BEWARE! My friend got her phone stolen. It’s not the first time it happens. If you want to have fun, go somewhere else

My phone, along with 3 others, was fucking stolen right out of my enclosed wristlet. I’m constantly patting myself down and checking my phone while I’m out too. Holy shit I’m so furious. The staff could give a shit too or extended apologies. I’m fairly certain we were duped by a «birthday girl» decoy who was taking selfies with different groups all night. I’m going to be an icepick in Bootie’s ear about it until the end of time.

My friend invited me out to Bootie for about the 10th time, and I finally said yes. I don’t usually like going anywhere that involves crowds or dancing, but I actually enjoyed my experience here. I was warned that there’s a $ 10 cover before 10pm and $ 20 cover after that. Seems about right for any dance club. My favorite part was the variety of music. If I didn’t like the music in one room, I could just mosey into another one. There was a zombie high school prom theme on the night that we went, which made an interesting show on the main stage. Everyone seemed to be here for a good time and NOT make this into the usual trashy nightclub. Our group of friends ended up on the main dance floor by the end of the evening, where the DJ was mashing up different songs. The first few songs were awesome, then the mixes got weird, so I went home. Overall I’ll admit that I had fun and would actually come back to check out more of the DJs and hang out with friends!

Behold this cautionary tale of passion, intrigue, and loss at Bootie SF.(Imagine Moulin Rouge meets Taken — sub Liam Neeson’s abducted daughter with an iPhone 6s Gold.) Despite having previously skimmed the warning reviews about rampant phone pick pocketing at Bootie SF, I arrived at the club thinking, «I AMLEGEND. No way someone can steal from me and my cross-body purse with my quick ninja reflexes.» That was the 4 whiskey shots talking. The night began innocuously enough with Bootie’s famous acts of choreographed dancers shaking their booties, boobies, and nipple tassels. My jaw dropped in awe at how tastefully done everything was. Then came the amazing DJ who pumped up the crowd as the dance floors filled up. All night long I was in rhythmic bliss as I naively showed off my best dance moves ranging from Carlton’s 2 step to many creative interpretations of the Running Man. If this was a movie, the dance music would’ve come to a dramatic screeching halt as I reached into my purse only to find my wallet rolling around in all that extra phone space. If this was a Tarantino Movie, my ninja reflexes would’ve silently broken all 10 fingers of the thief the moment he reached into my purse. But seeing that this was neither a normal movie or a Tarantino masterpiece, the Kesha Mashups played on and only the world’s smallest violin played for me. To this day I still wonder if the thief left my wallet out of pity — so I could have some way of paying for a cab ride home or for the consolation street dog that whispered my name outside of DNA lounge that night. Or perhaps he had to prioritize pocket space for all the other phones he stole that night. Either way, Bootie was a fantastic night but they really need to not let their theme be taken so literally and be more zealous at keeping these phone pirates at bay. Maybe 1 phone per person exit checks… Just until someone develops an app. called DETONATE: self-explanatory.

KEEPYOUREYESONYOURPHONEWHENGOINGHERE! The reason I gave one star is that both my roommate and I got our phones stolen here out of our zipped, cross-body purses. Both of us were nearly sober. Phone thieves live for this place… even one of the bouncers said she had her phone stolen during an INTERVIEW! Sad :(heed my advice and be careful.

tl;dr notorious for pick-pocketers that will steal your phone, but still a super fantastical fun time. No dress code or pat downs. SO. FUN. I LOVE dancing, but I hate the whole dressing up, expensive drinks, dance like you’re trying to impress someone club scene. I’m from Sacramento, where there are no places(that I know of) where you can just go and vibe out. Tips: Don’t bring a purse Wear comfortable clothing with deep and/or secret pockets WATCHOUTFORYOURPHONE Buy the $ 10 before 10pm at the door, and come back later when it’s poppin(it’s $ 18 online with the fee) Drinks at the pizza place are cheaper(I think?) and there’s no line I read all the reviews on people getting their phone stolen and think«nahhhh it won’t happen to me» but my friend got her’s stolen! It was inside a small crossbody with huge fringes and a zipper, yet someone still managed to take it without her knowing. Mine was inside my super deep shorts pocket with a hoodie tied around my waist and it was okay. Anyway, I love that this venue makes it feel like a house party. You’re free to walk almost anywhere, even on stage! There’s different rooms with different themes, and they are ALL awesome. When you’re in need of a change of scenery, go explore the other rooms!

