I’m very disappointed and upset with the management from this place and I said management because I really like the place and the employees are very nice. Well let me tell you why, I was partying here on 05⁄14 and I ordered a drink and I paid with my credit card it was one drink only so they ask me to open a tab I was totally ok doing that because I trust this people I gave my card and ID to them at the end of the nite I left home without my card or ID because I forgot to get them back so next day I called audio but not luck so I waited till the next weekend to go get my card to find out they lost my ID and card, what upset me the most is the shitty attitude of the manager telling me «Oh well is not our responsibility you left you card and ID» how is not going to be you responsibility? If you asked me to leave it open and you guys are in charge behind the bar to keep things safe. I just want people to know what happened to me so they can be careful when they leave tab at audio and forget at the end of the nite.

I don’t usually write reviews for clubs let alone give them five stars. This is mainly for Aimi who helped organize my bosses 40th birthday at Audio/Bergerac. We set up a table through Discotech who put us in touch with Aimi. We didn’t talk to her much until the day of and she really came through. We asked last minute if we could reserve a table downstairs at Bergerac and she was able to make it happen but not without telling us first she wasn’t 100% sure if we needed to reserve one(it cost an extra bottle). I love how honest she was and wasn’t just trying to milk us for all we had. She made sure to reserve the table and let us know we could cancel it at the event we were able to get a table ourselves. We ended up getting the bottle just because it was easier. The waiter also let us know it was either $ 40 minimum/pp or getting bottle service. The didn’t make any drinks for us but brought us all the mixers and made sure they were refilled. One huge negative is that they will not let you bring your bottle upstairs to Audio even if you have a table there. This is totally ridiculous because its the same owner and in one freaking building. We ended up having to abandon a quarter of the bottle at Bergerac. Weak. Super weak. We spent almost $ 2500 here for table service they should let us bring the freaking bottle upstairs. Even on my credit card it says Bergerac/Audio aka all the money is going to the same place anyways! Aimi upgraded us to the table right next to the DJ booth for no extra charge. She personally made sure everyone was taken care of and was able to get in. I’ve had a lot of table service experience at various clubs but Audio takes the cake. She was definitely the best person working there. When we were trying to move up to Audio I asked the security if there was a separate line for bottle service and they told me no so I waited in line for forever until Aimi saw me and was all wtf you don’t have to wait in line and got me inside immediately. The lines outside are kind of disorganized and are very slow moving. There are multiple lines but apparently they’re all for the same thing even tho I saw some people with tickets and others not. This is also one of the few and rare non asian clubs in the city thank the freaking Lord. There is nothing I can’t stand more than huge groups of Asians making me feel like I’m in China with all these wanna be Yakuza looking dudes and asian girls who can’t hold their liquor. The bathrooms at both Bergerac and Audio are packed to the brim with everything a girl would need. High end makeup, mints, gum, cigarettes, tampons, hairspray, mouthwash, literally ERRYTHANG. I heard from the bathroom attendant its all her own stuff that she brings in and she makes money off the tips so make sure you tip them if you use something. As far as I know they don’t have free guestlist here but their cover isn’t super expensive to begin with. If you look online beforehand its like $ 16 which is weird because its listed as a $$$ club and Love & Propaganda is supposed to be a cheap club but their cover at the door was $ 50?! Guess it depends on the Dj. We saw Oliver and had a blast. Big thanks to Audio for a successful birthday party! Everyone had a great time and I kept getting props for setting everything up muhahhaha

One of my favorite clubs! It has an intimate Las Vegas posh vibe to it. Good looking people and over priced drinks but, the ambience makes it totally worth it. Met a NYC hip hop mogul here over a year ago that I still see from time to time. Definitely a hot spot in the city.

I paid with a card and the bartender saw that I didn’t put a tip. she said that I was rude and that I should go somewhere else. If only she waited a few seconds for me to tip her in cash. Then I went to the other bar and the bar tender said that we were annoying because we had five different drinks and we were ordering one person at a time. I would completely understand if the bar had a line but it was slow and there was no one else behind us. Really disappoint since this was my favorite bar to go.

Got kicked out for absolutely no reason. They pushed me down the stairs with no explanation and when I ask for one, no explanation was given. I know that most places reserve the right to deny admission to anyone, this is the first time I’ve been treated like this at a Club in America.

