Very unpleasant shopping experience. Nicely merchandised shop but grumpy owner and son assume the worst about customers and seem to gleefully disparage and chide guests in their shop. On the plus side, they have elevated grumpy an art form here, so there’s that.

I’ve loved knives and weapons since i was 5. I’ve bought a couple of real and replica knives from stores exactly like this one. As I’m walking down Chinatown, I spot Asian Trends and I beg my friends to allow me to stop and take a peek. As I’m browsing the items in the window, the girl asks me if I’m shopping for anything in particular. I told her I was just browsing for now(which as all good business owners know… is already a win as that means the customer is considering). After hearing that answer however, she informs me that I am not allowed to bring in any drinks into the store. I give her a puzzled look as two of my girl friends are already in the store with drinks in hand. Being the respectable young man I am, I do not argue but stand outside to gulp down my drink. In the mean time the girl leaves but not before whispering something to the guy(assuming it was about me). As I finish and enter the store, the guy promptly blocks my way and says I can’t enter with a drink. I show him it’s empty and he says to throw it away outside. Note this is the same guy that just greeted my two girl friends who also had drinks in hand. At that point, they have killed the 5 year old boy’s wonder of knives and weapons in me and I gather my friends and leave. I was obviously not welcomed. This store is dangerous. They have weapons that could kill 5 year old little boys. Beware! *In case people missed it, this was written to be light and funny. To my knowledge, the store has never killed little 5 year old boys. Only their dreams. Lastly, stores don’t kill people. People do. :)

Bad in costumer service. Rude and confrontational. If you just happen to stop by to brows, don’t. They will make u buy and intimidate u telling u don’t look and touch if ur not buying anything. This little Chinese people need to grow.

Great place to get Asian attire! It’s in the touristy part of china town, but the lady who helped us was nice and spoke English so I didn’t have to try to use broken Chinese the entire time. I think the prices are reasonable for the area.

I have been meaning to write this but kept putting it off. I went here on a recent business trip to SF. I had a great experience, the manager is from Hong Kong and was extremely friendly and helpful. Some of the shops in the area have similar items, but because everyone was so friendly and helpful I only came back to this shop. They also had some great sale prices on tea cups. If you are in the China town area and not sure where to shop, stop by here first.

I liked this shop from the time I walked in. They have cute lamps, rice paper bags, silk bags, pillow covers, pashminas all at a great price with awesome discounts. They have this collection of real(dead ofcourse) butterflies, dragonflies in frames which were cute(but me being a butterfly lover found it sad to see those amazing creatures being framed). The usual Chinese dresses, jewelery, home décor were all there but most attractive items were the Cashmere shawls which were being sold at a great price. Very soft and light weighted and they have them in all colors. Go grab them =)
