I loved the place! We had a great time, the music was amazing! The food was delicious, the drinks were stiff, and the ambiance and lighting were very well done. I can’t wait to go back soon!

Go for the music. Nice layout where you’re close to the stage and some really cool music. The food in the other hand is mediocre and borderline bad on some days. The last time we went, the wait staff were just out of it. Indifferent and couldn’t give a damn. We got served the wrong drink and the food was of such low quality that the $ 118 tab for three was a total rip off. The music was great but you pay at the door for that. So eat elsewhere if you go.

Great music! Watched Earl Thomas for his last show of the summer. Our waitress was amazing! Really payed attention to our food and was very on point. We even had a bread pudding on the house for being cute with my significant other. Talk about a lovely night :).

I stopped in for my birthday randomly. Earl Thomas put on a fantastic show! We tried the wings, corn and shrimp app, and biscuits. They were all fantastic.

Great place and music but with the most uncomfortable chairs in the world. Beg for a banquette. I was also an idiot and tried to order red wine — awful. I forget bars have terrible wine so it was my fault.

I absolutely LOVE this place! The club is underground which creates a really intimate feel. There isn’t a bad seat in the house, but if you prefer booth seating get there early. There’s also convenient parking next-door at the Mason St. Garage. Every show is a good show. you really can’t go wrong! Come early for some awesome food(biscuits!!) and drinks, and stay for the amazing music. Great service and ticket prices too! Always good vibes and a wonderful time!

Came here during Mardi Gras. The lighting was great by having blues, greens, purples and yellows to give you that mardi gras vibe. The service staff were friendly, and were pretty quick to get my drinks and order. The drinks did their intended job. For appetizers I ordered the deep fried mac n cheese, and a few other items i can’t recall. I really liked the music that was played. All types of jazz from latin jazz, New Orleans, to early Ska blues.

Went with the missus for a b-day celebration. The food was good, not great, the drinks very good, the music very good and the atmosphere very fun and inviting. I can’t wait to go back again! Ya feel me?

I enjoy the fact the this location is under ground. It sets a cozy tone. The food is top quality, southern cooking with a twist. Our waitress was new to the establishment but served us like a Biscuits and Blues veteran, I wish I could remember her name! She was extremely personable and attentive. I enjoy this place time and time again and I constantly find myself craving the collard greens and nachos! Nothing like a full tummy of comfort food and an ear full of the Blues!

I booked a table there for Christmas, dinner for two. Due to unforeseen circumstances I could not attend. Two weeks later I saw a charge for $ 48.00 on my credit card. When I called the Biscuits & Blues representative told me this was a charge for two cancelled tickets. I didn’t even know there was a concert that night, let alone having purchased tickets. Nowhere on opentable did they say there was a concert that night. I feel scammed and will definitely will not recommend them to my friends. TL;DR: Even if there was a nuclear apocalypse and there was no food on earth and their biscuits where made from magic fairies, I would not give these guys my credit card info again.

The music, was great! The performers had lots of energy and were very friendly! That is the saving grace of this review. Our server was extremely inattentive to us. He forgot things like bringing us water and clearing our plates. When the table was full, with an empty appetizer plate, two empty entrée plates, and two wine glasses, first, he came by and only took the appetizer plate at the very edge of the table which cleared no space. Then he came back and asked, «would you like me to take those wine glasses?» We sat the majority of our 2 hours there and watched many others get water and attention before us. When the bill came at the end, we put two cards in as to split the bill. The only time he quickly returned to us was with the check for us to sign and THANKS written in all caps next to the tip calculation section he circled. The thing that ticked me off though was that they listed tip on each split of the bill by the full amount. So, my split was $ 37 and they still listed ~$ 13 as the tip I should pay. This practice is extremely misleading to the consumer and also, audacious considering the deplorable service.