I don’t know; I think I may be too old for Bootie SF. I’ve been there one too many times now and in my sober state, I realized how similar Bootie is to the clubs in Tijuana I went to when I was 18. And let me tell you, that was a VERY long time ago. Drinks are served out of cheap plastic cups and my vodka pineapple tasted disgusting. The show that occurs at the beginning of the night changes each week but I’ve never liked any of them. This most recent one was a burlesque themed performance. I’m all for women embracing their bodies no matter what size it is but I did not want to see unfit women shaking it up there. Also, one of the«acts» had a person dressed as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle circling the stripping dancer. I was not drunk enough to understand what was going on. It is nice that there are 4 rooms with different music so you should be able to find some music you enjoy.

YASSS! This place is so awesome. Normally I don’t enjoy the whole clubbing experience. I’m just«too old for this sht». However, Bootie is a pretty special place. Got here before 10pm because cover was only $ 10 before 10pm and it’s $ 20 afterwards. FYI, there was no covering outside so if it rains you’re out of luck if you have to wait outside. The coat check was on the 2nd floor and it was $ 3. Right away I noticed that the people here were pretty friendly. There’s a lot of love on the main floor and openness. I liked the«bootie» music they were playing and the crowd in general was very nice. No pretentious skanks stepping on your toes with their 9 inch heels. Just people who accept you for who you are and dance with you if you just wanna dance. Around 11pm or so they stopped the music and we got a mini drag burlesque show. Awesome! Upstairs they have several rooms — I don’t know how many — with different type of music. We hung out upstairs for the rest of the night. The music was more«straight» but that also entailed stalker pervs who grab at you. My only issues with this place is that the bar doesn’t give you water. You have to pay like $ 4 for bottled water. They do have water fountains but I don’t trust that. There were only 2 bathrooms that I know of. You should go early in the night because towards the end they run out of toilet paper and the seat covers. Of course there’s also puke all over the bathroom too. I wish they would have someone restock and clean the bathroom at least once halfway through the night. Overall, this has been my favorite place I’ve clubbed at in SF.

There’s always a fun crowd here. I’ve always found some great people to dance with here. I like the different styles of music. The prices are great and the music puts you in a great dancing frenzy. There’s alot of bootie shaking here, great ratio if ya know what I mean heh heh. I’ve come here plenty of times and I’ve never had a let down. This place does get pretty busy.

Been here many times, had fun, fun crowd. However… When my friend accidentally broke one of their glass frames on the wall, the bouncer took advantage of my friend’s kindness and manipulated $ 60 from us as «payment». Excuse me, most management would apologize to us and pay for my friend’s cut up arm not demand money! What an outrage. Guess we know what kind of people run this place.

Went here on a Friday night upon recommendation for my friend who’s a regular. Outside-First off, the cover that night was 20 $ but it was cash only. And I only knew that after waiting in ljne after 20 min. But, their atm inside was broken and the atm across the street was broken and I had to walk quite far for the Bank of America atm. This club def wasn’t equipped to handle a lot of people. Inside– The music is phenomenal, lively and heavy beat that night. People in the club were a wide mix of people, looked older in my opinion, but it was lively and fun! Drinks good as well, nice bartenders