Cons: could be bigger space, but then again, it’s kinda cool to see a top DJ in an intimate setting. I agree with some of the other reviewers — if I’m buying $ 10 drinks and tipping you $ 2, all night long, the least you can do is pour me a free glass of water and not charge me 4 bucks. whateva. Pros: sound system, excellent. DJs they’re able to book — stellar. Drinks strong and reasonable.(to all the cheap asses who cited that drinks were too expensive, wah wah, get a life. $ 10 – 11 for a mixed drink is STANDARD. 60 bucks for the night and you’re more than drunk…) Bartenders were cool — again, whoever these people are complaining about rude bartenders, maybe you should start by being cool and tipping for a change? Sound level is great. you could still speak to your friends(well, close to shouting) but the music was still THUMPING, without blowing out your eardrums. Well played AudioSF! Overall, a good diverse crowd of all ages, backgrounds, etc and majority seemed to be there solely for the music, which is how it should be. Lack of VIP room and bottle service crap is much appreciated(although I think you can get that if you want?) Yeah, def the pro-tip is, while there is ample street parking, the Costco has secured parking from 830p-230a for $ 10. Good option if you want to feel your car is safe.

WHHHATTTT?! I CAN’T HEARYOUOVERTHEAWESOMESOUNDSYSTEM!!! Let get to the nitty gritty: 2 bars, located on each end of the venue. Depending on who the bartender is, drinks are strong and fairly decently made. The main dance floor is a little odd, don’t forget there’s steps! All you ladies out there in those 5 inch heels, don’t be a hot mess and miss a step! They had some cool DJ’s that come through, I’ve seen a couple and had a good time. The sound is amazing, hence the name! DUH! It’s like wearing some noise cancellation headphones — almost. It gets HOT in there though, so think twice what you’re going to wear here. The bathroom. oddly located down the stairs. If you need to take a smoking break, you exit through the bar below the venue.

Here is your definitive review for Audio… an analysis of what it used to be, and what is now: I don’t write a lot of reviews, but when I do it’s because I either had a fantastic experience, or a really dismal one. Let me preface by saying I used to be a HUGE fan of Audio. Melvin the bouncer is still hella cool – mad props to that guy! I came here on 3.18.16 to catch Fehrplay. Cool DJ, so I thought why not jump on the FREE(before 11pm) guestlist, like I always do if it is available. I got to the door at around 10:15. Line was short. Here’s where my night started to take a bumbling turn. 1. ADMISSIONWASNOTFREE: I was asked to pay $ 10 instead of being allowed in for free. When I asked why, they said«It’s $ 10 now», and couldn’t get an explanation as to why. So a club manager walks by and says the same. So I say, «Ok, so you made a mistake on your website, because I’ve been coming here for the past 2 years, I’ve never had to pay for your advertised FREE guestlist. No explanation was given, just«Now it’s $ 10, and we didn’t make a mistake.» So I sucked it up, paid the $ 10 and went up. I wasn’t going to let two condescending douche bags ruin the beginning of my night. Expect this to be the norm now for semi-popular DJs. 2. COATCHECKCAVIAR: Coat check is now $ 4, when it used to be $ 2. I don’t even bother taking a jacket here anymore. Even Ruby Skye doesn’t charge $ 4 for coat check! The nickel and diming ensues… 2. RUDESTAIRCASEBOUNCER: When I got up the club, I got a drink(it was empty and I didn’t have to wait), and I took the stairs down to Bergarac, which is usually a mad house on Fridays, but fun. The bouncer on the staircase is a new guy with freckles, and he’s kind of a douche. This guy really does think he’s the man. He’s not. Melvin used to be in this spot, and he was was in fact, the shit! 3. DRUNK, BUMBLINGGUYS: I walk through the double doors into Bergarac, and one after another, drunk and uncoordinated guys(of the preppy variety) start running into me, and into everyone else. You will get bumped into, and your drink will spill. The music downstairs is usually pretty dope. I regular DJ there is Colleen… or was it Collette? She’s great! 4. DRUNK, BUMBLINGGUYS, CONTINUED… I decided to go back upstairs, and wait for the headliner… which took forever. He didn’t come on till 12am. I dance. I get run into… over and over again. I hold my ground. Drunk guys want to get into fisticuffs. The floor is packed with them! I laugh and keep dancing. Overprotective guys think I’m stealing their GFs. No, I just have rhythm and know how to dance, and they’re enjoying themselves. In fact, they didn’t even ask for your assistance. Keep in mind these are the same low-class guys from downstairs. The crowd at Audio used to be fairly cool. Not so much anymore. 5. ROBOTBARTENDERS: The bartenders have now turned into unfriendly robots, when they used to be really chill(props to Jessica, who is no longer there – bummer). The bartenders will pretend like you don’t even exist, and face their backs to you. This has changed drastically from the way it used to be. 6. WATERWILLCOSTYOU: Toward the end of the night, I didn’t want to drink anymore. Water is a limited commodity, and it will cost you. LISTENUPAUDIO… WATERIS A BASICHUMANNEED, and you can’t deny your patrons glasses of water because you want to up sell your $ 4 bottle of Fiji water. What if one of your patrons needed water due to an emergency, and didn’t have any cash on him to pay for your premium water, or your bartenders were too busy ignoring them? This is what separates your club from spots like Mighty and Public Works, which have water freely available for everyone on the bartop. You’re now more like a Temple or a Slide/Ruby Skye, where all you care about is squeezing as much money out of your patrons as possible. CONCLUSION: You may have some pretty good talent that come through your smallish club, but so do a lot of A-list clubs in the area. You aren’t anything special anymore. You’re embarrassing yourself, and you’re becoming a «typical bottle service club». It’s not about the vibe, music and the people anymore. For you, it’s now all about business. This place is not relevant anymore. I don’t recommend coming here anymore unless there is a stellar act in town. And even then, don’t say I didn’t warn you. Hope this review was helpful. Cheers!