This review is primarily for our server, Mike. Mike with glasses. He is easily the friendliest, most helpful server my fiancé and I have had in a long time. He builds a great rapport with his customers and he is just the loveliest gentleman. He was incredibly attentive and our water glasses were never empty. We racked up a large tab by the end of the night, and he got us our food and drinks very quickly and with a smile. He heard in passing that it is my birthday tomorrow, and at the end of the night he surprised me with a dessert with a candle in it. Such a sweet surprise. One of the band members fell down with a health issue and the band paused for a while and left the stage, so we decided to leave. I couldn’t find Mike in the commotion, so I got our tab from the cashier and paid with her. As we were driving away down Mason, we saw poor Mike run out of the restaurant looking upset. He came to the car and thought we had left without paying. He was still so friendly and nice, despite being worried we had royally screwed him. Mike — we would never do that to you. You are hands down one of the best servers we’ve ever had. Aside from that — awesome food, incredible music. Mike really put the cherry on top of a wonderful birthday evening.

We had a blast! We came in for the late show. Shane Dwight was playing. Fun and entertaining band. Although it was more country music than blues. Excellent guitar skills. My man loved the fried chicken. I had the collard greens. They were fine but I have HIGH standards when it comes to greens. The service and waitress were very friendly. Dancing and drinking crowd. I recommend this place. It was walking distance from our hotel. Reasonably priced

I’m not the hugest fan of blues, and was a little reluctant to accompany my dad to biscuits and blues on a Friday night in downtown San Francisco. But I did. Because I’m an awesome daughter. My dad had purchased tickets online beforehand and I reminded him that it would be a good idea to have the confirmation number handy when we got there. My suggestion was unwarranted because their system is set up perfectly. He only gave them our last name and we were given tickets and told to head downstairs for the show. The seating is first come, first serve, even if you reserve tickets, so come a little earlier if you want specific seats. Honestly, I don’t think there are any bad seats, but if you like a certain area of the room, there’s no hurt in going early. The waitress took our food and drink orders and came by regularly during the show to check on us. The bus boy(?) though came by so often to clear plates that it became obnoxious and distracting. They serve a variety of southern appetizers and entrees. We ordered the fried chicken plate($ 21) and a side of biscuits($ 5). I was underwhelmed by the quality and portions, but let’s be honest, no one comes here for the food. We watched Tad Robinson and his band play. It was surprisingly great music. I guess I had low expectations, but man, everyone on stage was really really talented. It’s kinda crazy that tickets were only $ 22 and we were able to be so up close and personal. Would I be back? Ehhhh again, I’m not really that into blues… But if you even have the slightest interest, I’d definitely recommend checking out Biscuits and Blues on mason(right below little FAT sheep Mongolian hot pot).

Great music, great food, great bartender. However, I walked in and was greeted by the rudest server. She was blonde and petite and seemed, for whatever reason, not to want to serve me. She says it was ‘because I was alone’ at her table, which was empty(and stayed empty all night). Later in the night I observed plenty of other ‘single parties’ at tables so I’m not sure what that was about. I’ve never had anything(the menu) literally snatched out of my hands and essentially shoo’ed away in public. I wanted to like this place but this kind of service deserves a one star wherever it occurs.

We came here for either Christmas eve or NYE. What did we not order! The friend chicken was goooooood! The right amount of crunchiness, not over battered. Very juicy inside. The order of greens was good too. The key lime pie was the right amount of tart. Wish I had asked not to use icing sugar! The crème brûlée was also good. Entertainment was excellent. It does get very loud so this would be a good 1st date night so you don’t have to talk too much, LOL!

OK, so this review does NOT encompass the food. Just FYI. If you’re looking for food input, move along… move along… I had resisted going to B&B for years primarily due to the fact that I didn’t like having to go through Opentable to get tickets. If there’s an early AND late show, and you want to see both, Opentable may choke on you saying you can’t have two reservations on your account within something like 2.5 hours of each other. So you have to create another account with another email address, and blah blah blah hassles galore. So once I figured I couldn’t hold off any longer in order to see one of my favorites play, I went ahead and showed up for a midweek gig recently. There’a abundant paid public parking in the area(once you get to the area… traffic is a total nightmare around that part of the city). Take BART to Powell for total ease of access. Everything from getting my will call tickets to being seated was easy. Every single employee of Biscuits and Blues that I had come into contact with was incredibly friendly and accommodating. I honestly can’t say enough good things about the manager, the hostess, and the waitstaff in terms of friendliness. I can say that I did have a drink order slightly goofed and I overheard more than one diner telling their server that something was wrong with their order in terms of what was delivered… but not the quality of the food. The sound was pretty good for the size of the club, and the sight lines are all above par. Drink prices were reasonable for what you got but little things take off a star: my coffee seemed not quite hot, and they ran out of Anchor Steam, which is kind of a strange thing to happen in SF. But in the final analysis, Biscuits and Blues is a good club. A fine place to hear music and see the performers right up close.