The 90’s songs mashed up perfectly, it was great music to listen to. The performances of aerial stilt was only the second I’ve seen in my life, the female relied more on finesse rather than strength it was like a beautiful struggle in midair. When I was on the dance floor it felt a little angry, the contact with people I mean. People moving from one spot to another spot forever discontented with the space they had to dance. So they would push and shove until they got what they wanted. I was trying to get lost in the songs and live the music but that proved too difficult to accomplish with all the Instagram videos that were being filmed around me. From the let me show you my six pack pose, to the 4 girl ass out duck face. You’re on a fucking dance floor, DANCE? Is that a little too much to ask, if it is I apologize. Surrounded by all these people I’m glad I felt alone. I party with the altered state of mind kind of people, you know the pot heads and shroom droppers. When I get together with them, more often than not conversations about shit that matters to me actually take place from the gentrification of cities to things people find beautiful. And dancing, pure out of body kind of dancing. Where everyone is there conscious of their surroundings feeding off everyone’s energy, but also unconscious of themselves able to let go of everything and just move to how they want the music to move them. These people in front of me were in a different state of mind as well, they were high on something I just couldn’t place it Up top from the second floor, which had separate lounge areas where something other than the 90’s mashup, if i recall correctly more laid back RnB was blasting. I couldn’t help but observe the masses, just standing there this was their version of dancing, or this was them letting loose. From the balcony it looked like they only were pretending to have fun, this is what they saw when they tuned into social media. This is what the people they don’t know look like when they’re having fun so this is what they should be doing too. Everyone was so controlled, no one wanted to completely let go in fear of ridicule from the 8 other people they came with, each member of this crew wore their glow sticks around their neck. To signify as were a group and we don’t want anyone without glow sticks talking to us. Same went for every other group out there, it was too cliquey everyone stayed within their groups, defended by the circular walls formed with their shoulders, afraid of letting in a little strangeness into the night. I scrolled through the possibilities, It wasn’t molly, they were too angry for that. From all the things I’ve seen about cocaine in the movies, doesn’t that stuff sober you up and make you numb? Meth I have no clue what that does, I’ll leave that as a maybe. My best guess is their drug of choice was alcohol… alcohol and power.

I visited the club on New Year Eve Do-Over Party, a reenactment of the countdown and celebration of 2016. I arrived before 10:00 pm, so admission was $ 10:00, plus I received 2015 best of Booties Mashup CD. I counted about 20 guests inside the club. The coat closet is on the second floor, off to the side, but facing the stage. It is $ 3.00 for each item, cash only. There are four dance floors, each when their own style of music. Three of the larger areas have fully stock bars and there is plenty of seating in the whole lounge. Drinks are expenses, more so than I ever expected, but luckily they do accept credit cards at the bar with no minimum. Plus, there is ATM inside. Since it was NYE weekend, a wide assortment of people began filling up the club about 11:00 pm. From the way, I was dressed and what I saw, I felt lounge was LGBTQ friendly. Each hour the DJ at the main dance floor rotated bring their own brand of music mush-up. I danced most of the evening and got to be on stage and Go Go boxes on the main dance floor. Also saw women falling off stage and boxes during the night. Probably due to poor night vision. There was a music break for some girlie entertainment, which I saw most of the female audience was turned off by and went to other dance areas. There are bus stops near the lounge but prepare to working in getting driver attention to stop. The same applies in trying to catch your Über/Lyft drivers as well. I felt a good vibe from everyone; people were friendly and had a great time. I would come back again, but next time, I will pay off my card credit balance before buying another drink there.

Bootie SF is my go-to spot to go dancing and have a fun night in SF! I’ve had a great experience every time I’ve been here. If you get there before 10, cover is only $ 10, which is very reasonable. It’s a little empty at 10 but does start filling up quickly and there’s a good amount of people by 11. I love the mash-up music and all the random little events they have here(ex holiday burlesque show). These usually go on around 11 – 12 and then they start playing more traditional club music after midnight. The main dance floor is huge and not too cramped and they also have a stage. Dancing on stage doesn’t feel creepy like it can at some places because it’s pretty big and there’s a lot of other people up there with you having a good time! If you like other genres of music, they also have smaller rooms upstairs with R&B, rap, etc. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you have a free Saturday night! :)

First, let me start off by saying I wasn’t expecting the pirate theme at all, but I get it. Pirate bootie(joke’s on me I guess). Bootie is one of those clubs where its damn near mando(mandatory) you’re on the same level as everyone else in there… or else you’re in for a long night. But if you’re on level 10, looking to fist pump and grind the night away, this is the club for you! The main dance floor predominately plays Mash-ups and EDM all night. The Dj threw in a couple of hip hop hits but not many. This is where the majority of the people party at. Dance floor was full till about 3am. The 2nd dance floor upstairs was more my speed. Not as crowded as the main dance floor and played a better mix of music. They played a good mix of hip hop, top 40, and some dancehall. I went with a pretty big birthday group and everyone found something they could enjoy. We had a table away from the madness, which is always a good idea. Bottle service wasn’t too expensive and our server checked on us frequently. All that being said, I had a great time and would definitely go back. My advice to the reviewers out there would be: Watch out for Drunk Frat bro’s, and come ready to rage.

