Auto Assistance

The CHP found my stolen scooter on the freeway and had these guys tow it. The staff was very helpful in person and over the phone — even texted me a photo of inside the trunk (I asked them to). Keep in mind they charge $ 80 per day for storage, so get your butt over there quick.

The police called this towing company for me after I got in an accident.
Elmer towed my car and talked me into taking it to his lot instead of the city’s lot (my first mistake), because he said it would make it easier/​faster to get my car out, and that the insurance would cover it. (I hesitantly agreed, once the cop suggested it didn’t really matter.)
I had him tow from downtown SF to his lot, and then I requested he move it to a repair shop a few hours later. He was hesitant, and I sensed he wanted to keep my car on his lot, so I went over there to demand it immediately. After much coercion, I had my car moved to the repair shop.
(By the way, stay away from his lot. It’s in a scary-​as-​shit area of town.)
As far as I can tell, he figured I was a rich white kid, and he just tried to see how high a charge would get through my credit card.
He charged me $ 650 for the two tows.