Sound system 5 stars!!! Room 5 stars! Bartender friendliness and speediness 5 stars!!! Quality of DJs 5 stars!!! So why 3 stars? After a while it was so crowded one could hardly move!!! Is it me or is that a major fire hazard that it took me over 20+ minutes to walk(errr, squeeze and smash my way) from one side of the room to the other?! Hello owners, don’t be so greedy and let so many people in! It’s not fun when you can’t even stand in one place or dance at all without people smashing into you constantly. That must be illegal.

Got my iPhone stolen here — be careful of your stuff! It was in my pocket or purse… can’t remind at the time but it’s a goner. The lady at coat check was quite rude when I asked if anyone turned in a phone. Otherwise cool venue.

worst club ever. We bought tickets to an event here on a Friday night. On the Facebook event, it said doors would open at 9pm. Some friends were on the guest list(which was closed by the day of the event), so we wanted to get there early to make sure they got in. We get there at 9:30pm, only to have Audio’s doors still closed. This would normally not bother us as much, except it was POURING rain that night. Audio’s bouncers were completely fine with patrons waiting outside UNCOVERED in the pouring rain until after 10pm, when the event said doors would open at 9. Even worse, they had a canopy covering the entrance(no one standing underneath), while everyone else stood 100 feet away. Audio itself is nothing to brag about. Really small dance floor with little ventilation.

ODESZA after party DJ set! Hellz yeah! I got to stand right in front of there set and listen to them play there songs mixed with songs they liked. It was awesome. The venue is also pretty cool too, it was a nice small venue to see ODesza since they are big time now. Try to get to know the security guards or talk to them a little they sorta hekp u get around and nice to you. There is a bar downstairs from audio, and it very cool to with hip hop music and mixed with 90’s hits. Awesome place audio is.

I am a huge fan of Audio. They, along with Public Works, attract the best electronic music talent to SF from all over the world. The sound system and music are excellent, the dancing is great, the bar downstairs is a great place to relax & chat if you need a break from the dance floor, and the staff is generally very solid. People tend to dress up a bit more here than at Public Works and Mighty, and I feel like it can attract a scene-y crowd from time to time. Just something to be aware of, I suppose, in case that is/isn’t what you’re looking for. I also want to give a shout out to Matt, the most efficient bartender I’ve ever had. The speed at which he takes care of his customers(with well made drinks, I might add) is amazing. There’s hardly ever a line by him(selfishly, I don’t want to share this info for fear of lines forming but I thought he deserved some recognition).

Came here with a friend for a girls night out. The place was smaller but you can go downstairs to a more lounge area which was nice. I live in Chicago and don’t remember the last time I had to pay a $ 20 cover to get into club, so I’m taking off a star for that. The music was ok but could use more of a variety, so I’m taking off a star for music as well. Not a place I will likely come back when in town.