Wow, I got a jammin’ sampler from them. They are totally mix-masters. I love these guys. They lay the foundation for a killer party. If you see and hear them perform you will totally ask who they are before you leave. Nice crew. Had a great mini-chat on the side while they spun. OMG, wish I has a bigger house. Woot woot ! ! ! I think I have found my favourite club in SF. Bootie is by far the most enjoyable clubbing experiences of my life. First, let’s talk about their music. This club goes nuts with mash ups with all the genres I love and make it into club music that I would dance my butt off to. From Green Day to Lion King to Michael Jackson to Guns n Roses, they make mash up songs that would get the whole crowd hyped up and sing along! This is great because playing songs that everyone loves exponentially increases the energy of the whole place. The place itself was huge, they got the main floor which was not too crowded and then there is the main stage. It is about 7 ft above the floor and it is a small squared stage for people that want to get up close to the music and dance. I was mostly on the stage and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. They also got an upstairs with diner style seats for people that want to just sit and chill to the music. Bootie has got a place for everyone. Whether you want to dance hard, casually or just sit down and enjoy a drink. Here is a bonus: they got a pizza restaurant connected through the exit that was still open at 3am for all the hungry people leaving the club. That is in my opinion a very nice touch, since people usually crave savoury food after clubbing/drinking. Even though they have a $ 20 cover fee but I think it was well worth.

There are two smaller rooms upstairs for HIPHOP&EDM, then there’s the main area downstairs with a stage & way too many shirtless males dancing haha HUNGRY after the club? you have to walk through a pizza place to exit Bootie SF anyways so you might as well grab a slice, it was actually pretty good $ 20 cover charge for men or women on a Saturday night NOTE: cash only at the bar inside, that’s ridiculous

OK everyone, this place is the f*cking bomb. Don’t be afraid of the $ 20 cover(it’s $ 10 before 10pm) because it is SOWORTHIT. I’ve been to plenty of clubs in other cities and they pale in comparison. The place is open way past 3am too, so much dancing to be had! I hear it can get very crowded but when we went for my friend’s birthday on a Saturday night, it wasn’t too bad; there was enough space for about 10 of us to dance in a circle on the stage. They’ve got live DJs and the environment is casual. We started the night with a drag show, those men were so fabulous and beautiful, I was extremely jealous. The music was on point, hip hop mash-ups like no other! There are at least 3 or 4 dance floors if you’re not diggin’ the music(with techno, hip hop, electric, top40) but the main dance floor with the stage is the best place to be! They also throw out CDs of the mash ups and I was able to snag one, hehe. Since we went on drag night, there were a bunch of beautiful half naked men dancing on the stage, which reminded me so much of Magic Mike. They were lovely to look at and dance with! The bathrooms are great and located near every dance floor, with a water fountain next to them(hallelujah, no more standing at the bar getting dirty looks from the bar tender when you just need to quench that thirst). Will definitely come here again next time, can’t wait to hear their new mash ups!

My first time here was last summer(July ’14) and warranted 4 stars for such an cool and interesting experience. Unfortunately the last time I was here definitely left a lot to be desired that I won’t be returning unless a friend really wanted to go. My first time here, the drinks were under $ 10 each and poured by friendly bartenders. The drag show was great with interesting costumes and choreography, and I couldn’t wait to tell all my friends about it. Loved loved loved it! The crowd was really into it and after it ended, we all danced on the center stage and the mashup music was amazing. Oh, and the entertainers were pretty attractive, too ;) Cue 9 months later, and the Monster Drag show last month was, well, a total drag, pun intended. Limited choreography with mostly mediocre lip-syncing and minimal costumes. There wasn’t much of a show, but I can tell the crowd tried to cheer for some of it, but it was pretty much a total bust/miss. I wouldn’t pay $ 20, much less $ 10 to see this. Not to mention the bartenders seemed bored and the drinks were $ 16-$ 18 that night. Seriously, it was a mediocre long island iced tea for that much and served in a semi-opaque plastic cup smaller than what you’d get in Vegas, is definitely not cool. Oh how much has changed in a year. As much as my SF weekend was«all uphill from here», my night here was definitely downhill at Bootie SF, save for the awesome random couple I met while dancing in the hip-hop room.