My friend and I gave biscuits and blues a try a couple weeks back, we had a comped concierge promo so why not! :) Service: Very attentive(at the beginning), the guy with the water pitcher made sure our glasses were never empty. Our waitress was very informative as well, they didn’t offer a certain drink that my friend wanted but she suggested a great alternative instead. When the show started it got a little harder to get a server’s attention, they kept crossing in front of our table and didn’t seem to notice our frantic waving to flag them down. The noise level was pretty high at that point so it was understandable. Ambiance: Great lounge atmosphere, all tables have a great view of the stage. Candlelit tables, white tablecloth, uplighting near the stage set the mood really well. Nice place for a date night :) Food: Onto the important part, the eats! We started with the shrimp and avocado ceviche which was actually pretty decent, although the shrimp was so tiny it might as well have been nonexistent. We also ordered the catfish nuggets which were fairly good as well. Now onto the entrees, I had the peppered beef brisket… WOW. This turned the entire meal around for me. I have never had meat so tender, they must have slow cooked that for days. Perfectly tender, the brisket just fell apart. No need to add salt or anything else the meat was seasoned perfectly. The sides were a bit lackluster but the meat was the star, so I didn’t mind too much. My friend had the salmon which she didn’t particularly care for, so she ended up eating off my dish. Overall food would be a solid 4, not bad but not excellent either. Drinks: Drinks were okay as well, pretty pricey though. I forgot what we ordered but they were both pretty strong, no complaints about that though ;) Entertainment: We had the pleasure of being serenaded by The Jarekus Singleton Band. Let me just say that I’ve never really been into this type of music, but this amazing crew might have changed my mind. They were amazing, Jarekus was sangin, notice I didn’t say singing, he was SANGIN lol fantastic band Overall: Biscuits and Blues is a great entertainment venue, if you’re not into blues/jazz come here with an open mind. They just mind change it :) Food is good, atmosphere is on point, and service is decent. P. S. They do need a valid credit card to hold your reservation, this is via opentable or phone if you’re reserving through the box office.

We wanted to like this place more, but sadly, with the HUGEEXCEPTION of the band, everything else disappointed. The Kevin Russell Band was great! My boyfriend really liked them, but I know he was secretly hoping they would ask for any volunteers to come up to the stage to sit at those drums :) The Blues part of Biscuit & Blues was great… well, even the Biscuits part was good, but everything in between was ehhhh… Firstly, you need to tell people that Iced Teas are $ 4.00 and that each subsequent refill will be $ 4.00 and don’t make the iced tea so darn satisfyingly good that you’ll have 4 refills!(I had a long afternoon of beering with the boyfriend-don’t judge) Every entrée was about $ 20, which is not that bad, but nothing tasted like it was worth half of what it cost. Chicken, sausage and shrimp gumbo should’ve been called Okra, okra, one-shrimp gumbo! If you know me, I almost always have to have Tabasco, but in cases of cajun fooding, it is completely acceptable! She brought me Franks hot sauce because that’s all they had. Yeah, I did not put a wing sauce on my gumbo. The shrimp and corn fritters were ehhh. Nothing special. Josh had the jambalaya. I’m not sure why… I think Cajun food still confuses him. It was super tomato-ey and just plain not-so-very-good. I had what they are known for: the Southern Fried Chicken… the portion was huge. You get a breast, leg and thigh accompanied by mashed taters and coleslaw. I substituted succotash for the taters(the succotash was probably my favorite thing on the plate)…the chicken was fried well, crispy, juicy and tender… but sadly no flavor :(maybe it’s my fault… we are blessed with ahhhmazing fried chicken in Houston! From Max’s Wine Dive to French’s, I’m not sure why I had to try it here… oh well, you eat, you learn. We were happy that this place was only a couple blocks away from our hotel, made walking in heels easy and saved us some money on über fare. I started with a 3-star bc I figured, yeah, it was ok enough but getting over those $ 4.00 ice tea refills, I cannot.
