Janine passed away in 2013. She was the most special person. I loved her so. Such great talent and soul. I will miss her forever.

Beauty and Beast Design just re-finished my Scooter seat. It was all torn up from being out in the sun. She re-finished the seat and it looks brand new. I am very happy with the job that she did and would highly recommend her.

DONOTGOTOTHISPLACE!!! I was calling a couple places in the sunset to get estimates on basic pants hemming and Beauty and Beast was one of them… you will never believe the kind of service and disrespect I got from this one phone call… Me:how much do you charge for a basic pant hem? them: what kind of pants? Me: Basic slacks, no lining them: black pants? jeans? Me: No, slacks, like work pants them: do they have a cuff? Me: No, no cuff… so how much would it cost, I have a couple pairs them: you have to bring them in Me: Can you give me an estimate before I drive there? them: I don’t know me: you don’t know your prices? them: no. go somewhere else.(click) THATWASN’T THEWORSTPART… I got a text message from the phone number listed on Unilocal quoting… ” Hi, you r funny. Alterations are always different. you didn’t even tell me what you needed done so how can i give you a price. You should keep your bitch attitude to yourself and your boyfriend“ Point is, they are beyond horrible with customer service and to harass a customer with words like that will get you a bad reputation quick.

I just had my motorcycle seat vinyl redone by Janine and it came out very well. I opted for some red to match the bike instead of just replacing the basic black, for which there was no extra charge. There was a mix-up with some of the seat hardware, but it was easily solved. Now my bike looks great.

I picked Janine because of her Craigslist ad — I was not worried about price, hell, I had already paid $ 400 for a Corbin seat that was was too hard. Janine re-did the padding and mailed it back to me in Santa Cruz County. I went with Corbin because you can order one with a built in(and removable) back rest and I knew they were firm, but good God, I am 46 years old, not 26! Thankfully, Janine made the saddle usable and I am looking forward to taking a test ride once the rain stops for a spell.

To the first reviewer, just to make you feel better I want you to know that although I came equipped with an OEM vagina I did not get the discount. Nope, in the end I paid the same 120 smackeroos with my god given inny bits as you did with your outty set-up, no thanks for the mammaries at all. That said I am also sad to report that things did not go very well with the job she did for me. I’ll refrain from going into every detail here but suffice it to say that the problems could easily have been avoided if she looked at me on the seat before doing the job, but she did not want to when I offered. Certain logic and understanding of the bike dictate how the seat fits, at what angle and where the rider sits so it seemed like it would be fine anyway, but contrary to what was discussed she apparently does not have understanding of this bike/seat and the first repair was incorrect and did not fit at all. The seat had to be done again in order to be usable, and after doing it she then charged more, which truly is just is not right considering. The second iteration of the seat repair was much better then the first attempt appearance and fit wise, but, I found out the hard way, that the stapling underneath was very rough and they actually damaged the tank paint; the sharp staples rubbed two nice sized spots of paint right off down to the metal. The stapling is sloppy with many only partially in, and even worse you can see the sharp ends pressing bumps through to the edge of the seat cover from the outside — they actually look like they will puncture through and ruin the cover altogether. Please, someone else start redoing motorcycle seats in SF so I have somewhere to go when this happens. Edit: FYI, just discovered that Sargent offers really nice reasonably priced replacement seat covers called ‘Sport Skinz’. Wish I had known about them before, they look great and have felt on the back to protect the tank, and it would have actually cost less then Janine:

First let me say to all you fashion designers, interior decorators, etc. if you want to make some good money on the side, get into the motorcycle seat reupholstery business. Currently the only competition you have in SF is from Janine the Leather Girl. I recently found myself in want of a motorcycle seat and having heard Janine’s name dropped I contacted her about getting my seat fixed. While she could get it done by the next day, I was in no rush even so the cost to me was $ 120. My motorcycle class girlfriend(it’s all I got kids) called two days later to have some work done on her seat. Cost $ 80. So if your seat needs repair and you have a lady friend(or mom) have her order it and get the Vagina discount. And remind yourself that, no matter how much it costs in the end, you are supporting a drunken German girl, which is both hot and admirable.