ADIOS MOTHA …FuuuANTASTIC club with good music. They do not play that basic ragey edm here, all deep house and techno. However, they do that thing where they purposely keep the line long outside even though inside it’s totes empty. It’s REALLY dark inside so hold on to your friends tight. Audio is basically the SF version of Output in Williamsburg; minimal on the décor and light shows, emphasis on the sound. With a crowd that thinks they’ve grown out of traditional over the top nightclubs. And get the AMFs if you hate/love your life like me!

Woohoo! Review #100 :) Audio has some top talent passing through SF and the club space is really, really nice. The infinity tube over the dj booth is what I really love though. Two bars, platforms to dance on, a skylight, and to top it off… an amazing sound system!

SERVICE + Audio didn’t open until 10pm, so the security guards said that we can go into Bergerac while we waited — It was so crowded, the 3 bartenders were super busy and it was hard to get their attention @ Bergerac + Lots of seating areas @ Bergerac + Security was suuuuper nice and fair. Stern to those who were misbehaving, but accommodating to those who were on guest list /re-entering. — They only serve Lagunitas IPA @ Audio? No other beer? :( + We were allowed to sit in the VIP areas while they weren’t being used CROWD + Very diverse crowd, but I feel like it was 80% guys and 20% girls + No dress code. Some people were dressed up, some were wearing nikes and t-shirts. — Towards the end of the night, people started becoming very pushy and annoying(expected, of course but these people were not being handled by security) OTHER + I used the Guest List Nation app to RSVP, but my name didn’t show up on their guest list. However, the security guy was kind enough to let us in. We got there really early, so maybe he was in a good mood. + The sound system is sooooooo good, very crisp and clear + I like how the venue is small and intimate + Well-ventilated, THANKYOU!!! The fans in combination with the AC prevented it from being too hot and sweaty + Easily found street parking. It’s kinda sketchy though, I would put all my belongings out of sight, just in case MUSIC + I’ve been here to see Hotel Garuda(2÷8÷15) and Autograf(6÷6÷15). It’s definitely for those who have the taste for deep house. Some people are just not a fan as the music can be very repetitive and tedious.

Been here twice now, once at morning and once at night. Much different experience between the two — the morning Daybreaker party is light, fun, and a happy atmosphere, while the regular nighttime scene is your usual dark club with loud music. Audio is little on the small side when compared with other dance clubs in the city, but the sound system makes up for the size. Great quality sound wherever you are in the room. The overall flow can get bunched up on the outer rim of the dance floor, so the bars in opposite corners pulls some of that crowd away from the door(and bathrooms). It all depends on what you’re into, because the music varies night to night — as with any club, your experience will vary greatly on this. It’s a great space for dancing(if not too crowded) or just chilling out and doing some damage to your eardrums. Lights are nice, but nothing spectacular. Drinks are average price for SF(kinda pricey) but I didn’t have any complaints about staff or quality. I would come here again if someone I like is playing.

I can see how Audio would be a fun, classy venue on a night with a show. However, I went on a standard no-show Friday night. No complaints about the staff, who were very friendly and courteous, or the venue itself. The dance floor was well lit and surrounded by seating. The bathroom was lovely and had an attendant. Might be a good place for a birthday party or similar where you mostly want to associate with your own group. However, the music was incredibly boring. My friends and I arrived around 10:45 and asked the bouncer about the crowd — he said it was decent(no cover, which was great). There was indeed a decent number of people inside but no one was dancing. We quickly discovered that they were playing the same, un-danceable song over and over(or at least, songs that were indistinguishable), got bored, and left within an hour for a bar.

Cool venue with an awesome sound system. If you’re an audiophile, this place will be an eargasm… but only if you enjoy house/trance. I wish they had more variety when it came to music. I need some of that ratchet music to dance to! Dance floor was much too small for my liking. It was hard to get enough space to dance without stepping on someone, or being stepped on. The bartender we ordered from was awesome! He was full of life, dancing away to the music while mixing our drinks. We asked for sweet drinks and his concoctions were delicious and strong! Kept us nicely buzzed for quite awhile. However, their policy is two drinks minimum on card. You can always keep your tab open to order a second drink later. Make sure to get on the guest list. It’ll get you in free before 11pm. Also, keep your confirmation email just in case. Their coat check is $ 2 I believe. Area seems a bit dangerous so don’t keep anything in your car in plain sight! Also, parking is a bit difficult. Maybe I’ll be back if I feel like raving without paying for a rave!
