirt. I’m almost always in work clothes. BTW — I dig the log-cabin feel(which I think is a remnant from the Bigfoot days) Brass-Tacks: They have a nice cocktail list. Very nice full bar(it is actually a lovely presentation) and a good range of beer, wine, spirits. Prices are about as expected, and there is a Happy Hour. I’ve thought the bartenders are all pretty solid and have been good to chat with. Overall, nothing missing, but nothing truly exceptional or cant-miss. It’s not as high-end as a Redford or Harper and Rye, but it’s also not super casual. It’s relaxing and a good after-work spot, with lots of TV’s.

Purchased a Groupon pass for Cabin for a quick weekend in SF with my man, and had no ideas on what to expect. Arrived late on a Saturday night, and found Cabin to be like your favorite chocolate lab– loud, unique, dark, and friendly. We were greeted by an outgoing bartender who helped us sort our starter drinks, and we looked over the rest of our menus for what our next choices were going to be. They had a great mix of late 90’s early 2000’s pop and r&b, along with screens showing a multitude of sports. This is a barhopper’s paradise! Our first drinks were the Melon Marguerite($ 10) and the Pear Cooler($ 11), the former being fresh and bursting with melon goodness, the latter being one of the most refreshing, light, delicious, and positively girly drinks I’ve had to date. Round two consisted of the citrusy and dangerously easy to drink Daywalker($ 11), and the seasonally fun Blackberry Blanco($ 11). Last call we went for the tangy and feisty Cabin Quencher($ 9) and the Yellow Tricycle($ 11), which was the only drink of the evening I wasn’t fond of, but that’s probably just because I don’t like Prosecco. Drinks were made quickly, bartenders were friendly(shout out to the bartender who kept calling me baby girl– hayyyy), and the music was loud, but hey, it’s the weekend, live a little. Definitely interesting and new flavor combos, including the intriguing house made Hibiscus syrup. Glad to see places like this popping up, because I know that I speak for many of us, but I just can’t get enough of craft cocktails. Still working through the kinks of new ownership, like the music stopping randomly and the TV’s having focusing issues, but I know a good thing when I see it. Enjoy, SF!