Bootie is INCREDIBLE in all the ways a club should be. Even thinking about it makes me want to shake my butt in my office chair right now. Everyone here is happy, friendly, and energetic(you can even go up on the stage to dance!). The music is great — they play 90s music mashed with current songs, which often goes anywhere from Backstreet Boys to Katy Perry to Red Hot Chili Peppers to Britney Spears. Really great vibes. Unlike some of the other clubs in the city, Bootie is very casual and doesn’t have a specific demographic. TIPS: — Arrive after midnight. 90s mashup music doesn’t start until then, and people are the craziest after that time too. — If you’re sure beforehand that you’re going, buy tickets online. It’s $ 15 for the ticket + $ 3 service fee, so you save $ 2. That’s $ 2 you could be spending for 2 items on the Dollar Menu! — BRINGCASH(entry is $ 10 before 10pm, or $ 20 after) — if not for entry, then for buying drinks. There are ATMs located inside, but it’s such a hassle. — Go to the bathroom before you leave for the club. Lines for the bathroom get long because there are hardly any stalls. — There’s a pizza place next door. Can you say drunchies? The only negatives are that it’s often jam-packed(be ready to rub up against some sweaty strangers), the lines for the bathroom can take a looong time, and sometimes you see some questionable people here. If you’re in a group of friends, however, you don’t really have to worry much. WARNING: People steal phones here ALLTHETIME. I’ve had at least 5 friends have their phones stolen at this club. It’s very easy to get your stuff stolen, as everyone’s just kind of jammed up together all the time. Keep your valuables close. Bootie only happens on Saturday nights, so make sure to mark that date for next weekend!

The bar tenders are very rude especially upstairs. The music and show that they are fairly nice and entertaing but honestly the horrible, rude, yelling bar tenders spoil the moment. I guess maybe they are used to dealing with drunks that they just act rude at anyone. I simply asked for water and an old bar tender lady upstairs yellled at me saying«we give no free water this is not a charity it’s 4 dollars if you don’t have money leave». I obviously did have money and that was extremely offensive given the treatment. Never coming back. I liked the booties show, but hate that they choose this venue with rude bar tenders. Booties show: 4 stars Venue: Negative 1 3 stars total I guess overall

Fun, fun, fun! I came here on NYE with my cousins and we had a good time. $ 48 cover charge which wasn’t too bad compared to other clubs since it was NYE. The bar is cash only and they have a coat check. There’s also a seating area where you could order food and drinks. The women’s restroom has only one stall so a lot of the women use the men’s restroom. My cousins and I ordered the AMF and then we went to the dance floor, which was filled with Indians. They pop out of nowhere and literally start grabbing you when you’re dancing. Everyone I met here was pretty friendly. The music here is actually good too. I love their mashups! :) The security also did their job. I saw them carry out a drunk guy.

Arghhhh Matey, why don’t you spare me some bootieeee?! Lol.I’ve finally experienced the infamous Bootie SF last Saturday night when I finally had a Saturday night off from work. My friend asked me what I wanted to do with my night off. I replied«Dance the night away, of course!» So we met up there at 9:30pm to snag the $ 10 cover charge before 10pm. Of course since it was still early, there was barely anyone there at the venue yet. But later on the night, the place got so packed! The mashups were interesting, but it’s definitely not really quite my cup of tea. There’s definitely of variety of people in the club. Thank goodness for diversity! I’m not really a fan of clubs that always have the majority of Asians. Lol. There was a drag show which would be my first time to see one. It was pretty amusing & seemed like the«ladies» do have a splendid time on stage. Oh wait. I have seen a drag show before at AsiaSF. Lol fun time. Overall, I had a pretty good time here. $ 10 cover charge on a saturday night before 10, i think it gets more after 10pm. Definitely make sure to have cash because for some reason this place hasn’t upgraded to take card? weird. Drinks are a bit on the weak side but I guess i am not surprised. However, if you’re a good looking guy, talk up the gay bartender, he’ll give you a shot for free and take it with you while ignoring an actual customer(me) so he can try to get some digits. :P The mashup music was pretty good though, not a fan of the live performances, just keep the mashups going!
